Hi everyone, Katie here.
Welcome back to Gamer Week. We're celebrating Glogirly's favorite games from her youth all week. Today's game is Candyland! According to Glogirly, just about EVERY kid in America grew up on Candyland. It was her very first game. Candyland was responsible for igniting her hunger for play. And for gumdrops.
Personally I think the whole game could benefit from a little catnip-makeover.
I'd MUCH rather frolic in the catnip forest than climb the gumdrop mountains.
And don't you think Gingy looks better with cat ears?
GLOGIRLY!!! Not the ears!!!
Oh, the risks of playing with sweet treats.
We are kind of liking your version Katie
ReplyDeleteSweet!

The woman remembers that game, although she says she was a bigger fan of Chutes and Ladders!
ReplyDeleteMy mom also grew up loving Chutes and Ladders...and thought that was the game you were talking about. Hey...how about a game of Twister!
ReplyDeleteOoooh, watch out gingerbread Katie!
ReplyDeleteYou look like you're having a blast there Katie!
ReplyDeleteI think your changes make a dreary game way more exciting, Katie!
ReplyDeleteI think some weapons would make it better--maybe we could borrow some from Clue? That was one of the Human's faves!
ReplyDeleteWhat a yummy, er, great game! We think it could benefit from your makeover, Katie!
ReplyDeleteThis ignorant Canuck, born in Scotland, never played Candyland. I know!! It horrifies all sorts of people.
ReplyDeleteBut Katie.. I gotta say.. I like your gingerbread man the best. Pixar should hire you as their creative consultant.
You could get paid in dates with Puss or something.
Mommy says she never played Candyland before though she does love gum drops...even now!
ReplyDeleteWe like your ideas for catnip and cat ears on Gingy. Much better game!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! My Mommeh loved playing Candyland, too. Harley says "Let's go to Candy Mountain!"
ReplyDeleteYep, that game looks much better in nip!!
ReplyDeleteKatie,
ReplyDeleteI like your version better too!

Mommy remembers playing that but she agrees with you about the make over. Her favorite game was Monopoly.
ReplyDeleteWe don't have "Candyland" in England, but it looks fun. I think someone should invent a special "Nipland" just for cats.
ReplyDeleteMommy remembers Candyland -- she used to get mad when other player's game pieces passed her-- so everytime she had a chance to pass another player -- she would smack over their game piece with her game piece! (It wasn't all gumdrops and catnip to Mommy -- trust us!)
ReplyDeleteLOL! The catnip ears kill me!
ReplyDeleteTW says she never played that game. By the age of 5, she was into hard liquor and Mystery Date. HAH! She gambled big with Monopoly too.
ReplyDeleteOddly enough, my mom never played Candyland or Chutes and Ladders. She never heard of them until she was too old (she said) to care. Was she deprived? Mom said they played Monopoly, chinese checkers, parchesi, and tiddly winks and jacks. They all sound silly. But the jacks did include a little ball that sounds fun to chew on.
ReplyDeletePaws down, we're all in favor of Katie's makeover of Candyland!!
ReplyDeleteYou guys crack me up with all of your funny posts! :) The gingerbread man with cat ears, hahaha!
