Smoke And Mirrors

Hi everyone, Katie here.

Bohemian Catsody was a huge hit! Thanks for all your great comments. I'm hoping my performance will earn me an oscar.

Glogirly says that if it weren't for Gloman and his amazing photography skills, we'd have never been able to put together a production like Bohemian Catsody. What??? Are you kidding me??? Ah, excuse me... I don't see Gloman in any starring role. Who does she think the CAT in Bohemian CATsody is anyway?!

I swear. I give and I give. And I give some more.

This is the photo we used for all of my a capella close ups.
Without me in the photo, it would be nothing
but the side of a sofa and an ugly rug.

Glogirly just added a little smoke and mirrors.
But I must point out that she needed FOUR of me to pull this off.

Bohemian CATsody

Hi everyone, Katie here.

Congrats to Brenda, Boots & Ozzie from Canada, eh. Within seconds of my Name That Tune post challenge, they were tap-tapping away on their computer with the correct answer: Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody.

So find a comfy chair, grab a CATsody-pop from the fridge and turn the volume UP. My latest music video has just been released! At six minutes, I know, it's long. But it's worth every note! There's a special surprise at the end for my friend CK. It's her b-day today, you know.

You can watch directly on YouTube by clicking HERE.
Or just click the video below.

Don't forget to sing along. You know you want to.

Pee S -
There were a few words in the lyrics we had to Google. In case your enquiring mind wants to know...

Scaramouch: A masked, rougish clown character of the Italian Commedia Dell'arte.

Bismallah: It's Arabic and translates to "In the name of God (most gracious and most merciful.)"

Beelzebub: Originally translated in Arabic, Greek and Latin as "Lord of the Flies." In later Christian sources, he appears as a demon.

Figaro: From Mozart's comic opera, The Marriage of Figaro. Figaro is almost swindled into marrying his own mother.

Name That Tune

Hi everyone, Katie here.

The production of my upcoming music video has had me a little tied up. Don't worry, no rope was involved. In the meantime I thought it would be fun to give you a few clues. See if anyone is smart enough to...

NAME THAT TUNE

Era: Mid-70's

Sales: 3rd best selling single in UK of all time

Top of the Charts Factoids:
  • When released, the song stayed at the top of the UK Singles charts for 9 weeks.
  • 15 years later, after the death of one of the band members, it again reached #1 on the UK Singles charts. This time for 5 weeks.
  • The next year, the song reached #2 on the US charts after being featured in a popular movie.

Do I sound like Casey Kasem yet?

What makes it unique?
  • The song has no chorus section.
  • But it has everything else - a ballad, a guitar solo, a hard rock section....even a little opera thrown in.

From my guitar solo.

I also get to play the piano.

Did I mention that I dance the Fandango?

Now again I must insist that you do not ask your friend, Mr. Google, for help. If you can't stand it and decide to cheat, just don't give it away.

On your marks.
Get set.
GO!

My Next Project

Hi everyone, Katie here.

I've been resting up after my music video tour. This Killer Queen really needed her beauty rest. The response to my musical prowess was so great I decided to begin production on a new and very special recording.

Killer Queen was an autobiography of sorts. Glogirly says it suited my personality perfectly. She said it with a smirk though.

Get your Kleenex ready.

My next role is much more challenging and dramatic. I play a character torn between life and death. Happiness and sorrow. It requires a tremendous amount of self reflection.

But when you're as good looking as me,
self reflection comes natural.

Killer Queen

Hi everyone, Katie here.

Just in time, I'm ready to rock you into the weekend!

You've been such good sports over the past few days, trying to figure out the song featured in my new music video. I've been throwing you a few bones each day, but it wasn't until late last night that someone finally got it.

Congratulations to Caren & Cody from Cat Chat! They pegged it. And she pegged ME. Glogirly says there really is NO better song to personify me than Queen's 1974 breakthrough hit, 'Killer Queen.' Freddy Mercury, the pianist and lead singer, wrote the lyrics first and then added in the musical arrangements. He wrote the song about a high-class call girl. Gloman has been known to call me a whore. I'm not sure how I feel about all this.

So without further delay...here it is!

Pssssst! Blogger cuts off the right side of the screen, so if you want an optimum viewing experience, just click HERE to go straight to YouTube. Oh and because I've violated about a gazillion copyright infringement laws, you can't watch it on your mobile device.

Glogirly's had a bit too much fun creating my costumes and sets for this production. Now the song is playing in her head 24/7.

She goes to sleep humming...
"She keeps her Moet & Chandon . . . . . . . in a pretty cabinet."

She wakes up singing...
"In conversation . . . . . . . . . . . she spoke just like a baroness."

All day long it's...
"She's a killer . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .QUEEN."

Now YOU can sing along too!

Master Of My Custom Domain

Hi everyone, Katie here.

This just in.
I am officially Queen of the castle.
Lord of the manor.
And Master of my custom domain.

Glogirly paid the nice peeps at GoDaddy, not to be confused with GloDaddy, and we are proud to announce we have a new member of the family.

The Official Announcement

Not to worry. You can still find us at www.glogirly.blogspot.com. You will be automatically redirected to www.glogirly.com. It's the same blog, same me...still exceptionally good looking. Some things never change.

Glogirly thought it would be fun to have a domain to call our own. Frankly, I think her money would have been better spent on salmon.

Pee S - My music video will be posting SUPER SOON! Here's another clue for those of you that have been playing:

My perfume came naturally from Paris.

Naturally.

Feeling Like A Little Chinese

Hi everyone, Katie here.

Glogirly and I are still working on the music video I teased you about the other day. So far no one has managed to figure out the name of the song we're using. But don't let that stop you from trying!

I've been extremely busy with more and more costume and set changes for my video. The song covers a lot of ground and many eras. I'm a virtual time traveler. I know, still not much of a hint. I thought you'd like to take a peek at a couple of my latest sets.

I had this cool carriage made custom.
Met a man from China.

We took a really cool trip.
Went down to Asia Minor.

Can you figure out what the song is yet? (remember, you've got to think WAY back to the 70's) And NO googling to figure it out. Glogirly does that ALL the time and I think it's just plain cheating.

Don't worry if you can't get it, you'll know soon enough. Just as soon as I find a video of a giant explosion to work into it.

Now you're REALLY curious.

Katie Antoinette

Hi everyone, Katie here.

Glogirly and I have had so much fun making movies that we've decided to try our hand at a music video! Settle down, remain calm...it's not done yet. The costume and set changes are quite involved. I thought you'd like a sneak peak at one of my favorites.

This is me as Katie Antoinette.
My wig comes complete with pink ribbons.
I've been told not to eat them because of the "ribbon incident."

This is where I get to say, "Let them eat cake."
You'd think that anyone encouraging the eating of
something as yummy as cake would be hailed as a
heroine of the highest proportions.

But, Ms. Antoinette's rep was anything but.
Still....Let them eat cake.

I know, you're asking yourself, "Self, what song could Katie be using for her first ever music video?" Well, if you're REALLY good, you might be able to figure it out based on my Katie Antoinette costume. Because I'm so nice, and good-looking, I'll give you one more hint:

HINT >>> Glogirly is really old. Compared to me that is. She says she was a child of the 70's. That's when music became cool to her. She also says that some of her favorite hits are cool again. I say, yeah right. Get over it. You're old.

More to come, music fans!

Spammy No More

Hi everyone, Katie here.

I've always been curious about that salty, sweet, meat-like substance in the funny shaped cans. Spam. Rhymes with ham, lamb, clam. Shabam. It MUST be good.

With a little artistic flair, I suppose you could even sculpt a cat out of spam.

But for the past two days, Facebook has disagreed. They don't think Spam is nearly as sweet. In fact, they called my blog "SPAMMY." They wouldn't even let me post links to my blog on my OWN Facebook page.

Is it a coincidence that this happened on the same day I donned my pink g-string with the dollar bill? I don't think so. The same has happened to other cats that weren't wearing anything nearly as racy.

Well thank Cod, everything appears to be back to normal. G-string and all. So I'm celebrating with a few fun Spammy facts.

DID YOU KNOW...

There is a Spam Museum right here in Minnesota!

If it's too sunny inside the museum,
you can pick up a pair of Spam Shades.

There's even a Spam Fan Club.

Not nearly as popular as MY fan club. But that's what you get for canned meat without an expiration date.

Salmon Pasties

Hi everyone, Katie here.

I had you at Salmon, didn't I? Ever since Monday's post about Cats & Crowns and Toddlers & Tiaras, you've been providing endless inspiration in your comments. Benny & Lily had me digging for boas in Glogirly's closet Tuesday. Now today, thanks to Katnip Lounge's Trish, I'm donning my latest fashion accessory.

Salmon pasties.

They're dangly, catnip filled, and look just like my favorite treat. What's not to love?

I'm thinking of taking them to Vegas and starting a Showcat Troupe.

Maybe a :::shhhh::: Kitty Bar.

Get your dollar bills ready.

Cats And Crowns Part Deux

Hi everyone, Katie here.

Your comments from yesterday's Cats & Crowns post have inspired me. In fact, it was Benny & Lily who suggested I look in Glogirly's closet for a boa. B & L are dogs, so there was that chance that the kind of boa they were suggesting was not made of feathers. But as dogs go, B & L are pretty cool so I went with it. (Besides, Glogirly would NEVER have let the other kind of boa in the townhouse. EVER.)

The feathers were fun, so then I went a little farther...

Watch your back, toddler people. If anyone knows feathers, it's us cats. And I'm thinking your showgirl outfit would make a REALLY nice cat toy.

PS: If you haven't met Benny & Lily of Two French Bulldogs, you should check them out and say hi. Just play down the fact that you're a cat. Be cool. Act natural.

Cats And Crowns

Hi everyone, Katie here.

So Gloman has been making some accusations here at the townhouse. He's become suspicious of Glogirly and the 'attention' she's been paying me. An innocent drive-by with the TV remote and a momentary pause on a reality show called Toddlers & Tiaras has yielded Glogirly the title of Stage Mom.

Apparently he thinks it's unusual ...actually I think the word he used was insane... for Glogirly to be doting over me, stalking me with her iPhone video recorder, asking to schedule more and more photo shoots.

I think the Photoshop tiaras put him over the edge.

So out of my way you spoiled little toddler people. Walk away from the false eyelashes. Leave your hairspray behind. There's a new cat in town and she's wearin' a crown.

Game on.

Salmon Sail

Hi everyone, Katie here.

I know. I talk about salmon ALL the time. I'm afraid it's something of an obsession with me. They are just so cute, so fun and SO delicious. Glogirly doesn't allow me to indulge frequently, but on special occasions, or when she is feeling especially guilty, I get to ride the Salmon Sail.

Come Sail Away With Me!

Fish Eyes

Hi everyone, Katie here.

So today's title got you, didn't it? What's not to love about all things fishes? When Gloman said he was going to shoot me with his fish eye, you can imagine my, well...curiosity.

First of all, don't worry about the shooting. When Gloman shoots me it's only with a camera. Annoying yes, but dangerous no. At least not for me.

However my ears perk at any mention of fish.

I was pretty disappointmented when I realized THIS was all he was going for. His fish eye lens has absolutely nothing to do with salmon, tuna or any other kind of fish. It's just a funny looking lens that gets the whole room in the frame of the photo. Woo. "Look! You can even see the clock!" he said.

Like I CARE what time it is.

So when do I get MY fish?

Happy New Year - The MOVIE

Hi everyone, Katie here.

Since I'm not a fan of banging pots and pans when the clock strikes midnight, I decided to ring in the new year with a movie.

Pssssst! Blogger cuts off the right side of the screen, so if you want an optimum viewing experience, click on the YouTube icon at the bottom right of the screen. Or just click HERE.

Glogirly and I want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your friendship. The blogosphere is an amazing place. We are so happy to have found you.

Happy New Year!!!

love,
Katie & Glogirly
