Hi everyone, Katie here.
Glogirly and I were talking last night. Just the usual girl-stuff. Fashion, makeup, blogging. Cheese, shoes, mood rings. One thing led to another and we came up with a very cool idea.
A MOOD RING AWARD.
The MOOD RING AWARD is a very unique award. We all know there are awards for being sweet. (I never win those.) There are awards for eloquent prose. (I'd rather pose than prose.) There are beautiful awards. (Isn't just being a cat a beautiful enough award on its own?) And there are even best friend awards. (Glogirly is my BFF and this award is NOT for her.)
The MOOD RING AWARD celebrates the very thing that makes us cats so special. Some days we feel pink. Other days blue. Summer days are often green, but maybe you're feeling just a little bit orange.
(Don't tell her, I'll deny everything if you do... but Glogirly actually gave me the idea. If you were to ask her what her favorite color is, she would simply say, "How can I possibly choose only ONE favorite color when there are so many beautiful ones!") I agree. Life would be pretty boring if everything and everyday were the same color. Glogirly says cats would be pretty boring if we weren't so moody. I'm not sure how to take that.
So here's how the MOOD RING AWARD works:
STEP #1
Each recipient must share four things about themselves that represent the four colors of the mood ring: Pink, Blue, Orange and Green. You know me, photos are encouraged but optional.
Here, I'll go first:
PINK
As much as I'm a true girly-girl, I feel that Glogirly takes the whole pink thing a little far. I let her change my blog colors. I even said mew to the pink in my new logo. But I must draw the line at this. A harness is bad enough in any color. But pink just adds insult to injury. In fact, I may be forced to inflict a little insult and injury if I ever have to wear this again.
BLUE
The only thing besides an empty food dish that makes me feel blue is watching my girl leave. I know, I know... I say that I cherish my alone-time. I mew big about napping, providing townhouse security and running up and down the steps naked. But truth be told, when I get left alone my world feels kind of blue.
ORANGE
They say that cats don't like orange. Well I'm not a fan of cirtus air freshener either. Ick. But I DO love my orange butterfly. This is no ordinary butterfly. It's a Casbah Kitten butterfly that's filled with catnip. Awesome. AND, it flies around on a stick so it means that Glogirly has to play butterfly WITH me. So for me, orange is very happy. I love orange.
GREEN
That famous frog said it's not easy being green. And now, everyone thinks it's cool and correct to be green. Sometimes my eyes look super green, so I guess that makes me cool and correct too. I recycle. I bring green bags to the grocery store. I use public transportation. Well Glogirly does, so I'm just going to ride on her green coat tails. Let's be clear though. I'd rather NOT ride the bus again.
STEP #2
Each recipient must choose FOUR COLORFUL friends to give the award to. Don't forget to say who they are and give a link to their blog. If you'd like, add in a little something about why you've chosen them. Once again, photos are optional but always fun. I've never met a cat who doesn't like having their photo (a flattering one of course) online for the world to see.
It was very hard to pick just four. I love all my friends. But this is just the start of the MOOD RING AWARD. I know that it won't be long before everyone is wearing one!
Sooooooo......Congratulations to my friends:
Whenever I'm feeling orange and bright I LOVE playing with my cool Casbah Kitten felt toys. They are the best EVER!!! And their blog always makes me smile.
Fin and I share the same sarcastic sense of humor and the same brand of crackpot V-E-T's. So whenever I'm feeling green I look to Finny for support.
Whenever I'm feeling blue, Luna lights up my day with her loving comments, beautiful blue eyes and an especially sweet blog from far, far away.
It should come as no surprise that I look to Daisy when I'm feeling pink. She's my fashion inspiration. I want to play in HER closet.
What? I said FOUR not Five friends. And hey... these two Frenchies are DOGS??? Well I made up the rules so I can break them too. Don't tell anyone, but I'm an equal opportunity cat blogger. So once in a while I like to share a little love with my canine friends. And who better than Benny & Lily with their hilarious antics, addicting personalities and COLORFUL wardrobes!
B & L rock!
THE LAST STEP #3
Be sure to post the MOOD RING AWARD badge in your blog post and a link back to your friend that gave you the award. You can grab this little one here or the big one at the top.
Here's where you thank the blogger that gave you the award.
Like this:
Thanks to KATIE (oh, I guess that's me) for this awesomely cool and colorful award. ...I'd like to thank the academy, my fellow cat blogging friends, my therapist, the dogs... Huh? Glogirly says NO acceptance speeches.
Fine.
Better watch out.
I feel my mood ring a-changing.
