Kitty Shower Duty

 

WAFFLES:  I'm good enough. I'm smart enough–

ELLIE:  Mr. Waffles! Are you going to help with shower duty?

WAFFLES:  I'm super handsome enough–

ELLIE:  Mr. Waffles!!! Glogirly's going to turn the water on. You're going to get all WET!

WAFFLES:  I'm not scared of a little water. Are you?

ELLIE:  Uh... maybe?

About Today's Photos and "Shower Duty"

Every night at about 9pm, Ellie heads to the bathroom and waits. That's about the time Glogirly takes her shower and Ellie LOVES to help. She doesn't actually go IN the shower, but she sits right outside the door, watching and waiting. She helps Glogirly towel off, supervises her putting on her face cream, coming her hair, and putting on her cat pajamas. There's just something about being the bathroom with Glogirly that she absolutely loves. 

Waffles is more of a daredevil when it comes to shower duty. He likes to go IN the shower. Usually he can tell when the water is about to turn on and he'll skeedaddle in a hurry. But lately, he's been super curious about the whole shower thing and has chosen to stay inside for the whole shower. He sits on the bench, away from the spray, and watches in fascination. Sometimes he even moves closer to the falling water. That is until his toes get wet. Then it's all over. 

WAFFLES:  OPEN THE DOOR!!! OPEN THE DOOR!!!

Dual Wellness Visit at the Vet - He Must Work Out!

 

WAFFLES:  Time for my daily workout. Gotta maintain my mancatly physique for the ladies. 

ELLIE:  I didn't know you worked out, Mr. Waffles!

WAFFLES:  Duh. Of course I workout, Ellie. This kind of handsome doesn't just happen. It takes dedication. Commitment–

ELLIE:  But Mr. Waffles, your legs aren't long enough to reach the pedals on that bike.

Weekend at the Vet - He must work out!

Over the weekend, Ellie and Waffles had their annual wellness visit and bloodwork at the vet. It's the first time since before the pandemic that Glogirly has been able to go inside the clinic with the kitties. 

Gloman came with this time too. We all agreed that he would have a very calming presence for Ellie, who is still very shy and scared when it comes to new people. 

Both Ellie and Waffles did great and were real troopers through the usual poking and prodding. 

One of Glogirly's concerns going in was the fact that Waffles has "filled out" a bit since Ellie joined the family. More mancat to love! Turns out his weight gain is mostly solid muscle. Very likely from all the exercise he gets playing and running around the house with Ellie. So he really DOES work out. LOL! 

Vet Visit Recap

Both Ellie and Waffles passed their physical examinations with flying colors. Waffles will be 10 years old this year and he weighs in at a manly and muscly 13 pounds. Ellie will be two years old this summer and now weighs 9 whole pounds. Both are going back in the first week of April for dental cleanings. Bloodwork results will be in this week. We're very hopeful Ellie and Waffles are both as healthy as they appear to be.

WAFFLES:  That's great, Ellie. But I'm kind of sleeping.

ELLIE:  It's such a feelin' that my love...I can't hide. I can't hide. I CAN'T HIDE! ♩♬

WAFFLES:  Heard you the first time, Ellie.

ELLIE:  I wanna hold your paaa-aaa-aaa-aaa-aa-aa-aa-aw. I wanna hold your paw. ♩♬

WAFFLES:  Sleeping, Ellie. Trying. To. Sleep.

ELLIE:  I wanna hold your paaa-aaa-aaa-aaa-aa-aa-aa-aw. ♩♬

WAFFLES:  Trying. So Very. Hard. 

ELLIE:  I WANNA HOLD YOUR PAAAAAWW! ♩♬

Just Another Day in the Office

Monday through Friday, plus weekends too, Ellie and Waffles show up for office duty. Their primary workspace is the blue chair next to Gloman's desk. Doesn't even matter if Gloman shows up for work, they're always there. 

So very dedicated. 

WAFFLES:  Nothing to see here. Other than a handsome mancat hanging on my favorite chair with the snow freshies out the window behind me. 

ELLIE:  What are snow freshies, Mr. Waffles?

WAFFLES:  That's what Glogirly calls it when she races to the ski area after it's been snowing. Powder. Pow-pow. You know, freshies.

ELLIE:  This is what I like to do when there's freshies.

Freshies!

Despite the ginormous snowdrift outside the bathroom window, we're still way behind with snowfall this season. But we got a few new inches, which means freshies tomorrow morning at the ski hill! 

So you-know-who will be donning her kitty helmet and powder skis!
