Where On Earth is Glogirly?!

 

WAFFLES:  Whoa, Ellie!!! Watch out for the rocks! And the LLAMAS!!!

ELLIE:  I'm just looking for Glogirly, Mr. Waffles! She said she was hiking with the llamas. 

WAFFLES:  Ellie, I don't think you're old enough for a drivers license. Or tall enough.

ELLIE:  Mr. Llama, Mr. Llama! Have you seen –

Glogirly and the Llamas

Glogirly is off on a backcountry hiking journey with 4 friends and 6 LLAMAS! They're trekking through the wilderness in southern Colorado at 12,500+ feet. Camping in a tent and everything! This is quite a big deal for our former city-girl! No internet, no indoor plumbing, in fact no plumbing at all!

It's that Birthday Time of the Year Again!

ELLIE:  Are you ready for the party, Mr. Waffles? There's going to be snacks and cake and maybe even some tissue paper! 

WAFFLES:  Snacks are good!

WAFFLES:  Oh, and lots and lots of people. Ski people, neighbors, and even Dr. Fern.

WAFFLES:  Wait, what?? Our VET is coming to Glogirly's birthday party??? 

ELLIE:  Yup!

WAFFLES:  No one cleared that with me.

ELLIE:  But she's bringing snacks and stuff–

WAFFLES:  Let's hope that's all she's bringing.

Glogirly 6.0

It was our girl's birthday last week and we threw a Summer Apres Ski Season Soire for her and her ski friends. This was a milestone birthday for her...she likes to say it's the 36th anniversary of her 24th birthday. But that requires a lot of math to figure out. 

Everyone had a wonderful time. There was lots of laughter, yummy food, and a big birthday cake!

Glgirly's ski friend Holly's birthday was the day before hers so it was a joint celebration. The only thing missing was SNOW. LOL!

Waffles is charming Glogirly's ski instructor, Lynne, and her husband. 

Some of Glogirly friends surprised her with the most wonderful gift. A custom ski trail sign! One of Glogirly's favorite trails at the local ski resort is a fun little run off the beaten path. It's towards the end of a run called La Belle. Since this little run doesn't officially have a name, she and her friends decided to call it Ellie's Belly. ...after our own sweet Ellie Belly, of course!

Gloman showered our girl with love and the most beautiful flowers on her special day. 

We're publishing a day early this week...Glogirly is heading off to southern Colorado on a backcountry hiking trip tomorrow. With LLAMAS!!! More to come on that soon...

ELLIE:  And when I touch you, (Mr. Waffles) I feel happy...inside. ♩♬

WAFFLES:  That's great, Ellie. But I'm kind of sleeping.

ELLIE:  It's such a feelin' that my love...I can't hide. I can't hide. I CAN'T HIDE! ♩♬

WAFFLES:  Yeah, you can't hide. Heard you the first time, Ellie.

ELLIE:  I wanna hold your paaa-aaa-aaa-aaa-aa-aa-aa-aw. I wanna hold your paw. ♩♬

WAFFLES:  Sleeping, Ellie. Trying. To. Sleep.

ELLIE:  I wanna hold your paaa-aaa-aaa-aaa-aa-aa-aa-aw. ♩♬

WAFFLES:  Still trying. So. Very. Hard. 

ELLIE:  Where'd you go, Mr. Waffles. I still WANNA HOLD YOUR PAAAAAWW! ♩♬

Just Another Day in the Office

Monday through Friday, plus weekends too, Ellie and Waffles show up for office duty. Their primary workspace is the blue chair next to Gloman's desk. Doesn't even matter if Gloman shows up for work, they're always there. 

And now that it's summer, the office heats up quickly in the morning. PURRfect for office work, a.k.a. cat napping.

These two are so very dedicated. 

Waffle Wagon Takeover

 

WAFFLES:  Do you ever get that feeling that someone's watching you?

ELLIE:  I can't even see you, Mr. Waffles. How can I be watching you?

 

WAFFLES:  I can see YOU, Ellie. And I know you're watching me. I wouldn't be surprised if you try and hijack my Waffle Wagon.

ELLIE:  Hijack?

ELLIE:  What's a hijack? I like sitting up here really high and stuff. But my name's not Jack. It's Ellie.

WAFFLES:  Hijack is you trying to steal my Waffle Wagon. I've got your number, Ellie. 

ELLIE:  What's my number, Mr. Waffles? I kind of like seven. Or maybe two. Yeah, two. Like you and–

WAFFLES:  Not that kind of number, Ellie. 

About Today's Photos

One of Ellie's favorite toys. or rather playground, is the Waffle Wagon. It's especially fun when Waffles is IN it. Sometimes she'll just sit in it, waiting for Waffles to join her. Other times, when Waffles is already inside, she'll attempt to negotiate a joint partnership.

Her favorite spot is up on top of the bonnet. It's anything but stable and takes a lot of balance and kitty-agility. And the best part about it is the mesh screen that she can peer at Waffles through and the opening on the sides where she can reach down to taunt him and as Gloman calls it, "tweak his beak." 

The tray table and cup holder attached to the handle is pretty fun too. That's where Ellie keeps her plastic bottle caps, a.k.a., her other favorite toys.

Shower Cats

  

WAFFLES:  I'm good enough. I'm smart enough–

ELLIE:  Mr. Waffles! Are you going to help with shower duty?

WAFFLES:  I'm super handsome enough–

ELLIE:  Mr. Waffles!!! Glogirly's going to turn the water on. You're going to get all WET!

WAFFLES:  I'm not scared of a little water. Are you?

ELLIE:  Uh... maybe?

About Today's Photos and "Shower Duty"

Every night at about 9pm, Ellie heads to the bathroom and waits. That's about the time Glogirly takes her shower and Ellie LOVES to help. She doesn't actually go IN the shower, but she sits right outside the door, watching and waiting. She helps Glogirly towel off, supervises her putting on her face cream, coming her hair, and putting on her cat pajamas. There's just something about being the bathroom with Glogirly that she absolutely loves. 

Waffles is more paws-on when it comes to shower duty. He likes to go IN the shower. He sits on the bench, away from the spray, and watches in fascination. Sometimes he even moves closer to the falling water. That is until his toes get wet. Then it's all over. 

WAFFLES:  OPEN THE DOOR!!! OPEN THE DOOR!!!
