Three Ounces

KATIE:  So Waffles, what's this I hear about a weigh-in?

WAFFLES:  Glogirly says that if we do our weigh-ins at home we don't have to go to the vet.

KATIE:  Waffles, for once in your life you're actually making sense.

WAFFLES:  She said to climb into our Sleepypod, then all she has to do is weigh us with her luggage scale.  We're going to weigh a LOT in the Sleepypod!

KATIE:  Waffles, I'm sure she'll subtract the weight of the Sleepypod to figure out what we weigh. 

WAFFLES:  C'mon Boss. Let's jump in. 

KATIE:  Don't be ridiculous, Waffles. We're not getting weighed TOGETHER.

WAFFLES:  But don't we want a really high score?  You know, so we can win!

KATIE:  Waffles, this isn't a soccer game. 

WAFFLES:  So you don't want to be on my team?

KATIE:  Seriously Waffles. That's not how it works.

WAFFLES:  Glogirly says I'm a strapping 10 pounds! Do I look strapping, Boss?

KATIE:  Well, strapping wouldn't really be MY first choice of words.

WAFFLES:  So how much do YOU weigh, Boss?

KATIE:  Not that it's ANY of your business... I weigh slim and svelte 9 pounds, 13 ounces.

WAFFLES:  So that's less right?

KATIE:  Three ounces less.

WAFFLES:  WooHoo!!!  I WIN!  I WIN!

Donation LOOT & a Giveaway to BOOT!

WAFFLES:  Hi everybuddy, Waffles here. 

Did you know I have a new job???  I'm the official LOOT Inspector for the PetMeds Suggest a Shelter in Need Program! Last month the Boss announced that 1800PetMeds is partnering with GLOGIRLY on this cool year-long program.

Each quarter, they send my shelter kitty pals at Minnesota's Feline Rescue $500 worth of LOOT.  This month, in addition to the big donation, they sent a few things here to the Townhouse so that I could test them out before we deliver them over to my shelter friends.

I take my new job very seriouslies. It's important to check out ALL the loot, inside and out.

WAFFLES:  This small pet carrier and bag is very fancy. You can't see, but it's got WHEELS. This pink hog's got a top speed of 3 mph. 4 mph on the hardwoods!

WAFFLES:  This is a pet crate from Pet Gear. It says it's for dogs, but it's an awesome kitty-hiding-spot. Did you know it's magic??? When I'm inside, I'm INVISIBLE!

WAFFLES:  The shelter kitties are going to LOVE this bunkbed & playroom. I'm pretty sure it's got magic invisible powers too. You can't see me, right?

WAFFLES:  The Boss and I took the Frolicat Pounce Teaser out for a spin. The mouse darts around in circles through the cheese holes. I think if I catch it, I get cheese. 

KATIE:  Cheese? I'm not holding my breath.

WAFFLES: Awww, c'mon Boss, you LOVE cheese! 

The Donation Haul
There's so much loot, we're going to need a truck to carry it all! In addition to the giant stack of stuff, there's a heated bed pad that I'm sure can sleep at least three.

The Boss and I have been saving up extra food to add to the donation. We think the shelter cats are going to be really happy. Of course the happiest thing of all would be for them to find new forever homes where they can have great stuff like Bird TV and their very own sofa to snuggle on with their human. But these things will make their stay in the shelter a little happier and a little more comfortable.

Waffles Wednesday: Charming

 Hi everybuddy, Waffles here.

The ladies call me charming. I thought it was my eyes, or maybe my orange stripes and pink nose. Glogirly says I have a charming personality ...at least when the Boss isn't around.

So I got this charming necklace to match all my other charming stuff.

It's got a lion, you know...like the really BIG cats in Africa. And it's GOLDEN. Golden HAS to be charming. On the back it has my name, "Waffles," and my phone number too. The ladies will LOVE that!

Oh, this is Black Cat and he's just modeling my new necklace. He's not as charming as me, but Glogirly says he does a nice job of sitting still. 

I tried to eat my necklace, but it didn't taste very charming. So I'm going to stick to eating the Boss'– I mean my food.  The Boss says there's nothing charming about me eating her food.

In case you're wondering where I found such a charming necklace, it's from Sleepypod's Jewelry Grade Pendant Collection for Pets & Children. Even though it's supposed to be MINE, I think I saw Glogirly wearing it the other day. That's okay though, because I think she's kind of charming too.

Buy a Book. Save a Cat.

Hi everyone, Katie here.

I am honored to share a beautiful book project with you today. It's a book with a purpose and a mission to help homeless cats who need medical care and families in financial need who are facing medical-care funding challenges for their pets.

The Story
The Bad Guy on the Block is a clever caper about three cats who through teamwork, help to catch a neighborhood thief. Dewey, Thumper and Lily, three beautiful and goofy Norwegian forest cats, are the unlikely heroes, along with their human, Anna. The book is written by Cincinnati author and devoted cat-mom, Kristin Heimerl.

Magical Whimsy
The whimsical illustrations, created by Irene Bofill Garcia, are sure to turn this tale into a classic bedtime story for children and their cat-loving parents.

The Cast Kitties
The three cats are real and belong to Kristin. The story is (mostly) true. And the cause and mission is close to her heart and to ours.

Give Them Health and a Home™ 
25% of the profits will fund acute medical care for homeless shelter cats so that they have a change at living healthy and happy lives in loving forever homes. Struggling families in financial need will also be eligible for acute medical-care funding so that their pet can remain part of their family and out of the shelter system.

Why is This So Very Important?
As much as no one likes to think about their pets becoming ill or needing medical care, things happen. Cats become ill, sometimes suffering from a disease, sometimes as the result of an accident.

Homeless shelter cats with treatable illnesses or who need expensive care to bring them back to health often suffer the worst fate of all. These are savable lives. Many were once someone's special companion. With a little help, faith and attention, they can be once again.


What Can You Do NOW? 
This is so easy! Help us spread the word about the 3 Norwegians and their book, The Bad Guy On the Block to people just like YOU, with love and compassion their hearts for cats and families in crisis.

Their book is an Indiegogo project. They've launched a campaign to raise funds to bring their project and book to fruition.
