KATIE:  So Waffles, how's that pillow working out for you?

WAFFLES:  Fine.

KATIE:  It's my pillow, you know. 

WAFFLES:  What about that pillow you're already sitting on? Isn't that your pillow?

KATIE:  Yes. 

This New Year Stuff is Hard

WAFFLES:  So Boss, what's the hardest part of the new year for you?

KATIE:  Hardest?

WAFFLES:  Yeah. What's the hardest thing to get used to in the new year?

 KATIE:  You mean besides YOU still being here after all these years?

WAFFLES:  No. I said the hardest part, not the funnest part.

KATIE:  Waffles, I wouldn't exactly call you the *funnest* part of the new year. Funnest isn't even a word.






WAFFLES:  Well it should be. So you want to know the hardest part for me?

KATIE:  Not really.

WAFFLES:  Getting used to writing 2015 on my checks.

KATIE:  Waffles, you don't even have a checking account.

WAFFLES:  Yeah, but if I did, that would be really hard. I mean one day it's 2014 and the next day it's 2015.

KATIE:  Yeah, that's pretty much how it works, Waffles. Whatever, most of the time you don't even know what DAY it is.




WAFFLES:  Uh huh... it's Waffles Wednesday.

KATIE:  It's Friday.

WAFFLES:  Ok, so it's Waffles Friday.

KATIE:  And you wonder why the hardest part of the new year for me is Waffles.  *sigh*

Monday Morning Crime Scene: Litter Room Looting

 WAFFLES:  Who, ME???

EXHIBIT A:  Tattered remains of two 20 lb. bags of Dr. Elsey's Precious Cat Litter. A particularly heinous act; the litter was apparently unused and attacked strictly for 'sport.'

EXHIBIT B:  Gross misuse of toilet paper. CSI's are still running trace, however it is rumored to have been a nearly full roll of Cottonelle Ultra Soft. 

KATIE:  Yes, you.

KATIE:  What's THIS doing here??? I thought it got thrown out with the trash where it belongs LAST year.

WAFFLES:  It's not trash, Boss! It's a Christmas collar! See? You want to wear it?

KATIE:  Uh... no.  A). It's not Christmas yet.  And B). I don't do collars.

WAFFLES:  Hey Boss! Did you hear? It's going to SNOW today!

KATIE:  Since when do you pay attention to what the meteorologist has to say?

WAFFLES:  MEATeoroligist???

KATIE:  We're bearing down for our first winter storm of the year here in Minnesota. The local meteorologist often gets it wrong though. Still, I'm not sure how to tell Waffles that we've never had a documented chicken storm. Not even a winter chicken advisory.

KATIE:  So you're FINALLY home. This Waffle Wagon of yours smells. 

WAFFLES:  Are you happy to see me, Boss?  I had SO much fun! Did you miss me? You won't believe how many girlfriends I have now! And they ALL wanted to take me home!

KATIE:  Yeah? So what went wrong?

WAFFLES:  Whattaya mean, what went wrong? 

KATIE:  Why didn't you go home with one of your *girlfriends*?
