YOUR Pet in a TV Commercial?

How cool is THAT? 1-800-PetMeds® is hosting their Calling All Pets Sweepstakes and Contest. One cat and one dog will land a starring role in the next 1-800-PetMeds® commercial. Entering couldn't be easier! Just a little info about you and your *star* pet, a winning photo and you're on your way! Entries close on May 12, 2015 so don't dilly dally!  

Entering is SO Easy... 

Even Waffles Can Do it!

Just visit the entry page and fill out a little info about you and your pet. You'll need to write a 100-words or less somethin'-somethin' about why they're a star to you. Submit a photo and you're done! Once Waffles decided on which picture he wanted to use, it took us only a few minutes to enter.

The PetMeds people will send you an email as soon as your entry is posted. We entered at breakfast time and heard back from them before lunch!

Here's How it Works:

Each week during the submission period (April 1-May 12) four entrants will be randomly selected as winners of the weekly prizes which include a 3-pack of flea and tick preventative, a pet first aid kit and a $50 1-800-PetMeds® gift certificate. A total of 24 of these nifty prize packages will be awarded to the weekly winners.

These 24 winners (12 cats and 12 dogs) will continue onto the next phase of the contest where their friends and fans can vote for them to determine the top ten finalists (five cats and five dogs). Voting will be open May 20, 2015 - June 3, 2015.

From top ten finalists, a panel of judges will determine the Grand Prize winning pet in each category who will star in a future 1-800-PetMeds® TV commercial.

Isn't it perfectly awesome that there'll be an equal number of dog and CAT winners? Big kudos to PetMeds® from the kitties!

How Many Times Can I Enter?

Only one entry per person, per category (cat or dog) per week. Entries will be included in the weekly drawing for the week their entry was received as well as all of the following weekly drawings. 

KATIE:  So I can enter NEXT week? And the next??? Who says Waffles is the only star in the family!

But Wait, There's MORE!
As if starring in a 1-800-PetMeds® commercial wasn't cool enough... the winning cat and dog will each receive a Sony 55" LED 2160p Smart 3D 4K Ultra HD TV valued at $2,999.99! Waffles has no idea what all those numbers and letters mean, but he does know that he'd look pretty handsome on a screen like that! Can you say TV commercial viewing party???

A Little Fine Print
The Calling All Pets Sweepstakes and Contest is open to only legal residents of the fifty United States including the District of Columbia who are at least 18 years of age or older (19 in Nebraska, Delaware, and Alabama and 21 in Mississippi) on the date of entry. There are a number of rules for the contest,  so be sure to check out the official rules page if you have any questions about entering or the contest itself.

Donation LOOT & a Giveaway to BOOT!

WAFFLES:  Hi everybuddy, Waffles here. 

Did you know I have a new job???  I'm the official LOOT Inspector for the PetMeds Suggest a Shelter in Need Program! Last month the Boss announced that 1800PetMeds is partnering with GLOGIRLY on this cool year-long program.

Each quarter, they send my shelter kitty pals at Minnesota's Feline Rescue $500 worth of LOOT.  This month, in addition to the big donation, they sent a few things here to the Townhouse so that I could test them out before we deliver them over to my shelter friends.

I take my new job very seriouslies. It's important to check out ALL the loot, inside and out.

WAFFLES:  This small pet carrier and bag is very fancy. You can't see, but it's got WHEELS. This pink hog's got a top speed of 3 mph. 4 mph on the hardwoods!

WAFFLES:  This is a pet crate from Pet Gear. It says it's for dogs, but it's an awesome kitty-hiding-spot. Did you know it's magic??? When I'm inside, I'm INVISIBLE!

WAFFLES:  The shelter kitties are going to LOVE this bunkbed & playroom. I'm pretty sure it's got magic invisible powers too. You can't see me, right?

WAFFLES:  The Boss and I took the Frolicat Pounce Teaser out for a spin. The mouse darts around in circles through the cheese holes. I think if I catch it, I get cheese. 

KATIE:  Cheese? I'm not holding my breath.

WAFFLES: Awww, c'mon Boss, you LOVE cheese! 

The Donation Haul
There's so much loot, we're going to need a truck to carry it all! In addition to the giant stack of stuff, there's a heated bed pad that I'm sure can sleep at least three.

The Boss and I have been saving up extra food to add to the donation. We think the shelter cats are going to be really happy. Of course the happiest thing of all would be for them to find new forever homes where they can have great stuff like Bird TV and their very own sofa to snuggle on with their human. But these things will make their stay in the shelter a little happier and a little more comfortable.

A Year of Giving

Hi everyone, Katie here.

We're here with Molly, the 1800PetMeds Cat, to share some exciting news with you for 2014! We're proud to announce that GLOGIRLY.com is now part of a wonderful donation project in partnership with PetMeds called Suggest A Shelter In Need.

Every quarter, our favorite hometown shelter, Feline Rescue Inc, will receive a giant gift shipment of cool stuff for the shelter kitties. Each donation, valued at $500, will include everything from medications and food to treats, toys, beds and furniture.

You may have heard us talk about this wonderful rescue before. Whenever there's a contest or opportunity to leverage our blog to help these kitties, we try to jump right in. Minnesota's Feline Rescue Inc is a small local shelter making a big difference for homeless and endangered cats throughout our state. Funded through private donations and run completely by volunteers, it's a shelter that has won our hearts here at GLOGIRLY.

So when the kind people at 1800PetMeds invited us to partner with them and select a shelter to support, we were tickled to tell them about Feline Rescue.

As if the generous donations aren't enough, they're letting us choose some cool stuff to try out here at the Townhouse!

Glogirly's been cleaning like mad. Doing laundry. Spending an inordinate amount of time making beds. But I know better. This is not the *good* kind of bed making. The writing's on the wall, kitties.

Houseguests, INCOMING.

WAFFLES TOO:  Um, Boss?  What's a Houseghost? 

KATIE:  Houseguest, Waffles. Houseguest.

WAFFLES TOO:  Um, Boss? How come you don't like Houseghosts?

KATIE:  Sheesh, Waffles. What kind of cat are you? Houseguest is just a kinder, gentler word for unwanted intruder. They bring smelly luggage with them. They sleep over. They don't know ANY of the rules. Like, don't talk to, touch or even look at Katie.

WAFFLES TOO:  But um, Boss? This sounds kinda fun. I like talking, touching and looking. I bet these Houseghosts have toes too. I like toes.

KATIE:  Go ahead, Waffles. Have at their toes.  *under breath...we'll see how THAT goes over*

Waffles Too and I are on a mission. A mission to win the 1-800-PetMeds Cat Naps & Dog Dreams Competition.
