Approximately five years, three months, four days, and 8 hours ago, everything changed. That's the moment in time Glogirly fell in love with a tiny orange kitten. She named him Waffles before she even met him, despite the fact she had no idea if his personality would match his name. If you've been reading our blog for as long as a couple of days or so, you already know it does.
Soon after his arrival, like 60 seconds, heads were spinning. Especially Katie's.
It was at that moment that Katie became known as the Boss to the furry orange whirlwind and here on our blog. You could say it was a Fasten Your Seatbelts kind of moment.
After a few days in kitten quarantine, the door to Waffles' new world opened. Here's how that first face-to-face encounter went.

WAFFLES: Who are you? Are you my mom? You don't look like my mom?
KATIE: I'm NOT your mom.
WAFFLES: So if you're not my mom, who are you?
KATIE: I'm the Boss of you.
WAFFLES: Nice to meet you, Boss of You.
KATIE: I'm not the Boss of ME, I'm the Boss of YOU.
WAFFLES: Ok, nice to meet you, Boss of You.
KATIE: You can call me just Boss.
WAFFLES: Ok, Just Boss. So is Just your first name and Boss your last name? Or–
KATIE: *sigh* This is going to be a long blog post.
KATIE: It's Boss. Not Just Boss. Just Boss.

WAFFLES: Wow, things are really confusing here.
KATIE: It's pretty simple, Waffles. You only have to remember two things.
1. I'm the Boss.
2. Personal space. Always maintain an appropriate distance.
WAFFLES: You mean like this?
KATIE: Too close! Too close?
All-Access
After that first face-to-face, Glogirly kept a close eye on Waffles and Katie. Whenever she was home, Waffles enjoyed an all-access pass to the whole house. Still, for a few days, she'd tuck him into bed for the night inside the kitten room.
She couldn't take the cute pink nose peeking through the door crack for very long though, and within just a few days, Waffles was officially OUT.
