Gamer Week Day 5 - Mystery Date!

Hi everyone, Katie here.

Welcome back! It's the final day of Gamer Week here at GLOGIRLY.  All week we've been celebrating Glogirly's favorite games from her youth.  Today's game is a VERY special one. Just about every little girl wanted to go out with a handsome prince. How many of you remember sleepovers with Coca-Cola and every girl's favorite game - MYSTERY DATE!

Glogirly never had her own. But her older cousin had the game and Glogirly thought she was SO COOL.

I've customized the bachelors just a bit...I think you'll notice the dates are now some of the Blogosphere's most handsome mancats. No nerds here.

So ladies, what do you think?  Who's YOUR mystery date?

In case you're wondering, that handsome Tuxie is one of my new friends. His name is Spaghetti Bob and he's a Registered Therapy Cat. He doesn't have a blog, but he's got an awesome FACEBOOK PAGE. I bet you can guess who designed it for him! ; )  Say hi to Bob and tell him Katie sent you.

Gamer Week Day 4 - Monopoly!

Hi everyone, Katie here.

Welcome back to Gamer Week.  We've been celebrating Glogirly's favorite childhood games all week. Today's game is a very special one. Just about everyone has some magical Monopoly memories.

Glogirly LOVED games. And she REALLY loved Monopoly. But she was an only child, so often she had to persuade her mom and day to play with her. Her peeps were patient indeed.  Have you ever played Monopoly with only 3 players?  The game can last for HOURS. DAYS even. Glogirly honed her negotiation skills early in life by buying out her first losing opponent, thus dragging out the game for even MORE hours. Competitive AND persuasive. Her parents never stood a chance.

She says she'd ONLY play if she could have the dog game piece. DOG???  Apparently there was no cat. Major flaw in the original game design. Major.

The Original Green Papers

Even so, us cats picked up on the frenzy. I'm pretty sure the term "green papers" stemmed from the original Monopoly currency. Did I mention that Glogirly ALWAYS wanted to be the banker?  What a control freak. Suspicious too.

During my exhaustive research for this post...YES, I research my material... I discovered someone beat me to the punch. Did you know there's a real Cat-opoly game?

The box cover could use a little help from GLOGIRLY DESIGN. Those cats scare me just a little.

But check out THESE game pieces. WAY better than an old shoe and a stupid iron.

Hi everyone, Katie here.

Welcome back to Gamer Week! !e're celebrating Glogirly's favorite games from her yout and today's game is *Clue.* Who doesn't love a good murder mystery?  Unless of course you're Miss Scarlet and you did it in the library with the candlestick. Oh, my....did I really say that?

So I hear another mouse has turned up dead. I don't have Clue. Do you?

Whodunnit?

Gamer Week Day 2 - Candyland

Hi everyone, Katie here.

Welcome back to Gamer Week.  We're celebrating Glogirly's favorite games from her youth all week.  Today's game is Candyland!  According to Glogirly, just about EVERY kid in America grew up on Candyland. It was her very first game.  Candyland was responsible for igniting her hunger for play.  And for gumdrops.

Personally I think the whole game could benefit from a little catnip-makeover.

I'd MUCH rather frolic in the catnip forest than climb the gumdrop mountains.

And don't you think Gingy looks better with cat ears?

GLOGIRLY!!! Not the ears!!!

Oh, the risks of playing with sweet treats.

Gamer Week Day 1 - Wheel Of Fortune

Hi everyone, Katie here.

Now that the Olympic Games have come to a close, Glogirly and I are getting down to serious business. This week we're celebrating Glogirly's Favorite Games.  Growing up, she LOVED games. Still does. So each day this week, I'M going to get a chance to play one of her faves.

Today's game is dedicated to her dad. Glogirly has many fond memories of watching *The Wheel* with her dad. They were fiercely competitive. Glogirly relished the few times she could kick her own dad's you-know-what.

She'll never forget the night she solved a really long puzzle before a single letter was guessed.  Even her DAD was impressed. Here's that very puzzle.  Can you solve it?

Want a little extra credit?  Solve the first puzzle, *Famous Cats.*

UPDATE -
Whoa kitties! I can see I'm in a heap of trouble for choosing only a few famous cats.  Well Glogirly's Photoshop prowess is only so good...she found a puzzle with the white boxes and had to pick cats whose names fit. ...I know, Sparkle was an obvious choice for #3, but that would have been WAY too easy!
