*Meanwhile on the set of This Old Townhouse, the water extraction equipment rumbles at a decibel level just shy of a jet airplane on takeoff.*
WAFFLES: Hey Boss?
KATIE: Did you say something, Waffles?
WAFFLES: What?
KATIE: What?
WAFFLES: Huh?
KATIE: WHAT???
KATIE: Play TOSS???
WAFFLES: CREAM SAUCE?!
KATIE: It always comes back to food with you, doesn't it?
Tsunami at the Townhouse
In case you're just tuning in, we've had a little bit of a water spill here on Friday afternoon. Due to a faulty dishwasher, a hot water tsunami splashed it's way from the second floor down to the first floor of our humble, and wet, 3-level abode. We're currently in the drying-out phase which means we have about a dozen industrial fans and humidifiers blowing 24/7. Unless you're in the upstairs bedroom, it's hard to hear yourself think.
Though Glogirly and Gloman are concerned with things like hardwood floors, the garage, the ceilings... Waffles and Katie are mourning the temporary loss of their litter room. No worries though, everyone's getting used to doing their business in new locations with a lot of interesting background noise.
Chaos Makes the Heart Grow Fonder
Katie and Waffles, usually independent throughout their daily routines, have been keeping very close to one another. It seems that chaos makes the heart grow fonder. Or at least makes you forget your differences.
Speaking of water... Did you see our Baywatch Cats post yesterday?

When all is said and done, we kitties here all look out for each other. That was true when Sparkle was here too.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice that when the going gets wet the two of them stick together
ReplyDeleteAt least no cats were watered!
ReplyDeleteWe know how the kitties feel! Panzer and Pagan Eddie (and I) had a washing machine malfunction this past week.
ReplyDeleteWe think that new hardwood flooring, dishwasher and metal connecting hoses, ceiling tiles, paint and some other collateral materials are in your near future. Until things are all done, you can stay with us. I like cats and your dollar is worth more.
ReplyDeleteJust as long as y'all don't get wet paws.
ReplyDeleteWorking equipment's noise can be awful and very scary ! At least, you're dry... Purrs
ReplyDeleteGotta stick together when things are scary ... Gulp!!! It's always about food here!
ReplyDeleteYou are so right about chaos making the heart grow fonder! Mom says when anything scary happened all three cats would hide in the closet together. Love Dolly Pees: So sorry about the water!!
ReplyDeleteYep, chaos seems to overrule anything else that's going on.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry about your flood. We hope things dry out soon and at least the noisy part can be over and done with.
ReplyDeleteHappy Mother's Day!!
Kitties always have each other's backs, no matter what. Even (as Mommy tells our vet) they "tolerate each other". Hope your house dries out soon!
ReplyDeleteGood to know that when thinks get tough or scary..Katie and Waffles stick together...Happy Mother's Day Debbie!!!
ReplyDeleteAh how sweet that you do like each other! Gemini and Ichiro even liked each other during the move... ;).
ReplyDeleteThat's how it works here, too. When push comes to shove, we all look out for each other. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Mother's Day to Mom Glogirly!
When scary things happen, there is safety in numbers.
ReplyDeleteJust think you're going to be getting an entirely new two levels! I know it's not the way you may have wanted to go about it....but we are glad that it can all be replaced.
ReplyDeleteHappy Mother's Day!
Annabelle,Boo,Ping, and Mr Jinx.
Happy Mother's Day Glogirly :) Sorry about the water situation, that can be so damaging.
ReplyDeleteour hearts go out to you....that has to be horrendous. Praying the "cleanup" and repairs go more smoothly than you are anticipating.
ReplyDeletewow - we hope you dry out soon. sounds like suddenly the orange menace isn't so bad when faced with giant vaccuums
ReplyDeletePoor Katie and Waffles. I know industrial fans. The other days they washed the rug in our hallway and set 2 of those industrial fans. I can't imagine what a dozzen sound like. One night they actually left a fan on outside our door and TW complained until they came to get it. Meanwhile, you got it 24/7.
ReplyDeleteSorry about the flood!! Happy Mother's Day to you!
ReplyDeleteHope you get some peace and quiet soon. Plus a dry house!
ReplyDeleteHope you dry out and are able to hear yourselves think very soon!
