Crossing the Line with Waffles & Katie

WAFFLES:  So Boss, which side of the line is mine?

KATIE:  The other side of the line, Waffles.

WAFFLES:  But how do I know if this side of the line is this side of the line, or if this side of the line is the other side of the line?

KATIE:  Waffles, all you need to remember is that whatever side of the line I'm on, that's MY side of the line. Your side of the line is the other side of the line.

WAFFLES:  But Boss?

KATIE:  What.

WAFFLES:  You're standing on BOTH sides of the line.

KATIE:  Waffles, I think you're catching on.

WAFFLES:  I guess the Boss takes her lines very seriously.

About Today's Photos
Repairs continue in the Townhouse. Today's photos are from our lower level guest bedroom, a.k.a the Red Room. Glogirly wants to rearrange the furniture when it comes back in so she put down some blue painters tape to make sure there was enough room for the big pieces.

Of course the camera wasn't ready when she started positioning the tape so you'll just have to take our word for it when we tell you what happened next.

Every time she positioned the tape to represent a piece of furniture, both Katie and Waffles would immediately go inside the shape and sit down. It was like the blue tape represented walls they couldn't pass through. This happened with each virtual piece of furniture, one after another after another.

By the time Glogirly was done taping (and giggling) she ran for her camera. But by the time she came back it was too late and the game was apparently over.

Have you ever seen such a thing?

  5. I've heard about this phenomenon - in fact, my human tried it once! But it did not work here. Probably because we kitties knew it was meant for us, and not something she was doing on her own.

  12. that is just too funny!!! I am wondering if they can see the color blue or if it was the shape itself that attracted them?

  13. That is so weird! I guess they wanted to be a part of whatever it was you were up to. They were smart enough to realize that something impawtant was going on inside the tape! Pets amaze us don't they?

  23. I had blue tape around the walls where I'm going to install more cat shelving, and that includes in between the windows at the front of the apartment. Lulu was fascinated. She sat on my bed and tried to determine how to reach above it to get to the markers for the shelving that will go across the wall where my bed is; and then would get up on the highest existing shelf where she pulled down the tape she could get to...was too funny. She also meowed at the tape. I removed it and the meowing stopped. It's like she knows that's going to be her cat walk and she can't wait!
I think Katie and Waffles were sitting on all the virtual pieces of furniture to make sure they are comfortable with Glogirly's design scheme... :)

  24. Very strange. Probably trying to decide if they would like where you are planning to put the furniture. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
