It's Always Lunchtime Somewhere #WafflesWednesday

WAFFLES:  Is it lunchtime yet? It's got to be lunchtime somewhere, right?

WAFFLES:  Hmmm... I better figure out what I want to order for lunch. I hear the food here is really good.

WAFFLES:  Uh, Garçon!

WAFFLES:  Uh wait... what's a garçon?  Is it like a kind of fancy chicken? Extra-crispy fancy chicken?

About Today's Photos
Today's post originally appeared here on August 12, 2015. Waffles was particularly excited about mealtime and we couldn't help but think of this post. He's goofy when it comes to food. Somedays it's as if his whole universe is food, food, food. Other days, he's all about the red dot. Like obsessively all about the red dot. And other days he's sacked out on the blue chair.

Those of you that have been with us for a few years might remember Katie in this same blue chair. Well, Waffles knows a good thing when he sees it. About 24 hours after he was sprung from the kitten room almost 3 years ago, he staked his claim.

Would you believe Katie has not sat in that chair since?

Katie, three years (and three pounds!) ago.

We're pretty sure if she wanted it she'd take it. But there's something to be said for making a statement. And Katie is most definitely a cat of principle. She won't give Waffes the satisfaction of knowing how coveted that chair really is.

Or maybe she just doesn't want orange fur between her toes.

  1. Maybe Katie is wondering why you haven't bought a second blue chair

  2. You get LUNCH, Waffles?! I don't get ANY lunch! Binga and Boodie do, supposedly because they are older and need more food because they don't metabolize food as well as I do. I think it's just to shut up Binga.

  10. Patty had a great idea : why not a second blue chair ? And you're right, Waffles, it's always lunchtime somewhere : for example, when it's 5AM by you, it's midday in Switzerland : lunchtime ! Purrs

  11. We think Katie doesn't want the blue chair now because it has Waffles' smell on it. Just isn't the same...

  13. I very much enjoy reading about Katie and Waffles. I am gwetting used to having cats in the house after having only a dog for over 10 years. It is very much a different experience.

  16. You make the rules, Katie! Ya heard! I do the binge and starve routine. Some days it's all about the food and some days I eat very little. Keeps 'em guessing and keeps me trim.
