Hi everyone, Katie here.
Glogirly's been having fun lately reliving some of her favorite television shows from WAY back with a little help from me and Waffles.
She says that since there's not much worth watching on any of OUR 583 channels, we may as well return to a simpler time when growing up 'Brady' was cool and the closest thing to 'Survivor' was Gilligan's Island.
In fact if you missed our homage to these two TV classics, you're welcome to take a TV Trip down memory lane. We've got some nice ear worms waiting for you.
So What's YOUR Favorite TV Classic?
We've decided to make these TV Trips a semi-regular feature on GLOGIRLY. After all, wouldn't ANY show be better with cats??? Game shows, cop shows, sit coms and dramas...the possibilities are endless. So let us know in the comments what YOUR favorite television classic is and well add it to our upcoming TV Trip line up.
Oh, and if you say American Idol, well... you are excused and may leave now.

ReplyDeleteALF, I Love Lucy, All in the Family, Munsters, Mister Ed, Lassie. I'm a TV addict and need to think some more :)
The Munsters! I can see Katie as Grandpa...
ReplyDeleteYou got one of our favorites, but looking back we loved Daktari and Get Smart (the series). More recently, what about M.A.S.H? Of course, that's not really a Waffles kind of place is it?!
ReplyDeleteMunsters, Get Smart, Beverly Hillbillies and Bewitched.
ReplyDeleteOh my Cod!!!
ReplyDeleteYou guys are pawsome! We're not going to have to channel surf for a whole YEAR!!!
: )
Star Trek, Miami Vice, Dark Shadows...
ReplyDeleteThis is so exciting! I can't stop my tail from wagging. Some of the shows that the pawents watch thanks to Netflix or even Youtube are:
ReplyDeleteI dream of Jeannie, the Munsters,Il love Lucy, the Love Boat, Andy Griffith ,Beverly Hillbillies, ooh I could name so many more!
Let's not forget FANTASY ISLAND!
ReplyDeleteI can already see (and hear) Waffles...
ReplyDelete"Da Plane! Da Plane!"
; )
Superman
ReplyDeleteI'm old
ReplyDeleteHow about "Bridget Loves Bernie"? Tee-hee!
ReplyDeleteMy human liked, um... Seinfeld! Which she watched on reruns at her boyfriend's apartment when she first started seeing him. Well, that WAS 20 years ago, so that counts as vintage, right? She was never much of one for TV and in fact, did not even have a TV from the time she moved out of her parents' house until her boyfriend moved in with her and brought his TV. When she was little her favorite show was old Laurel and Hardy shorts.
ReplyDeleteOh, but Monkees reruns were cool - she favored Mike. And years later had a crush on him still when he was executive producer of Repo Man and she was supervising assistant editor!
The Love Boat (my favorite), Dukes of Hazard, Chips, Magnum P.I. Have you done Glogirly's Angels?
ReplyDeleteGreen Acres! I can see Katie ♪I just adore the townhouse view♪
ReplyDelete~Vicat
Happy Days, Magnum, Starsky and Hutch, Catch me if you can, Les mystères de l'Ouest (don't know the English title, but Will Smith made a movie of it a decade ago with cow boys, a train, and a crazy scientist), Chapeau melon et bottes de cuir (characters are John Steed and Emma Peel), The Saint (with the beautiful Roger Moore), ... Enough ? Purrs
ReplyDeleteI don't even remember! I have what I call TV narcolepsy. I might look forward to a show, but then fall asleep. It happens in a nanosecond, so there is no fighting it. I have always liked commercials, though. Maybe because I can watch the whole thing.
ReplyDeleteWow! They've mentioned all the shows I think I ever watched!
ReplyDeleteMurder She Wrote. What about the game show Love Connection? LOL
ReplyDeleteA lot of people mentioned the ones I like already.
The mom is always trying to make us into a Seinfield episode.
ReplyDeleteYour TV shows are great!
Mary Tyler Moore, the producers used a tabby kitten at the end instead of a lion roaring. Love Dolly
ReplyDeleteI"m not sure why it jumped to mind first because there were definitely other shows I liked more, but CHiPs came to mind immediately. Love all the suggestions in the comments!
ReplyDeleteLaverne & Shirley! :)
ReplyDeleteThe Partridge Family (Waffles as Danny) Batman (from the 60's), Dragnet, It takes a Thief, Rowan & Martin's Laugh-in (Katie as Dan Rowen & Waffles as Dick Martin), McHale's Navy, The Andy Griffith Show, The Time Tunnel, and every other show already mentioned..
ReplyDeleteWe asked Mom & she said....The Addams Family, Fraggle Rock, Iron Chef (Japanese version) and Dukes of Hazzard.
ReplyDeleteDallas! I think Katie would make a great JR!
ReplyDeleteWhen Mom was in HS her favorite was The Sonny & Cher Comedy Hour. Goodness she wishes they would reshow those episodes! Katie we see you as Cher and oh boy Waffles would make a great Sonny! (Mom also admits Dark Shadows was a huge favorite of hers when she was in jr high!)
ReplyDeleteEVERY single ONE mentioned are those that Mom would have helped me suggest!!!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Martian?
ReplyDeleteALF!
ReplyDeleteOne of my all time faves was "Welcome Back Kotter"...also "The Monkees"...........
ReplyDeleteof course "Lassie" (sorry!!)........."Gidget"........"Bewitched" I'm older than you so I could keep going and going.......lol..........oh and "Punky Brewster"........"Leave it to Beaver", "Father Knows Best" and many, many more!

ReplyDeleteHow about The Addams Family???
ReplyDeleteThank you SO much everyone!!! You're ideas are WONDERFUL and we can't wait to get started!

Does Seinfeld count? Or how about All in the Family with W2 as the Dingbat. MOL! TW used to like The Mary Tyler Moore Show and Happy Days. Speaking of Ron Howard, how about that dumb show with Opie?
ReplyDeleteLove the Bewitched and I Dream of Jeannie ideas...our fave was Emergency!
ReplyDeleteOMG - we love them all. Anything with the two of you in it will be awesome.
ReplyDeleteI loved the old tv shows! Gilligan's island, Brady Bunch, Partridge family and Saturday mornings meant Paul Revere & the Raiders and The Monkees! Rock out!! BOL!! Bark More, Growl Less Barking from the Bayou!
ReplyDeleteI dream of Jeannie and The Honeymooners. I love the old shows too.

Wow the voice huh Waffles? well you look a little more like Miami Vice with those shades - where's your fast car?
ReplyDeleteWe rode the school bus, and it was always a rush to get home for The Partridge Family (David Cassidy was a dream boat...but not anymore), The Brady Bunch, The Beverly Hillbillies.
ReplyDeleteLate on I recall watching Hill Street Blues, Dallas, and the Carol Burnett Show.
Boy this brings back memories!
What about "Taxi, or "Get Smart?"
ReplyDeleteWould love to see The Odd Couple or Perfect Strangers!

ReplyDeleteMommy says she is working with one brain cell after the Quest at Cat Scouts so has two that are only a tiny bit old and one slightly older: Fraiser (with a cat as a nemesis for Eddie), Will & Grace (with a cat that talks like Karen) and Mork and Mindy (with a Mork talking cat, of course). Really excited to see which show you pick next. XO, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
