Sunday Table Manners FAIL

Hi everyone, Katie here.

Etiquette is important to me. I'm fastidious. I'm clean. I'm organized. Not a fur out of place.

Breakfast or dinner, Miss Manners would be impressed. No flapping tongues, no flying food. A dish for everything and everything in it's dish.

You should SEE the pile he leaves on the floor. That is before I clean it up.

Who's the messy eater in YOUR house?
And more important, who's on clean-up duty?!

  1. Johnny is the untidiest eater in the WORLD! Kibbles, wet fuuds, you serve it and he'll fling it! He takes a mouthful of kibble and broadcasts it all. over. the. floor.

Mommy, of course, cleans it all up. 'Cos we'd never eat what's been flung! Only barfed. Mmmmmmm, warm dinners...

  2. I am pretty neat, though my fudz dishes is on a nice tray, so if I spill, it doesn't matter much. One of the kitties before me used to recline by his bowl like a Roman Emperor and scoop his food out onto the floor before he ate it, MOL!

  3. Stinky the Farm cat has the unfortunate habit of taking chunks of wet food to various places, eating a bit and then "saving" the rest for a later that never comes until I step in it.

  4. Ichiro takes a large chunk out of the dish and carries it across the room. Sometimes he decides not to finish it...

  5. Katie, I'm ashamed to say we are ALL messy around here! Including my human. She eats most of her meals at her desk, and she has to put a napkin on her laptop!

  6. The one cool thing about being a naked cat is that even when we're messy, we clean up very well.

  10. At least Waffles is only throwing food at you which you can enjoy! We are all messy & mommy has to point out the food on the floor so we mop it up!

  13. I'm ashamed to confess that I am a messy eater. Really. Everybody in the house totally agree. Sigh... Purrs. Zorro

  14. Both of my kitties will occasionally take a bite of food from the dish, set it on the new carpet and then eat it... Leo will also take hard food from the bowl with a paw and put it on the floor, but he eats those too.. My cats clean up after themselves I guess.
    Katie, I like your style!

  16. Actually we hardly ever spill any food...Dad, on the other paw, gets more on the floor fixing it than we do eating it!

  17. Newton is a messy eater, but he is left closed in the bedroom where he eats long enough because of how slowly Ashton eats that he usually cleans up after himself. Ashton only gets messy when the head peep is bringing her back to her bowl for the fifth time or so. We need to make a video about what a process dinner is with her.

  18. Katie, believe it or not, Ernie is the messy eater around here...not that I don't do my fair share of making a mess too. But I am the cleaner around here. Not only do I clean up any mess I make...I clean up Ernie's mess as well. Ha! It means I always get a little extra to eat. :)

  19. Well...he IS only a boy. I'm very tidy unless I happen to have a mouthful of kibble when Mum says 'snacks'...then *hangs head* I spit the kibble out in the floor so I can have snacks. But a girl has to have priorities doesn't she?

  20. In our house the messy ones are Tubby and Charlie. Cashew is on clean up duty. He never turns down food. LOL.

  21. Poor Katie! Wubbikins feels her pain…she deals with sloppy novice mannered foster kittens all the time!

  22. Miss Boo is actually the tidiest and everyone else digs in. MOL

  23. Jenna is a very untidy eater. She even has a vinyl placemat under her plate. She licks her food first to get the sauce then later she eats the meat. Well, whatever is left on the plate...

  24. We sort of take turns being messy, but Astrid is definitely the clean-up kitty. Any morsel of food left behind is gobbled up, including any stuck to the outside of the bowl. We would have guessed pretty easily who the messy eater is in your house. MOL. Purrs and hugs, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

  25. Oh this soooo made me laugh!!! My Angel Bobo used to eat just like Waffles, (I had forgotten, thanks for reminding me!) Cody inhales his food, he eats it so fast that not a speck will fall on the floor or the side of the bowl lol. Actually, Dakota is pretty neat too....just my Angel Bobo used to do that! xoxo

  26. In this house it's, of course, the dog. And the Dad.

  27. I am a careful eater and just take little nibbles. If it is something I have decided I don't like though, I scoop it out to eat off my paw and then fling it on the fridge door.

  28. Love the contrast between Katie and Waffles' noming styles. I'd say Wilbur is the neatest eater. Skootch takes larger chunks out of his dish and chews them on the floor. Louie is pretty tidy, just because he's food obsessed.

  29. Derby is the sloppy and fast eater. Ducky takes his time and is neat.

So it isn't an orinch cat thing.

  30. TW sez I’m a sloppy eater but it’s her who spills my food while pouring it. This morning she missed her cereal bowl and poured the milk on the placemat. HAH!

  31. Hmmm, we don't have any messy eaters like that here. The only mess we make is with kibble. We tend to drop crumbs around and usually manage to drop a piece in the water bowl even though Jan says she could row a boat between the bowls.

  32. For us it's also our little orange rascal Jack who does both the messing of the food and the clean up of everyone's food. And stealing everyone's food!!

  33. Katie, me is a terrible messy eater, so is Jo-Jo. It is Kozmo who cleans up after us!

  34. Allie: Oh girlfriend, we mirror each other in soooooo many ways! (Although for once, it's not Faraday I'm complaining about. Seriously, boycats are just SO sloppy.)
