Hi everyone, Katie here.
Glogirly has always been big on etiquette. Her mom taught her where the right forks and spoons go, how to write a thank you note and how to respect one's personal space.
It's only fitting that I pass on this kind of knowledge to Waffles in his formative years. Keep in mind we're talking about a cat whose table manners include sniffing butts and stealing food. Let's just say the learning curve is STEEP.
So I've been working on the whole personal space thing with him. In the beginning, Waffles had no understanding of the concept. If I was playing with a toy, he'd hijack it right out of my paws with absolutely no hesitation.
A couple months into the nightmare, he began respecting (barely) my personal space, even when a toy was involved. As long as I kept the toy within a 6" radius of me, he'd keep his sticky paws to himself.
Soon we graduated to a full 12".
Currently we're holding strong at a 15" toy radius.
I was hoping for 15 MILES. Baby steps.
