We hope you enjoy laughing with us as much as we enjoy laughing at ourselves.

Closer Everyday

Hi everyone, Katie here.

You may have noticed my new blog header. I figure that since Waffles Too is apparently here to stay, I had better make him part of the action in order to keep the peace. Fine. Just as long as I'm bigger, I'm prettier and I'm smarter.

Many of you have expressed concern that I may be rolling over, wimping out on showing the orange boy who's in charge. Let me assure you this is not the case. The camera can't move quickly enough to capture my swift right hook or the impact of my left whap. They are indeed there. The boy-beast knows. He still tests me everyday, but he gets a little smarter everyday too.

In the meantime, we're getting our easy on this fine Sunday. The last Sunday of 2012. Still, I hesitate to completely close my eyes.

The New OMG Cat

Hi everyone, Katie here.

Move over, OMG Cat. There's a new kitty in town whose shock and awe expression can be inspired by only only thing. Waffles. Waffles TOO to be exact. And I'm not talking breakfast.

The Scene
A beautiful new climbing structure designed specifically for the modern cat. Glossy white finish, it's a perfect accent to my classic tuxedo fur.




The Opposition
My arch rival, Waffles Too if we must call him by name, sizes up the new structure.

The Hostile Takeover 
The pea-eyed monster has claimed MY new climbing structure as his own. I guess SOMEONE needs to feel BIG by looking down upon the rest of the world. Fine. Yes, you may have the sprightly physique of a young kitten, the ability to leap tall climbing structures at a single bound...but hear me now and hear me well – I'm in this for the long game.

Eyes In The Back Of My Head

Hi everyone Katie here.

Do not be alarmed. I haven't gone all "Linda-Blair-Exorcist" on you. My head is not spinning. I have however, developed eyes in the back of my head. Never really needed this super power until recently. Seems to have come about in conjunction with the arrival of a certain orange pea-eyed monster kitten.

I obviously need to work on my mealtime technique a bit more.



Sheesh. My green frog is even watching. How humiliating.

On The Mend

Glogirly is doing her best to feel better. She's still way under the weather, but seems to be allowing Waffles Too a shot at the title of nurse. Thank you for all your well-wishes. She insisted on wearing the  eye wrinkle concealing sleep mask in the photo as opposed to going au naturale.

The Day After

Hi everyone, Katie here.

Would you believe that Christmas almost didn't happen???

Glogirly and Gloman have BOTH been sick. Gloman went to urgent care on Sunday and Glogirly went on Christmas Eve.  You will not BELIEVE who Glogirly saw at urgent care just a few hours before he was to board his sleigh. That's right. The man in red. Well actually he was wearing jeans and a plaid shirt, but there was no mistaking his identity.

It was Santa.

Glogirly was unable to photograph the real Santa, what with being inside urgent care and all. But he looked just like this guy, only shorter.

Glogirly eavesdropped as best she could. He said his name was Croft or something and that he had a "party" to get to. Sounded suspicious.

He seemed to have some sort of special clearance and went in ahead of everyone in the waiting room. That was the last she saw of him.

They must have made him better, because although I never saw him, I KNOW he made a stop here at the Townhouse. Waffles Too was supposed to keep me awake, so it's all his fault I missed seeing Santa.  But thankfully he still left us a nice pile of kitty loot.



So now I'm giving Waffles Too some advanced nurses training. With both Glogirly and Gloman sipping cough suppressant cocktails and visiting with Aunt Biotics day and night, we have our paws full. We're very sorry this has kept us from visiting and commenting on all of your blogs, but we've been reading your comments and loving every one of them.


Hey, if you missed the cool video we all made for Gloman, you should check it out. It stars me, of course. But Waffles Too has a drum solo that everyone seems to love. I guess the kid's got a future. Glogirly says the best part of the video was watching Gloman watch it. He was smiling, laughing and wiping his eyes.

KATIE:  Merry Christmas everyone, Katie & Waffles Too here.

WAFFLES TOO:  Um, hi everybuddy. Santa came! Santa came! I'm not sure who Santa is, but he came!

KATIE:  Our Secret Paws came too and we'll tell you all about it once Glogirly photographs the loot!

WAFFLES TOO:  Um, Boss?  Are you gonna tell them about our Christmas movie? You know, the one for Gloman?

KATIE:  We have something cool for you today. Waffles Too and I have been in the studio this week working on a top secret project for Glogirly. She wanted to do something really special for Gloman.

WAFFLES TOO:  And she needed OUR help.

KATIE:  Well, she needed MY help. Yours is more of a supporting role.

WAFFLES TOO:  I love supper rolls.

KATIE:  Glogirly's always saying she's the luckiest girl in the world. You'd think is was because she has ME, the best cat in the world.

WAFFLES:  Huh?

KATIE:  She says she's the luckiest girl in the world because she married Gloman, her best friend.

WAFFLES:  Boss?  Will you be my best friend?

KATIE:  Baby steps, Waffles.  Baby steps.  Now onto the show.

Ready For The Red Man

Hi everyone, Katie here.

I'm ready for Santa. And considering how AMAZINGLY GOOD I've been, I'm anticipating a major haul. I know some of you think I have an *attitude* problem when it comes to Waffles Too. Well let me set the record straight. I have been a perfect lady. Well mannered. Soft spoken. EXTREMELY tolerant. This is BIG when it comes to Santa's list.

The pea-eyed monster on the other hand... well, I predict he's got a big fat lump of coal in HIS future. I've said it before, but it bears repeating. He's a maniac. I was NEVER this out-of-control when *I* was a kitten.

But it's Christmas Eve, so I'm keeping it light.

Glogirly stuck this santa hat on him when he was sleeping. I have it on good authority there are plans to  put it on him tomorrow when he's awake. heh, heh, heh.

We'll be back tomorrow with Christmas fun and wishes for everyone!

Saturday Photohunt *Kindness*

Hi everyone, Katie here.

Today's Saturday Photohunt theme is *Kindness.* I looked and looked for a photo of me and Waffles Too that emulated kindness. Well you can guess how THAT went.

So I chose a photo of me and Glogirly from my first weekend here in my forever home and one of Gloman and Waffles Too. Both of these photos remind me of what it means to have a forever home and a forever family.  It's a feeling of belonging, of feeling safe and loved that I wish every kitty could have.

I may just be a regular (albeit beautiful) cat, but I think that kindness and love go paw in paw. They need each other. And together they become so great and so powerful that they can change the world.

One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest

You've heard the saying *men in white coats* right?  Well I'm predicting paws crossed the *cats in pink coats* will be making an emergency stop here at the Townhouse very soon.

Waffles Too. He's a maniac. He's cuckooo-crazypants.

Oh, stop it already with the senseless cooing and squeeing. Quit drinking the kitten kool aid. This orange boy-beast is certifiable.

Exhibit A:  Waffles Too watches *innocently* while I play with my Fling-A-Ma-String.

Exhibit B:  For no apparent reason, Waffles Too starts breakdancing and flashing me jazz hands.

Exhibit C:  Continued breakdancing.

Exhibit D:  Waffles Too levitates and flees the scene in a wild blur of fur.

The Watcher

I'm a watcher. Everywhere I go. Every single day. I'm watching.
Even when the beast sleeps.  Ok... ESPECIALLY when the beast sleeps. I watch.







Because there's one thing I know for certain.  There's a maniac tucked inside that 4 pound ball of orange fur.

Wha??? Certainly you can't doubt me. Yet, I hear you all day long cooing and squeeing at this Waffles Too character. You can't fool me. But guess what. I have evidence. Tune in tomorrow for photographic proof.

Table Manners

Hi everyone, Katie here.

I've got to hand it to the pea-eyed monster. He may be a little slow, but at least he's starting to learn some basic table manners. 

And Then The Doorbell Rang

Hi everyone, Katie here.

He eats my food. He drinks my water. He sleeps in my bed, scratches my posts, plays with my toys. But now Waffles TOO has gone TOO far.

It was supposed to be an easy Sunday. Lounging, movies and catnip. Until the doorbell rang. It was the Cat Sitter. Wha??? The CAT SITTER. There was no warning. There were no suitcases, no big bowls of food. Certainly no teary goodbyes.

The Cat Sitter had apparently arrived on the invitation of Waffles Too. Wha??? Waffles Too INVITED the Cat Sitter AND her boyfriend over to MY townhouse for NO GOOD REASON. Ok, there's never a good reason for the Cat Sitter. But he invited them over to VISIT.  To PLAY.  For the FUN of it. Can you believe it???

Ignorance is bliss alright. 

Meanwhile I was trapped. Held captive against my will in the SAME room as everyone, INCLUDING the Cat Sitter, forced to watch them play with Waffles Too. They were cooing and squeeing all themselves. It was sickening.

Broken Hearts, Broken Dreams

Our hearts go out to the children, teachers & families affected by yesterday's tragic events in Newtown, Connecticut. We have no words. Only tears.

We'll be back tomorrow with our usual laughs and our Saturday Photohunt post. But today is for family, hugs, cuddles and I love you's.

We don't say it often enough. We love YOU, our friends and readers, so very much. Just knowing we've made you giggle or grin makes our hearts soar. Thank you for sharing the world with us and making us smile.

Her opponent – Waffles TOO. He's been taking the blogosphere by storm with his deceivingly innocent eyes, melt-in-your-mouth caramel stripes and cotton candy nose. Google *cute* and you might just find this bad boy. He cute but he bad.

Round One! Oh Snap! Would you look at those kitten paws and perky ears? Their heads are almost too big for their bodies. This is a tough one alright. Katie's engaging the camera, but Waffles Too is looking awfully coy.

Oh. My. Cod. The head-mush into the blanket shot. This just drips cute. Waffles is looking straight into the lens and giving his best come-cuddle look. But Katie...Wow. She's working the upside-down-paw-touch-cheek thing. It's a well known fact this pose can get her ANYTHING.

Ooooh, SO close. But Katie might have just pulled the blanket out from underneath Waffles on this one.

The inquisitive peek. Look at those whiskers. Innocent and curious expressions. I don't know...Katie is showing her age here a bit. Waffles just might take this. He's got the youth vote and he's doing a bang-up job hiding the maniac within.
