Date Night

Hi everyone, Katie here.

My captors are having a date night. I know the drill. I'll get the old "Bye-Bye Kitty...Love You...See You Later." The garage door will groan shut and I'll be left with a half empty bowl of dry kibble and my lonely toy laying lifeless on the floor.

Meanwhile, Glogirly and Gloman will be enjoying a lavish dinner at their favorite date place, The Capital Grille. I'm sure I won't even come up in conversation. Unless of course one asks the other, "Did you clean Katie's box?" Followed by a, "No. Did you?" And last, another "No."

A similar exchange involving my FOOD could likely take place as well.

Whatever. I'll be fine.

If they REALLY loved me, they'd bring me along.

My wardrobe is more than appropriate for fine dining.

I have excellent table manners.

I guess tonight's just all about THEM.

I know, I already said that.

Hi everyone, Katie here.

What's the perfect accompaniment to a winter storm warning? ...besides naps and kibble that is. Why, Netflixing of course. I'm all over the big Red Box thingy. That requires Glogirly to hoof it all the way to the grocery store. Ok, all the way to the grocery store is only a couple of blocks. But in the middle of a winter storm, her time is best spent with me, attending to my needs.

Glogirly and I have a cute new MacBook Air which means we can enjoy movie viewing anywhere in the townhouse. Have wireless will travel, baby! My perch on the sofa, my easy chair by the fire, or my preferred viewing position...bed.

Back to Netflixing. I'm rather tired of the whole action adventure genre. And there is never enough prey in chick flicks for my taste. I saw my old friends Wallace & Gromit the other night. Two enthusiastic thumbs up for A Matter Of Loaf And Death. I know, I don't have thumbs. Whatever.

Sure wish Gromit would make friends with a CAT though.

I'm over the poodle thing too.

It's all good though. Time spent Netflixing with Glogirly, is time spent with Glogirly.

Act Like A Dog

Hi everyone, Katie here.

I'm sure you thought I was lying dead in a ditch. Well, not to worry. I'm alive and well and holed up in the townhouse watching the snow fall. A blizzard is on it's way. I'm all stocked up with kibble and litter. Toys scattered about. Pillows and blankets all furred up. So I'm good.

Glogirly on the other hand is down to a can of mushroom soup and coke zero.

She's been "busy" with her "new" job. New, schmew. She started the new gig in early December. Hasn't blogged for me since Thanksgiving and it's now the eve of President's day for crying out loud.

As she's been immersing herself in the new job, I've had to practically throw myself at Gloman. Fortunately he is easy to train. All I have to do is act like a dog. I know, humiliating isn't it? But I can get anything I want.

He's been responding particularly well to my play-signals:
  1. I grab my favorite toy in my mouth.
  2. I trot down the steps to wherever he is.
  3. I drop my toy at his feet.
  4. Best to make a bunch of noise in case he's not paying attention.
  5. I sit.
  6. I look at him.
  7. Actually I stare at him.

Works every time.
