Real Katie is beginning to realize the genius of Flat Katie. I blog for her, I travel for her...I even go nose to nose, or in this case head to mouth, with DOGS for her.  Don't worry, that large beast-monster was just a BlogPaws Flat Dog. No one - human, pet or flat was harmed in the making of this photograph.

I was all lathered up, as much as a cat-on-a-stick can be, to meet my blogging pal, Snoopy! Seems Snoops thinks I smell like the real thing, as opposed to foamcore and spraymount.

FINALLY the girl from Minneapolis and the girl from New York City meet. It's been three long years since the virtual meeting of Glogirly and Tamar from I Have Cat. I guess it took Flat Katie to bring them together. This is at the big swanky awards show. You can't see it, but I've got my acceptance speech taped to the back of my head.

So pretty soon, Glogirly is going to catch on. I'm sensing a Flat Glogirly on the horizon. Maybe Flat Glogirly can find a job while the real one hangs at home with me making silly cat pictures.

I'm A Moderncat

Hi everyone, Flat Katie here.

I'm giving Real Katie a rest today so I can tell you more about BlogPaws. One of the paws-down COOLEST things Glogirly and I experienced was the Catification Lounge that Moderncat's Kate Benjamin put together with her pal (yes...she KNOWS him) Jackson Galaxy.

This is Kate Benjamin a.k.a. Miss Moderncat with Moki The Wobbly Cat and ME.
Coincidence that Kate's name is just a little *i* away from mine? I don't think so.

Everyone knows that Moderncat.net features the coolest products for the most discriminating modern cats. There's a ton of great Catification Lounge photos on Moderncat's website.  At the end of the conference they had a drawing and EVERYCAT won a prize! Even the Flat Cats!

Check out my stylish new elevated feeding bowls from Vurv Design. They are perfect for this modern cat's townhome don't you think?

Wordless Wednesday - I Have No Words

Hi Everyone, Katie here.

Ok, I have a FEW words. I knew I rocked long before the PetSmart people gave me a whole new wardrobe.  What you're looking at is thankfully from the Photoshop Collection. Sadly, there is a BlogPaws swag bag with my name on it and a whole bunch of the REAL DEAL. Clothes. And lots of them. From the Bret Michaels Pets Rock Collection for PetSmart - this same dress, a strappy sundress with skulls, a red hoodie and a studded pleather vest. There's talk of a photo shoot here at the townhouse this weekend. Gloman is out of town, so I'm safe for the time being. But as soon as I hear the garage door, I AM oughta here.

And if that's not humiliating enough, the tags all say DOG. They gave me a DOG wardrobe.

But wait. There's more. Literally. They gave me two of just about everything so we're going to have a giveaway in the near future.  If I were you, I'd avoid this place like the feline plague.

Hi everyone, Flat Katie here.

We made it.

• 2,732 miles
• 16 gas stations
• 5 rest stops
• 4 hotels
• 1 fabulous BlogPaws conference
• ...and 0 speeding tickets

Minneapolis was looking pretty beautiful with only 91 miles next to it's name.  The swag-mobile pulled into the townhouse garage at 6:17 pm CST. It took FIVE trips up the stairs to haul in all the BlogPaws loot. Real Katie doesn't know this yet...but there's some very *special* outfits for her. As in fashion. As in get-me-the-fluff-outta-this-dress. Word is there will be an official photo shoot later this week. heh heh.

Glogirly and I are both in dire need of an 8-10 hour cat nap, so you'll have to wait for the BlogPaws download.  In the meantime, I leave you with a few Flat Katie Observations from the road.

Left - "I showed THEM!"
Right - "Where the heck are the treadmills?"

Left - "But I don't WANNA clean the windshield. These bugs are already dead."
Right - "Seriously? We are NOT stopping HERE for gas."

Road Tripping

Hi everyone, Flat Katie here.

Glogirly and I are road tripping our way back home from BlogPaws.  It's a LONG drive, but Cheese (our GPS Man) is doing a stellar job of keeping us on course. 

He gets a little miffed when we stop for gas.  He's all, "In 100 feet, make a U-turn" ... probably wants to say "You're going the WRONG way...AGAIN!"

Seriously. We're stopping AGAIN???

And why do I have to share the seat with this stupid cooler?

There's not even any flat salmon in it.

We'll have much more to share about our BlogPaws trip, including the news of our big WIN, (woot woot!) once we pull into Minneapolis and unpack the swag-mobile.  But Flat Katie needs some shut eye. Yeah, I know...pretty hard when my eyes are glued wide open.

OK, OK...I won't leave you hanging.  Glogirly and I won the BlogPaws Nose-to-Nose Award for BEST MEOW BLOG!!!  That's Best Cat Blog for you dogs that don't speak Cat. We are SO excited and we owe it all to YOU - our fabulous friends!  Without each and every one of you, we'd just be talking to each other...and how boring is THAT!?

I want to give a big shout out to Jonesie from Cory Cat Blog for leaving the FUNNIEST comment on my Glogirly Facebook Page.  When she saw a photo of me road tripping in the passenger seat, she asked if "Flat Katie had a flat litter box for the car." MOL!!!

It was a whirlwind day and we've met SO many great people and pets!  Sparkle's human, Deb Barnes from Zee & Zoey, Catladyland's Angie, Tamar from I Have Cat, Modern Cat's Kate Benjamin, Chey's human from The Cat Post Intelligencer, Mousebreath, Conscious Cat, Covered in Cat Hair, Paws & Effect, Moki the Wobbly Cat, Coco from Culrz & Swirlz, OMC...this list goes ON and ON and I know I'm missing a few hundred people.

We also met the winners of the BlogPaws/PetSmart Blog To Business Contest, Colby from Puppy In Training and Annette & Snoopy from SnoopysDogBlog!  They shared some of the amazing things they learned from their experience with the social media experts at PetSmart. Glogirly took copious notes, but I was more interested in getting a photo with Snoopy. Consider it a symbolic gesture of peace and goodwill from a cat to a dog.

FYI...I was WAY more cooperative during the photo shoot. 

Glogirly and I are beyond pooped.  We have to SHARE a bed tonight because HER bed is full of swag.

BlogPaws Day 1

Hi everyone, Flat Katie here.

Yesterday was the first official day of BlogPaws!  Glogirly and I made it safely to Salt Lake City and have already met TONS of furiends!  Glogirly is pretty lucky to have me along, otherwise NO ONE would know who she is.  She scored some cool swag, but tomorrow we'll go in for the kill and really load up on loot.

Check out me and Glogirly in the hotel lobby. She's kinda shy. 

Today was the Video Master Class with Kenn Bell from DogFiles.  He was a great speaker and a super talented filmmaker. Really passionate about his work. Even though his work is DOGS. Check out his amazing video called A Few Good Dogs. I tried to stay after and pitch an idea for A Few Good Cats.  ...but common sense prevailed when I realized that the world is full of WAY more than just a FEW good cats.  ...heh heh

Tomorrow the REAL fun begins with a full day of sessions, lots more swag and plenty of furiends.

But this Flat Cat is pooped, so it's time to turn in.  Thank Cod Glogirly got a room with two beds so we can each have our own.  I don't want her hogging the covers.

Now if I could just close my eyes.

BlogPaws!

Hi everyone, Flat Katie here.

Glogirly and I made it to Park City, Utah last night.  No speeding tickets, knock on pavement.  Glogirly did pull a 'Jeff Daniels' though. If you've ever seen the movie Dumb & Dumber, you'll likely know what I mean. One wrong exit and she turned a 1,200 mile trip into a 1,400 mile trip. There were words. Words that nearly curled my flat ears.

She's blaming it on cheese. I'll explain, follow along carefully because it's complicated.

1. She has built-in GPS in her car and has named him Jeeves.
2. Why Jeeves? Well, it actually comes from a previous car she and Gloman had. It was a Land Rover (made in the UK) and the GPS voice had a british accent.  She loved his voice and the way he talked.  He was so polite.  "If possible, make a U-turn..." the proper Brit would suggest. 
3. Well Jeeves stuck and now all GPS voices are Jeeves to her.
4. The current Jeeves is almost 5 years old. He's not up to date on some of the newer roads and sent Glogirly to a cornfield the last night instead of the Hilton Garden Inn.
5. So this morning she didn't trust Jeeves too much when he told her to go east as opposed to west.
6. So she ignored him.
7. 150 miles later, she realized her mistake and it was too late to turn back.
8. Jeeves was right all along, but she thought he was crying wolf again.
9. So where does the cheese come in?
10. Well Glogirly sent a text to Gloman to tell him of her predicament.
11. She has an iPhone with Siri, the intelligent personal assistant that lets you use your voice to send messages, ask questions...she even tells jokes. (you've seen the iPhone commercials, right?)
12. But Siri doesn't hear too well.
13. No matter how many times Glogirly tried to message Gloman about Jeeves, she just kept calling Jeeves, Cheese.
14. Jeeves is now Cheese. 

Blame it on Cheese.

This morning we're on our way to downtown Salt Lake City for the first official day of BlogPaws. We're attending a cool master class on video making!  We're super excited to start seeing our friends arrive! More updates to come...

Wordless Wednesday

Yesterday, Glogirly left for BlogPaws. Salt Lake City or bust. Starting tomorrow, I'll be providing daily BlogPaws updates right here on my blog. The DOGS better watch out. This cat is ready to DISH.

UPDATE - Glogirly made it safe and sound to Rapid City, South Dakota. No speeding tickets, no empty gas tanks.  A few bugs gave their lives to the windshield. RIP. Flat Katie had some issues in the car though. Glogirly thought it would be cool to have Flat Katie look out the window...just to throw off the other cars.  Well it wasn't cool at all. Apparently the extreme heat melted Flat Katie into a potato chip looking thing. FORTUNATELY Glogirly was not far from home so she came back and did a quick repair job to Flat Katie.  Only an hour or so was lost. The two are resting comfortably at the Hilton Garden Inn.

And There She Goes

Hi everyone, Katie here.

She's leaving. Again. Glogirly's car is stuffed full of suitcases and swag. She's heading west. Salt Lake City or bust.

I guess I can't hold it against her though...she IS after all attending BlogPaws on MY behalf. Since I'm not much of a conference cat and don't like road trips, she's bringing my stunt double, Flat Katie, with her. I told her she and Flat Katie had to drive so there's plenty of room for all the loot they will surely bring back for me.

Pre BlogPaws

Hi everyone, Flat Katie Here.

Glogirly and I have been hard at work preparing for the big trip to BlogPaws this week. The real Katie is not much of a conference cat. Not real keen on road trips either. So Glogirly is bringing me, Flat Katie.  I'm Katie's stunt double, ready to take one for the team. Dogs, ferrets, birds, smelly humans, loud noises...bring 'em on!

There's going to be lots of fun swag at BlogPaws. Even so, we're coming with our OWN swag! Look at the cool things we 're packing!

Our super-savvy business cards came from SmartPress.com. We designed them ourselves and placed the order online.  It couldn't have been easier.  Lots of paper stock and finish options, great customer service and very reasonable prices. We LOVE them.  Pretty soon Glogirly and I will be launching an online design business. So if you need design help with your own, we'll be here for you!

And see that funky black and white square code?  It's called a QR code. People can scan it with their smart phones and be instantly teleported over to our contact page. We generated the code online at Kawya and just worked it into the business card design.  We made sure that our CONTACT PAGE was updated with our email and follow buttons for Facebook, Twitter, Blogger & YouTube. We even added in a fun photo and a little somethin-somethin about us and our blog. It's like an online business card. Great for someone who maybe has never visited our blog before.

Even though Glogirly is pretty sure there will be pens galore at BlogPaws, she wanted to have something fun for a few of her catty furiends. (ok, maybe a couple dogs too.)  We got them from Discount Mugs.  We used their design template and it was super easy to make them look oh-so-Glogirly!

Glogirly's iPhone is always in hand. We thought it was time to Glogirlize it.  A snappy pink bumper, a cool wristlet case and of course a photo of ME. (and her) Staying in touch was never so stylish.

Oh and one last thing...check out this cool bag we designed on CafePress! This is for my swag. Well, at least SOME of my swag. Glogirly's got a whole extra suitcase for the big stuff. heh heh
