KATIE: Zzzz.
WAFFLES: Wake up, Boss! WAKE UP! The plastic's eating the Townhouse!
KATIE: Waffles, what did I tell you about the waking-me-up rules?
WAFFLES: I know, Boss. But the rules don't count when the Townhouse is getting eaten by plastic, right? I mean, what's next? Is the plastic going to eat us? What about our wand toys and stuff?
KATIE: No one's getting eaten, Waffles. The construction guys are coming back to redo part of the hardwood floor. The plastic is protecting the Townhouse. Not eating it.
WAFFLES: Still, I'm keeping an eye on my food dish. You can't trust plastic.
About Today's Photos
When we came home from the hotel last week, one of the furniture movers had dropped a table on the new wood floors leaving a big gash. The first repair attempt failed so today a big chunk of the floors will be pulled up and redone.
As a result, THE most important part of the Townhouse, where the cat tree, napping ottoman, Sleepypods and food dishes are, is currently under plastic. Even the powder room is out of service. Today, while the really loud part of the work is being done, Glogirly, Katie & Waffles will be hanging out in the upstairs bedroom. Not to worry, there'll be plenty of treats and toys. A dedicated litter box and drinking fountain too. Glogirly's on her own though.
Plastic? What Plastic? There were plenty of giggles today as Katie proved she is truly a creature of habit. Every morning after breakfast, she curls up on the big blue ottoman next to the Sleepypod in the fireplace room. It's a perfect napping spot with nice light from the nearby windows and an excellent view of the Townhouse interior. The Sleepypod offers extra privacy when needed.

Despite how puzzled Waffles was by the sight and sound of the plastic, Katie just took it all in stride.
WAFFLES: Uh, Boss? What's Glogirly's litter box doing out on the back deck?
Guess after living with Waffles a couple of years she has learned to take things in stride. :)

ReplyDeleteI am so sorry for the extender pain in the tchukes. I am sure you just want this to be done.
ReplyDeleteOur Daddy says you've never truly remodeled until the commode is on the lawn. Looks close enough to us!
ReplyDeleteHahaMeow!
Pee Ess - we truly hope this is experience is nearly over for you!
Life in plastic, maybe not so fantastic.
ReplyDeleteI hope Glogirly isn't planning on, um, borrowing your litter box! There has to be a limit, you know!
ReplyDelete:-) Katie is doing a Christo!! DID YOU SEE THE GUY WHO WRAPS BUILDINGS? HIS WORK IS AMAZING!!!

Oh! Dont worry Waffles im sure it will all be over soon and Glogirly will never let the plastic hurt you!
ReplyDeleteHope things get back to normal soon for Waffles's sake. MOL!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it funny how they react differently? You'd think if one was calm, that would keep the other calm, or if one was upset, it would upset the other. But nope, individual as can be! Hope you get out from under the plastic soon! And boy, we sure hope Glogirly doesn't have to use her litter box on the deck! Covered by plastic or not!
ReplyDeleteWe hope you'll soon be back to your normal routine so Waffles can settle down.
ReplyDeleteLuv Hannah and Lucy xx xx
Katie really is turning out to be such a little trooper through all of these disruptions! We hope the repairs go smoothly so everyone's litterboxes can get back where they belong.
ReplyDeleteWell, all that plastic could be fun to play in. We hope this all gets done real soon.
ReplyDeleteHow annoying about the furniture movers!
ReplyDeletePlastic can be some scary stuff for somekitties. Audrey used to be terrified of it. Waffles, I do hope it doesn't eat your wand toys.
Oh my! That sounds very annoying. We hate it when people come and move stuff around in our house...
ReplyDeleteit's a privacy shield from orange cats :)
ReplyDeleteYou´re very funny!!
ReplyDeleteWaffles, have you ever wondered what plastic thinks about chicken???? You better check on that. You could have a disaster brewing right in your very own townhouse!!!
ReplyDeleteOMG I am DYING over the last photo about your "litter box" OMG LAUGHING MY ASS OFF!!
ReplyDeleteKatie is a real trouper, isn't she?
Have to tell you, Cody would be thrilled with all of that plastic, he would think he discovered an "all-you-can-eat" plastic buffet!!
EK loves loves loves plastic. He'd be in kitty heaven.
ReplyDeleteLitterbox outside. LOL. Hope the works get done fast.

Katie and Waffles you just have a lot of excitement in your house!!!
ReplyDeleteHow do you get so many pictures of Waffles looking so adorably sheepish? It just makes me so happy when I see one. :) And I'm not surprised Katie is so unruffled. She seems to be really coming into her own now.
ReplyDeleteGood for you, Katie! Don't let anything interrupt your naptime!
ReplyDeleteNothing shall interrupt nap time..right Katie...you are just so laid back little lady...My Lil Tiger guy here loves plastic just a little too much..have to keep it from him as he loves to chew on it!!!
ReplyDeleteHopefully that plastic will be gone soon enough, Waffles and Katie. We're sure glad it's not eating the Townhouse!
ReplyDeleteCompared to Waffles, what's plastic sheeting? It doesn't try to eat your food, ambush you, take your toys, or steal your sleeping spots. Katie totally has this plastic sheeting thing under control--and it offers some privacy, so maybe it's worth having around. Yeah, this plastic sheeting thing is easy peasy. Keeps the heat in, too, for toasty napping. Plastic sheeting isn't too bad. ;)
ReplyDeleteMOL Yep weez know all 'bout dat weduin' of da floors and stuff. Glad y'all have extwa rooms to go too so yous can get away fwum it all. Have a gweat day.
ReplyDeleteLuv ya'
Dezi and Lexi
I hope everything is soon back to normal, and most importantly the human litter box goes back where it should be!
ReplyDeleteI see Katie adjusted well :)
ReplyDeleteOMC! What happened to Katie! All that’s left is a little chalk outline! Sob sob! Waffles, how could you let this happen?
ReplyDeleteWe hope everything comes quickly back to normal, and mostly, we hope Glogirly doesn't have to use her litter box outdoor ! Purrs
ReplyDeleteMaude wants to tell Waffles that the best thing to do with plastic is to Eat It! If you chew it up, Waffles, it can't eat you. Simple.
