Verdict is IN: Katie's Purrfect Crime

WAFFLES:  Hey Boss, is the verduck in?

KATIE:  VerDUCK? What are you talking about? You mean like the bird???

WAFFLES:  Not the bird Boss, you know... the guilty-innocent stuff. The verduck.

KATIE:  It's a verdict, Waffles. And guess what.

WAFFLES:  *gulp*

KATIE:  You're guilty.

WAFFLES:  But Boss, I didn't jump on the kitchen counter. I swear it.

KATIE:  That's not what the jury said.

WAFFLES:  But what about all those jury people that said the paw prints were too dainty to be mine?

KATIE:  The jury has ruled, Waffles. It's over.

WAFFLES:  This jury sucks. I need a new jury. I want a do-over.

KATIE:  You can do-over whatever you want, Waffles. But you're not dragging me into it.

WAFFLES:  What do you mean?

KATIE: Two words. Double Jeopardy.

WHODUNNIT? Crime Scene on the Countertop

WAFFLES:  Hey Boss? Did you hear? Glogirly found paw prints on the kitchen counter!

KATIE:  Well they're not mine. What did you do, Waffles?

WAFFLES:  Nothing, Boss. I swear it.

KATIE:  Seriously? I'm supposed to believe someone who gets caught in the kitchen cupboards everyday?

Every. Single. Day?

WAFFLES:  Yeah, but there's food and stuff in here. And I never go in when anyone's looking.

KATIE:  Because it's totally fine to commit a crime just as long as no one sees you? *rolls eyes*

WAFFLES:  I KNOW! Especially in the middle of the night.

KATIE:  And no one saw you TP the Townhouse the other day either. So that roll of toilet paper just flung itself down two flights of steps?

WAFFLES:  Maybe it was running out!

KATIE:  Waffles, I think this latest one has your name on it. And your paw prints.

WHODUNNIT???
Dear friends... we need YOUR help in solving this heinous crime.

Exhibit A:  The Crime Scene
Every morning Glogirly dusts for prints when she spritzes the foamy spray-cleaner on the kitchen counter. Foamy spray-cleaner doesn't lie.

Exhibit B:  The Lineup
Two cats of interest have been identified in connection to the countertop crime. Though both have alibis, investigators have not been able to substantiate either cat's story.

Evidence Inconclusive
Due to Glogirly's obsessive-compulsive countertop cleaning, crime scene investigators have ruled the paw print evidence inconclusive and are seeking help from the general public in hopes that someone may be able to make a positive match on the prints and paws.

Or, how about let's just take a vote?

Monday Morning Crime Scene: Litter Room Looting

 WAFFLES:  Who, ME???

EXHIBIT A:  Tattered remains of two 20 lb. bags of Dr. Elsey's Precious Cat Litter. A particularly heinous act; the litter was apparently unused and attacked strictly for 'sport.'

EXHIBIT B:  Gross misuse of toilet paper. CSI's are still running trace, however it is rumored to have been a nearly full roll of Cottonelle Ultra Soft.

KATIE:  Yes, you.

Case of the Missing Salmon Treats Still Unsolved

WAFFLES:  Hi Boss. Whatcha doing?

KATIE:  What do you THINK I'm doing, Waffles?

WAFFLES:  Um, looking at me?

KATIE:  For once you've got something right.

WAFFLES:  How do I look?  Do you like my orange fur? It's striped you know.

KATIE:  Orange, huh? Stripes too? I hear that's what all the cat convicts are wearing this season.

WAFFLES:  Huh?

KATIE:  Don't play dumb with ME, Waffles. I know you stole those salmon treats from the kitchen cupboard. Now fess up, where are they?

WAFFLES:  I don't know nothing about no salmon treats. I don't even like salmon. I mean treats. I mean salmon treats.

KATIE:  The Case of the Missing Salmon Treats remains unsolved. Sadly no treats, no crumbs, not even an empty container has been recovered. I continue to hold these salmon treats in my thoughts and prayers. Waffles?

WAFFLES:  Um, yeah. What she said.

MISSING: Fate of Freeze Dried Treats Unknown

Hi everyone, Sheriff Katie here.

On the heels of Saturday's freeze dried turkey incident, yet another shocking crime is developing here at the Townhouse.

While Waffle-proofing the kitchen cabinets, Glogirly and I took inventory of all treats on-hand. According to our records, one whole container of freeze dried salmon is MISSING. Though evidence is strictly circumstantial at this time, foul play is indeed suspected.

The missing treats in question, a jar of Halo Pets Liv-a-Littles, were last seen on the second shelf of the upper kitchen cabinet behind the taco sauce. It is believed the seal was already broken and therefore the fate of these tasty morsels hangs in the balance.

Anyone with information that may lead to the rescue of the treats or the apprehension of the perpetrator is encouraged to contact the authorities. The first 48 hours is critical. If these treats are not found soon, I'm afraid we'll be looking at a empty container recovery mission.

WAFFLES:  Recovery mishen? I got your recovery mishen! *blows raspberry*

Crime Scene at the Townhouse

Hi everyone, Detective Katie here.

We interrupt today's Saturday Photohunt theme, *DOOR,* to bring you breaking developments live from the Townhouse.

As you know, Waffles has a well established reputation for stealing food and treats. Remember the beef tenderloin??? According to eyewitness accounts, he's been seen opening the kitchen cupboards. His first offense was minor. Just the lower cabinet containing the toaster. He then moved to the FOOD cabinet which is positioned adjacent to the toaster cabinet.

Glogirly was forced to relocate all bagged food and treats to the upper deck of kitchen cupboards. But that didn't stop him. He unabashedly scaled the pristine counters, reaching the highest of the cabinets.

As his crimes have increased in severity and frequency, Glogirly has had no choice but to tape the cabinet doors shut until she could consult the experts at Home Depot for a more permanent solution. I suggested we relocate Waffles to the kitten room and lock the door. But Glogirly did not heed my advice.

THIS is what we woke up to this morning. The taped cupboard doors had been breached overnight, orange fur was found stuck to the tape and pawprints were clearly visible on the otherwise shiny countertop.

The crime scene extended from the kitchen into the fireplace room. The victim's remains, just an empty shell of what used to be, lay lifeless on the floor.

The deceased has been identified as a brand new bag of freeze dried turkey treats. No other information is available at this time.

Alarming Incident(s)

Hi everyone, Katie here.

There's been an incident. Multiple incidents. THREE to be exact. And I'll give you ONE guess who's to blame.

It was an ordinary day. I was just innocently hanging out in the piano room, admiring my modern cat tree, when Waffles Too entered the room and commandeered the third level of my tree.

I might add, he did NOT seek permission to approach, let alone climb my cat tree. I guess some cats just need to look down on others to feel good about themselves.

The next thing I know, I'm being attacked from the sky. Waffles Too waited for me to come just a few feet closer and then WHAM. He dove from skyscraper heights and landed right on my back. Friends, you will have to take my word for this, as it was impossible to capture his maneuver on camera given the speed of the assault.

And then it happened.

Sirens blaring. Some loud stranger yelling ALARM, ALARM, AREA 9 - GLASS BREAK KITCHEN - ALARM, ALARM. And Glogirly frantically searching for her phone.

GLOGIRLY:  Yes, I'd like to report a false alarm.

GLOGIRLY:  Yes, everything is fine, except for my two insane CATS.

GLOGIRLY:  No, it was just the cats.

GLOGIRLY:  Yes, cats.

GLOGIRLY:  Just two.

GLOGIRLY:  Well we have this new kitten and I guess his claws on the hardwood floor ...as he was attacking my other INNOCENT cat.

GLOGIRLY:  No, really. We're all okay.

GLOGIRLY:  Thank you. Bye.

Do not be fooled. I may look like the aggressor, but I assure you I am NOT.

Fast forward 24 hours. Waffles Too does it again.

Fast forward 48 hours. AGAIN.

So now the security guy with the toolbelt has to come to the townhouse. Great. Just great. I'm going  to post this mug shot at the front door so he knows what he's dealing with.

Awaiting Arraignment

Hi everyone, Katie here.

On Tuesday evening I was released on bond for charges of Shoelace Tampering.  I was in good spirits and confident a clean dismissal was imminent.  That is until today.  I was made aware of new charges that are being brought against me unrelated to the shoelaces.  Far more serious allegations.  Of murder.

That's right, murder.

Let me start by assuring you I didn't do it.  Based on circumstantial evidence though, my future may be hanging in the balance.  Plus Gloman is out of town so as much as I'd like to, I can't blame him.

Let me walk you through the events of the past 24 hours.

09:00am - Breakfast as usual.  Grain free kibble. One small piece of freeze dried salmon.  Water.

09:15am - Rolled around on the kitchen rug looking cute.

10:00am - Pre-nap preparations in Glogirly's bed.

10:05am - Glogirly left the townhouse for the gym.

10:06am - 12:22pm - Deep napping.

12:23pm - Glogirly returned to the townhouse.

12:24pm - Glogirly shrieked, "OMG, a MOUSE!   OMG, OMG, OMG a MOUSE!"

12:25pm - Glogirly shrieked, "KATIE, WHAT DID YOU DO?"

12:26pm - Woken from my slumber TWO floors up, I descended the steps to find out what the fluff was going on.

12:27pm - Discovery of the remains. A small lifeless body I'VE never seen before lay limp on the tile floor.

12:28pm - Initial assessment showed no signs of foul play.  Or any play for that matter.

Well here we go again. I'm currently awaiting arraignment. Three strikes if you count the ribbon incident and the shoelace tampering thing.

But I swear.
I didn't do it.
I was sleeping, I tell you, sleeping.
I've never even SEEN a creature like this before.  I'm a CITY cat.
I don't know how the intruder forced his way in past security.
But I think he may have slipped in undetected when a door opened.

And then obviously poisoned himself.

Crime Scene At The Townhouse

Hi everyone, Katie here.

Something has been up here in the townhouse for the past few days. Something suspicious. Something sneaky. I'm declaring the townhouse a crime scene and I am officially ON THE CASE.

"Thump-Thump."

I've questioned Glogirly, my prime suspect. She's been elusive. I have employed my own brand of interrogation tactics. Nothing. She says it's confidential. Confidential this, confidential that. CONFIDENTIAL.

I've done my best sneaking.
Still... I find nothing.

Hmmmm. All this CONFIDENTIAL talk has me thinking she's flipped sides. That she... dare I say... has been working for another blog. That's treason in my book.

What? Book? Huh? A CONFIDENTIAL manuscript of sorts? Wait!

THIS JUST IN:
Associated Cat Press
Somewhere in the Desert, USA

Renowned cat blogger Fin from HOUSECAT CONFIDENTIAL has just announced that her life's work is soon to be published in a tell-all memoir. Housecat Confidential The Blog, will soon become Housecat Confidential The Book.

Fellow blogger Katie (OMC that's me!) has been charged with the new design of Fin's blog and book cover. Additional details are not available at this time however any new information will be released on a need to know basis at the official HOUSECAT CONFIDENTIAL blog site.

WTFluff!!! I don't know anything about this! This is slander I tell you. I'm certain that Glogirly is behind this. She's been cheating on me and my blog, I just know it. Sharing secret designs behind my back... elicit phone calls in the night. No wonder I haven't been able to get a single decent post out of her this week. I'm going over to Fin's right now to get to the bottom of this!

Glogirly, let this serve as a warning.
You better stop cheating on me.
