WAFFLES: Why, does it have your name on it? Because I don't see your name, Boss. Where's your name?
KATIE: Sunpuddles don't have names, Waffles.
WAFFLES: They do too, Boss. And this one's name is Mine.
KATIE: Seriously? That's what you're going with?
WAFFLES: Ok... Fred?
It's rare for us to post iPhone photos on our blog, what with Glogirly always toting around her *big* camera. But every once in awhile there's something just so unbelievable that she's got to go with what's handiest. That's exactly what happened Saturday morning.
Gloman is on weekend am meal service, so by the time Glogirly rolls out of bed, everyone has been fed and is deep into morning nap mode. With nothing but her phone in hand, she started down the steps towards the kitchen. But something caught her eye and stopped her in her tracks. There in the guest bedroom lay Katie and Waffles, inches apart, basking in the sunshine. Glogirly approached slowly, low to the ground, phone in hand. It's not everyday Katie and Waffles peacefully coexist within inches of each other. No patty cake, no "he's touching me!" ... just a couple of big yawns and a big "So?" look on their faces.

ReplyDeleteIsn't it nice when they get along? Every now and then peace reigns on the farm and I rejoice.

ReplyDeleteThey probably do this all the time while you're sleeping!
ReplyDeleteI have to say, I don't know if I've ever seen Katie looking so.. kittenish and cute and lovely all at the same time! That tummy and the tootsies! So adorable!
That is pretty amazing!
ReplyDeleteFor the six months I shared my home with two cats, peace was very rare. Bear was close to a year old and had never been inside. Kitty was 15 and had only been an only. I kept them separate at first and did everything they tell you to do to make the transition easier. Nope. Walking confrontations. To be fair, Kitty wasn't snuggly even with her person (me), so she was used to having her space. And Bear followed her everywhere (yes, he actually climbed in the litter box after her too) and watched everything she did (eat, sleep, potty). Kitty wasn't too bad about it - don't get me wrong - she was mad as hell - but she wanted to be left alone so badly that Bear got away with being annoying. And she lost her patience every so often - with Bear completely clueless to the warnings and signals that he was getting too close, she'd roar like a tiger and whap him right across the nose. When they coexisted within 5 feet of each other - even if the hackles were a bit raised - was the best we ever got - and could be awfully cute.
ReplyDeleteMOL! At least they share sometimes.....
