Introducing the Oscar Cat Rest

We've always got our eyes peeled for cool new feline furniture with a modern aesthetic. Davies Decor, the same company behind the Googie Cat Bed we introduced you to a few months ago, has a brand new design. It's called the Oscar Cat Rest. 

It's sloping curves are not only beautiful to look at, but comfy for curling up or stretching out. 

Inspired by Architecture

The design is a nod to the Neo-Futurist architecture movement of the 1960's. We're design geeks here so we really dig this stuff. Think Gateway Arch...the timeless landmark of St. Louis, designed by Eero Saarinen.  

Oscar Who???

The Oscar Cat Rest was named for Oscar Neimeyer. ...Sorry Waffles, no relation to Oscar Meyer. One look at his amazing museum in Brazil gives you a glimpse at what makes his designs so unique and beautiful. ...hmmm, almost looks like a cat eye, doesn't it?

Oscar is finished in African sapele veneer over molded plywood. It's perfect-for-scratching carpet is made of 100% post consumer plastic. We hugely impressed with their behind-the-scenes video of how the Oscar Cat Rest came to be... and the attention to detail that goes into each and every piece.
