Silent Night, Not Silent Townhouse

Hi everyone, Katie here.

One of the things we learned from our recent GLOGIRLY Reader Survey is that you want MORE KATIE. Well I aim to please. It really doesn't get any more *Classic Katie* than this.

One of my favorite classic Christmas songs is Silent Night. Glogirly's pretty rusty, but she has a beautiful arrangement she plays on the piano for me. Last year at this time, Waffles had barely emerged from the Kitten Room and the nights were anything BUT silent around here.

EVERYTHING was a toy to him. Our tiny tree, the half dozen ornaments Glogirly dared hang, boxes, bags and bows. And of course... the piano. He'd twirl around on the bench, yowling like a wild beast and pawing at his glossy, black reflection.

Alas, some things never change.

So, kitties... do you have a favorite classic holiday song?

A Comfortable Lead
The polls are still open, but clearly you have spoken! I'm always telling Glogirly how right our friends and readers are.

...not that Waffles has a reindeer dropping of a chance at winning.

  3. You are the picture of feline perfection at the holidays. I expect some bluzy jazz number with a single rose and you on the top of the piano letting your dulcid tones fly!

  4. Well, considering that we are rock and roll kitties here, we quite like the Kinks' "Father Christmas." But you probably already know that, since my human has been sharing it ALL over Facebook! If she could find a version with cats in it, she'd put it on my page too!

  11. Maybe he will learn to play and go off on the lounge cat circuit. He enjoyed wearing that santa suit, so a lounge suit would be nothing for him, right?

  17. Katie, our human's partial to almost any traditional carol, frankly. And she says it doesn't get better than Bach's Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring and Handel's Hallelujah Chorus. :-)

Anyway, we wanted wish you all a very Merry Christmas/Happy Holiday now, in case we do lose power later, with our ice storm.

    Purrs and peace,

  27. Katie, it's so hard to come up with a favorite Christmas song. When I hear Peggy Lee sing "I Like A Sleigh Ride/Jingle Bells", or Glen Campbell "I'll Be Home for Christmas," I think of my mama. But I think my personal favorite is "I Believe in Father Christmas," Emerson/Lake/Palmer.
Merry Christmas! You look beeeeautiful next to the piano!
