Silent Night, Not Silent Townhouse

Hi everyone, Katie here.

One of the things we learned from our recent GLOGIRLY Reader Survey is that you want MORE KATIE. Well I aim to please. It really doesn't get any more *Classic Katie* than this.

One of my favorite classic Christmas songs is Silent Night. Glogirly's pretty rusty, but she has a beautiful arrangement she plays on the piano for me. Last year at this time, Waffles had barely emerged from the Kitten Room and the nights were anything BUT silent around here.

EVERYTHING was a toy to him. Our tiny tree, the half dozen ornaments Glogirly dared hang, boxes, bags and bows. And of course... the piano. He'd twirl around on the bench, yowling like a wild beast and pawing at his glossy, black reflection.

Alas, some things never change.

So, kitties... do you have a favorite classic holiday song?

A Comfortable Lead
The polls are still open, but clearly you have spoken! I'm always telling Glogirly how right our friends and readers are.

...not that Waffles has a reindeer dropping of a chance at winning.

  1. I am very partial to Jingle Bells Katie.

  2. Moar Katie!

    (Just like More Cowbell, MOL)

Mommy is particular for "O Holy Night".

  3. You are the picture of feline perfection at the holidays. I expect some bluzy jazz number with a single rose and you on the top of the piano letting your dulcid tones fly!

    Ms Stella O'Houligan

  4. Well, considering that we are rock and roll kitties here, we quite like the Kinks' "Father Christmas." But you probably already know that, since my human has been sharing it ALL over Facebook! If she could find a version with cats in it, she'd put it on my page too!

  5. I really like any song that's about me. You know, Joy to the world, for Chey has come. And O come all ye Chey Fans. I'm not picky. So long as they sing about me...

  6. There's come caterwauling about a White Christmas around here ;-)

  7. We like "Here Comes Santa Paws" and "I'll Be Home Fur Crispmouse" but Brat won't be giving his annual concert this year. Next year, we hope!

  8. Gorgeous pic of you, Katie.
We enjoy the pic of you too, Waffles. It's very different! MOL!

Mommy says she is very fond of "Pretty Paper" at this time of year.

    Merry Catmouse!

  9. we like "Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer"...we truly do :)

  10. Such a lovely photo dear Katie and Waffles looks bored. Maybe he wants to sing?

Mom likes Oh Holy Night, too.

And the Meowy Christmas cats singing.

    Purrz, =^..^=

  11. Maybe he will learn to play and go off on the lounge cat circuit. He enjoyed wearing that santa suit, so a lounge suit would be nothing for him, right?

  12. Maybe wants Waffles to play the piano ? We like Jingle Bells, in English and in French. Purrs

  13. Oh la la !
You look sooo stunning infront of the piano . Katie !

Our favorite CATmassong is this one

  14. Beautiful Katie!! How time has flown! But how things have remained the same! You are as gorgeous as ever and Waffles is as wonderful! Yay!

    Happy happy Christmas!

Our favourite Christmas song is "Oh little town of Bethlehem"! Awww! Take care

  15. We like Silent Night. That's a rarity here though.

    The Florida Furkids

  16. We like Jingle Bells...'specially when we knock them off the Christmas tree and play with them! We can sing while we play!

  17. Katie, our human's partial to almost any traditional carol, frankly. And she says it doesn't get better than Bach's Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring and Handel's Hallelujah Chorus. :-)

Anyway, we wanted wish you all a very Merry Christmas/Happy Holiday now, in case we do lose power later, with our ice storm.

    Purrs and peace,
    Nicki and Derry

  18. I like Jingle Bells. Mum hangs them around the bottom of the tree for me to whap.

  19. We think Waffles would look best in reindeer antlers ;)

I like "O Holy Night". Those snappy happy Christmas songs get on my nerves!

  20. Oh Christmas Tree is one of my favorites.
    Sue B

  21. This year a co-worker taught us Jingle Bells in Burmese so I have to say that's my most fun one this year....although I'm partial to Carol of the Bells.....

  22. Merry Christmas Darling by the Carpenters.
Or anything by Nat King Cole.

  23. Pawsome photo Katie! Someday Waffles will grow up and you'll miss the kitten....or not, MOL

Mom's favorite carol is O Little Town of Bethlehem. We just like when she doesn't sing!

    Sasha, Sami, & Saku

  24. It's Beginning to Look a Lot like Christmas, Silver Bells, O Holy Night.

  25. I kinda like “Police Stopped My Car.” Google it. MOL! Wait, that’s not classic? TW loves O Holy Night.

  26. We like O Holy Night too. You are looking so lovely Katie and I am on my way to deliver your pressies...
Wishing you all a beautiful holiday season and a very Merry Christmas!

    Clooney Claus

  27. Katie, it's so hard to come up with a favorite Christmas song. When I hear Peggy Lee sing "I Like A Sleigh Ride/Jingle Bells", or Glen Campbell "I'll Be Home for Christmas," I think of my mama. But I think my personal favorite is "I Believe in Father Christmas," Emerson/Lake/Palmer.
Merry Christmas! You look beeeeautiful next to the piano!
Peace Z-Girl and the Squeedunk Gang

  28. (Ahem) well us doggies have a fav or 2.....we like silver bells and we 3 kings ((husky hugz)) and in case we don't talk to you before tomorrow, we hope you all have a very merry Christmas!!!!!!

  29. Hi Katie!
My purrsonal favorite Christmas Carol is Oh Holy Night - on bag pipes! Daddy thinks it sounds like some one strangling a cat...but me LOVES it!

  30. Waffles is adorable and Katie is a real beauty. Best of both worlds!!!

Thank you so much for your comment. We LOVE hearing from you!
