What's In The Box?

Hi everyone, Katie here.

I've been waiting for this box to arrive for over three weeks now, ever since the Campaign For A Cause Contest started. Thank Cod, the UPS man came through in the nick of time.

It's been a challenge for Cathy Keisha and I to keep Waffles' paws off the box. Overeager interns you know, they want to touch everything.

WAFFLES:  Um, Boss? Are we gonna open the box? 

CATHY KEISHA: YO, Waffles! Pipe down.

KATIE:  Waffles, WE are not going to open the box.

KATIE:  My platforms are here! My platforms are here!  I'm somebody! I'm somebody! My platforms are here!

WAFFLES:  Um, Boss? What are we gonna do with those? They're kinda big. And tall.

CATHY KEISHA: YO, Waffles! That's cuz they're 'sposed to be. Don't you know ANYTHING about politicks?

KATIE:  I sure hope I can stand up in these things.

WAFFLES:  I think they're pawsome.

CATHY KEISHA:  Yup, they're just right.

KATIE:  Hi everyone! Thank you for coming out today. This is our last big rally before the voting begins tomorrow in the Cat Ruler Of The World Campaign For A Cause Contest.  My fellow candidates, the press, and many of you have been asking a lot of questions about platforms lately and what Team Katie really stands for. Some have asked what exactly I'd DO as Cat Ruler of the World. How can I, a sassy tuxie kitty from Minneapolis, make a difference?

Well, as much as I'd like to, I can't bring about world peace. I can't give every homeless cat a family to call their own. I can't grow fields of green papers and catnip. I had to think long and hard over many a lengthy nap to realize I have only one thing to offer. A smile. It's pretty simple really, but I know that sometimes we get busy with life and forget about them. One smile at a time, one laugh, one giggle, even the occasional MOL-LOL moment...that's how this kitty can make the world a better place.

And that's what GLOGIRLY is all about. Oh, there's plenty of sarcasm on the horizon, silly imagery, and a perspective on life that could only come from a cat. Just what you'd expect from me and my girl. But we'll always have a smile here waiting for you to lighten your load.

I know, it's sounds almost TOO simple. But the power of a smile is not to be underrated. It's pretty hard to be mean while you're smiling or sad while you're laughing. In the words of Miss Phyllis Diller, "A smile is a curve that sets everything straight."

So there you go. That's my platform. Plain and simple.
...ok, the awesome pink suede sandals are a nice bonus.
