Waffles Wednesday: Tail Tally

Um, hi everybuddy. Waffles here.

Well the measurements are IN! Last Waffles Wednesday, LOTS of you kitties took one for the team and got your tails measured. I used Glogirly's magic number machine and I have the results!

Are you ready?

We had 46 comments last Wednesday.
The grand total of all the tails that were measured was 588 inches!
That's 49 feets of TAILS!
That's a lotta-lotta tails.



So I bet you wanna know who's got the biggest, huh!
Well it's a tie!

The two longest tails in the Blogosphere are exactly 15 inches! The record holders DashKitten.com's Harvey Button and ME! Glogirly says that means Harvey Button holds the Middle-Earth-Tail-Record and I hold the Rest-of-the-Earth-Tail-Record!

The average tail length was 10.5". 

But we had some non-cat measurements that may have affected that.

Glogirly says it looks like the average cat tail comes in at about 11.5"

So I bet you wanna know who has the WEENIEST tail, huh!

Um, so we're not sure if that's 1/2" EACH for Two French Bulldogs, Benny & Lily, or if that's combined. SNORT!

Waffles Wednesday: Ready, Set, Measure!

Hi everybuddy, Waffles here.

Remember the other week when I posted about my 15" tail?  Glogirly said the blogosphere went wild! People were grabbing tape measures, rulers and CATS!

Sorry about that...I know lots of you are kind of touchy about your tails. I know the BOSS sure is. But I can't help myself, I just really like touching her tail. It's fun!

Ok, so I have an idea. Let's ALL get our tails measured! We can see who has the longest tail and who has the shortest tail and what size is the most popular tail too. And then I can take Glogirly's number machine and figure out how long ALL of our tails are together!

What do you think?  I wonder if we can get a whole mile of tails! Or at least enough to go around the block!

Waffles Wednesday: Fifteen Inches

Um, hi everybuddy. Waffles here.

Did you hear about my fifteen inches??? Everybuddy's talking about it on Facebook. Glogirly says all the girlcats will be beating down my door. The Boss says I'm a freak of nature.

Why all the fuss? I've got an honest-to-goodness, genuine, 15 inch TAIL! Glogirly measured it and everything.

It's almost TWICE as long as the Boss' tail. And I'm pretty sure for every stripe I get extra cool points.

So we googled "significance of a cat's tail length" and look what came up first on the list! It's a Catster Article written by our friend JaneA from Paws and Effect!  She's really smart when it comes to cat stuff.

She wrote that the average tail length for a male cat is 11 inches and for a female it's 9.9 inches. So I'm WAY above average. Four whole inches above average. And like a million inches above the Boss. All this and I'm barely a year old.

Hey! I'm barely a year old? Does that mean I'm having a birthday soon???
