Party at the Vet

WAFFLES:  Hey Boss! Where're we going? Are we going to a party? With games and stuff?

KATIE:  Well if by game you mean, Where's the Thermometer...then party on, Waffles.

WAFFLES:  Wait. WHAT???

WAFFLES:  What a ripoff, Boss. We're so not going to a party.

KATIE:  You're just figuring that out now?

WAFFLES:  So Boss, how come you never have to play Where's the Thermometer?

KATIE:  I've got a special Where's the Thermometer waiver on my chart.

WAFFLES:  I need to get me one of those. Do they have them on Amazon? We have Prime.

KATIE:  Better turn around, Waffles. The one with the gloves is right behind you.

WAFFLES:  Uh oh.

About Today's Vet Visit
Besides yesterday being the hottest day of the year here in Minneapolis, it was also vet visit day for Katie and Waffles. They both had their rabies vaccinations and weigh ins. Waffles delighted in Dr. Karlin telling him he was a perfect mancat. Perfect weight, perfect physique, perfect personality... she really has no idea how much this is all going to go to his head.

Katie was delighted to learn she needs to gain a few ounces and can have a smidge more food at mealtime. She was less than delighted though to have her senior bloodwork done. And a urinalysis.

As for Where's the Thermometer, it's true - based on Katie's reputation of spirited protests, she is indeed exempt from the taking of the temperatures.

Just a little schmear of food and Waffles never saw the thermometer coming.

  1. Oh how cruel, lured with food and then the shock of the violation of the thermometer. Poor Waffs! Hope you got chicken when you got home Waffs!

  2. WAIT?!?! They do WAIVERS of 'Where's the thermometer?!?!?' I'm asking for a friend of course ... ~Bear Cat
ps - I envy Katie that she gets more food. The vet always points out that I'M not missing any meals. Hmph. Who WOULD miss meals ON PURPOSE? I get that blood thingee since I'm "well seasoned" as well. I don't know about the your-whatever-whatever. Sounds like it has nothing to do with me :)

  6. Hysterical!!!! Do they always get their temperature checked? Our vet just does it if they are sick. I hope you guys aren't sick! Katie, do you know how many girls would love to hear their doctor say to eat a smidge more?!! You are so lucky! Lol

  7. I have the sudden urge to race to Minnesota and hide in the bushes outside your house so I can rescue my Waffles the handsome mancat and save him from further indignity and trickery.

  8. Tommy & Mozart have magic microchips that exempt them from that game. :) Glad everyone got a great report!

  9. Ichiro is like that. Give him food and you can do anything to him. Maybe it's a boy cat thing?

  10. What a coincidence my kitty brofur Rhette was at the vet too! But he had surgery to remove some growths and mom is so pleased to hear what a good patient he was! Compared to previous felines that is. Now, if she could just get that syringe in his mouth! Love Dolly

  13. Yikes! Not the thermometer! Y'know...our vet doesn't torture us with that thing unless she really has to. Lucky us.

  15. I get to skip the thermometer too, you don't get it unless they think you are sick! I like that.

  16. Thermometer? Huh - I got three staples in my paw to hold a 'wound' together! No I won't tell Mum how it happened! I need 'assertiveness' training fro Miss Katie!

  17. My dad says that human equivalent of the thermometer for men is no great thing either. It would take a lot of chips and ice cream to forget about that procedure...

  18. I hope your blood work is good Katie and good job getting exempt from thermometers.

  19. You are brave to have gone out in that heat! I always reschedule Cody and Dakota if it is too hot. Cody is due for his rabies vaccine in the next few weeks, but I am afraid that while he is so good at the Vet, he won't do as well on his weight as Waffles and Katie did!!! catchatwithcarenandcody
