Cats in the Closet #WafflesWednesday

*EAR WORM ALERT:  Cat's in the Cradle by Harry Chapin*

♫♩ And the cats in the closet in the afternoon ♫♩
Little boy cat and Miss Katie too.

♫♩ When you comin' out, Waff? "I don't know when." ♫♩

♫♩ But we'll get together then. ♫♩
You know we'll have a good time–

KATIE:  Wait. Define "good time."

WAFFLES:  dun-dun-dun, da-da-da-da-da  ♫♩♫

About Today's Photos
Last week we had a photo shoot at the Townhouse. Something for a new freelance project that Glogirly has. And something that apparently has nothing to do with cats. (GASP!) In preparation for the shoot, we all had to endure a full day of mad cleaning. Lots of vacuuming and lots of stashing. Our Sleepypods ended up in the master bedroom walk-in closet. (GASP AGAIN!)

The next afternoon, Glogirly crawled into bed for a much needed nap. She had her laptop and was checking emails when she heard Katie's soft little snore. (GASP! Katie snores?) But she couldn't figure out where Katie was, so she looked around, peeked in the closet and found both Katie & Waffles slumbering away in their side-by-side Sleepypods.

It just goes to show... where there are Sleepypods, there are cats. Even in the closet.

About Today's Song
Here's a really interesting performance of Cat's in the Cradle with an introduction by Harry Chapin's widow, Sandy Chapin, and their son, Josh Chapin. The song's lyrics began as a poem written by Sandy long before Josh was born. It wasn't until after their son's birth that Harry realized he needed to put music to the poem. Harry Chapin died in 1981 at the age of 38.

  2. Gotta love da spam in da townhouse! *sigh*
I think that's so funny that they sleep in their sleepypods. Sherpa always wants in the closet but he wants to climb the clothes. That is not good for the clothes....

  11. Those carriers must be really confortable. My cat would never be caught sleeping in his carrier - he associates it with going to the vet - so the minute he sees him he decides to run :)
And, by the way, I love that song!

  12. Gosh!! Were you both actually in your OWN sleepy pod? The Staff can't get me to go anywhere near mine!!!

  13. If I found Mickey Mouser or Rufus the Red in a carrier I would think it was time to rush to the vet! Those Sleepy Pods must be wonderful to overcome the usual outcome... or outgoing...

  14. You both look so cute in your sleepy Pods. M is going to check into those, but she said she really needs something on wheels (like a piece of luggage) cuz I'm a chunk to lift and carry and my humans are creaky antiques. You both look adorable in your Sleepy Pods.

  18. Wow, I love those sleepypods in the closet! I love to sleep in my lady's closet in a box on her sweaters - very cozy! I really like to sleep in the nice, dark, and quiet closet when her grandkids come to visit!

  21. HAH! Did know you guy were “in the closet.” All that stuff is legal now.

TW was just making me listen to Harry Chapin. What a coinkidink! Since he was a local boy, the peeps saw him in concert many times and met him on a few occasions. He was Pop’s favorite singer and his sudden death and the way he died hit Pop hard. Every year around Thanksgiving they still do a Hungerthon in his memory.

  25. I wonder who got in their sleepypod first. Did Katie mind Waffles joining her in the closet if she was there first?Mmmm, I wonder...
