WAFFLES: Uh, that Easter's over?
KATIE: *sigh* See all those stacks of paper down there on the dining room table? The rug, the sofa, the floor, the–
WAFFLES: COOL! It's like a paper playground! Did Glogirly & Gloman do this all for US???
KATIE: No, it's for the IRS. Tax time.
WAFFLES: We have to pay TAXES??? Like with REAL money???
KATIE: I hope you've been saving your allowance. You know all those free treats and toys you get?
KATIE: Sorry Waffles, handsome and fun doesn't pay the taxes.
WAFFLES: What about a deduction? Surely handsome must get me something.
About Today's PhotosToday's photos were taken just this weekend. Since the tax preparation areas of the house are pretty much off-limits for curious cats, Katie & Waffles have had to make their own fun on the Townhouse stairs. Our two full flights make for a pretty cool alternative playground... and in the case of Waffles, a great place to get his daily cardio in.
Gah! Taxes. I had pages and pages and pages from some place called Glogirly. Hmmmmm
ReplyDeleteMy human did her taxes in February! She had to because she had to file the kind of return that is due in March. So her's have already been handed in and she is lucky because she did not have to pay the piper. She may not be so lucky next year!

ReplyDeleteThe Lady heard that pet parents may get to deduct vet bills some day! I hope that doesn't mean more trips to the vet. We have been absent a lot too due to those taxes but thankfully they are done. Good luck! Love Dolly

We only have one flight of stairs, but it turns a 180, so it is fun for ups and downs!!!

ReplyDeleteI did my taxes in February because I prefer to have that hassle over, done with, and out of the way.
ReplyDeleteThe IRS might not come after cats for taxes, but I regularly hit my cats up for "Kitty Rent", in the form of cuddles and pets. I got the idea from a woman I used to know and was only too happy to inflict--er, put it into practice. Considering how much I shell out for food and toys and vet bills, they don't pay their share of the rent, they leave messes on the carpets and floors for me to clean up, and they just sit around all day and sleep. Never make any effort to find gainful employment so they can contribute to the household! They're furry mooches. "Kitty Rent" is a way they can start paying off their bill. ;D
We have a professional do that for us. Still lots of papers laying around in preparation, but much less aggravation!!!

We got through the piles of paper for taxes in February, so we sympathize. The humans are much less fun while they are messing around with those things.

ReplyDeleteTaxes...ugh! Mommy and Daddy have been griping about taxes for the past few months, because they have to file Grammy's taxes from the past few years as well as her last one (for this past year). That means the door opens to that room, papers come out, but we don't get to sneak in! We want to go investigate Grammy's old room, but they say maybe later on. Then they take the papers to a lady who does their taxes for them. She does that for Grandma & Grandpa, too, and our uncle. Thank cod we don't have to pay them! Oh, and stairs make GREAT playgrounds!!!
