Whisker Friendly Feeder Giveaway from Trendy Pet

KATIE:  Mmmmm... I do believe my breakfast tastes even BETTER on my beautiful new feeder.

WAFFLES:  Uh, Boss? What breakfast? I don't see any breakfast. I just see crumbs.

KATIE:  You snooze you lose, Waffles.

WAFFLES:  I wasn't snoozing. Honest. So, your breakfast...  it really tasted even BETTER on your new dish???

KATIE:  It's all about the whiskers, Waffles.

Trendy Pet's Whisker Stress Free Dish
We've all been there. Digging to the bottom of the bowl for those last tasty morsels of food. We may as well be digging to China. There's just no easy way to get to them without causing undue whisker stress. For awhile, I was eating my dinner off a flat plate. It was great for my whiskers, but about half my food would slip off the back onto the floor. Sure, the 5 second rule applies, but I'm a lady. I have manners you know.

The elegant curve of the Whisker Stress Free Dish is the purrfect combination of plate and bowl. Flat enough to be friendly to whiskers, but with enough of a curve to contain even the crumbliest of food.

As Beautiful as it is Functional
Mealtime was never so beautiful. The zen-inspired base comes in black or white and looks just like wood, though it's actually made from BPA free plastic. That makes it super easy to clean, plus it's water/rot resistant and won't split like wood.

The gracefully curved ceramic plate is gloss white and has a very high quality look and feel to it. There's a slight ridge on the bottom of the plate that fits into the base, keeping it firmly in place with no tipping or slipping. The weight of the plate keeps the base from sliding too, even on our hardwoods. Then when you're done eating, the plate just lifts right off for easy cleaning. It's dishwasher safe too.

The feeder sits at 4" tall and the plate measures approximately 8" x 6".

Benefits of Raised Feeders*
  • Allows for better posture.
  • More comfortable for older pets and those with health problems.
  • Particularly comfortable for flat-faced felines like Persians & Himalayans.
  • Better digestion - food moves from the mouth to the stomach quicker and easier.
  • Less "leaning", relieving possible stress on hips and shoulders.
  • Easier for pet patents to pick up, especially those with disabilities.

Sleek & Modern
Trendy Pet has a full line of cat and dog feeders, each with a gorgeous, modern aesthetic. We also had a chance to try out their 4" Elevated Pet Bowl with Two 1-Pint Bowls. Dinner for two or dinner and a beverage. The stainless steel bowls rest perfectly on two holes drilled in the top of the feeder. The base is made from the same material as the other feeder.

We love the simple lines and the bright white finish. It's also available in matte black.

KATIE:  Waffles, this isn't a race you know.  Waffles??

WAFFLES:  *chomp, gulp, chomp, gulp, chomp...*

  1. Oops! Mom Paula hit the wrong key and we didn't finish putting our email address. It's sweetpurrfections@sc.rr.com

Meanwhile, yes! Brulee definitely experiences whisker stress. She prefers a flat dish, but really makes a mess because she eats her food by picking it up with her tongue (which is a Persian thing). We'd love to win one of these dishes.

  2. Neither of my seniors, NeeNee and Moo, would eat nearly as fast as Waffles but they'd love a raised feeder!

  3. I am not sure if my cat has whisker stress but she would love to have this feeder.

    ReplyDelete
  4. I don't think they do - they eat off of purple depression glass plates. The Farm cats are spoiled.

  5. We don't have whisker stress because we eat of out flat plates - but they scoot across our solid surface flooring. We love the raised feeder too!

  6. Yes, we have experienced whisker stress. This dish looks purrfect!

  7. My cat eats out of a bowl, but I'm sure she would love this!

  8. I love that graceful looking dish - MUCH nicer than the paper plates I so often get stuck with!

  12. This would be purrfect for my cat Sam, who shoves his bowl all over the place when he eats.

    ReplyDelete
  13. We love the sleek style too. Boy Waffles, you're really chowing down!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  14. This sounds like something my three senior cats would love! They all have arthritis so a raised dish would be perfect!

    ReplyDelete
  15. Waffles, the way you've mashed your head down in the bowl, you don't seem to have whisker sensitivity!! :)

    ReplyDelete
  16. I don't know if my cat has whisker stress but this feeder is so beautiful I would love to have it.

  17. Nyssa picks at her food very carefully, making sure not to get her whiskers dirty, so I would say Yes.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Oh my... our flat faced, Lego would love this. He sometimes uses his paws to pick up food, too. Thanks for the giveaway and I'll definitely be checking out Trendy Cat online. Have a paw-some day!

  19. We use wide raised dishes now and we find them a huge help! We bet the food would taste even better in that Trendy Pet dish. :)

  20. That does look like a super nice feeding dish. I would love to win a whore one, thank you for offering this giveaway.

  21. Thunder does experience whisker stress, and sometimes I have to dump his food right on the floor for him to eat. This is a much better option.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Four out of my six cats are seniors, so this would be a great thing for my house.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Miss TabbyKatt chases her kibble dish across the floor in rather Waffles-like behavior. But it is the wet food that causes her the whisker stress. This lovely raised dish would help her digestion *and* help out the whiskers. And Furrgus would benefit from his own for his separate dining room (he finishes the afternoon wet food first). Great ideas!

  24. I could use one of those! Who thinks about whisker stress but I am certain I have it!

    ReplyDelete
  25. I have some very long whiskered cats who would love this!

    ReplyDelete
  26. She's started growing wiskers (she's a sphynx) and its been quite an experience for her to get used to a new sensory.

    ReplyDelete
  27. That's quite a beautiful dish. Ours are big flat plates. No whisker stress, but food does slide off, and it would be nice to have it raised.

    ReplyDelete
  28. These dishes look very cool! My kitties don't have a big problem with whisker stress because they eat off of human dessert plates. I'm sure they would love these dishes too :)

  29. Al of my cats are seniors and could certainly benefit from eating from this special dish. I never thought about their having whisker distress but it makes sense. The dish is beautiful, It sure beats the paper plates I am currently using.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Such an elegant dish! I like the fact it is raised to make it more comfortable for my cat.

    ReplyDelete
  31. That looks like a great idea. Some of these kitties here would sure benefit from that dish. Great review about the dish. Have a great day.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Wow, that dish is really cool! Thank you for sharing with us about it. We think it would be really good for Moosey, especially.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Annabelle has gotten used to me hand feeding her...^sigh^ I don't think she understand the concept anymore about plates....

    ReplyDelete
  34. Carmine really loves his raised feeder for his kibbles. I know he'd really like this, too!

    ReplyDelete
  35. These are fabulous! My one kitty has super long whiskers, so I have had to start feeding him from a plate because I noticed it seems to bother him while he was eating from his bowl.

  36. I already know about whisker stress. I use small plates or wide dishes with low sides.

  37. We have three cats and while our youngest, Arata (who, by the way, has been channeling Waffles lately since he discovered he just LOVES chicken) doesn't seem to have any issues with his whiskers while eating, our other two cats - Koneko and Moko - do. I really love the style of this bowl, too. I love things with an Oriental feel. All of our five dogs and three cats have Japanese names. We even used to have a Guinea Pig named Hachi!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Love it. It matches my lotus waterer. One of my rescues scoops food out of the bowl and eats it off of the mat. I'm wondering if he, indeed, has whisker stress.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Mine don't really but; I do have one of those double bowl raised feeders.

  40. The raised dish looks so stylish. Waffles, your head is so far down in your dish I am expecting it to come through the bottom any time now.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I definitely have whisker stress. I only eat some of my food when it is in a bowl, but I eat much better if it is on a plate. That feeder looks just awesome! And it is definitely hard reaching down to eat, so having a raised feeder would be wonderful.

    ReplyDelete
  42. My dish is a nice wide one too, so my whiskers don't get squished. Plus mum puts it on another bowl so I don't have to lean down so far to get my foods and eat!

    ReplyDelete
  43. That is a nice dish. I keep thinking I should get glass plates instead of the bowls I use that must smuch whiskers.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I don’t mind getting my whiskers a little dirty. I also don’t mind eating outta the floor since I put half my food there. I bet I can spill food from that plate. Waff looks like he fell asleep in the dish in the last pic. Those are pretty cool dishes.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Socks would love this. He doesn't like eating out of bowls because of the Whisker stress and as a senior pet I bet he would love having his food on a pedestal.

    ReplyDelete
  46. My 2 elderly cats would love the raised dish in black to match there fur color.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Starlins plate is put on top of a box so she can eat....

    ReplyDelete
  48. I am not sure if they do or not. But this dish would certainly avoid that problem

    ReplyDelete
  49. I've seen a number of raised feeding dishes/bowls, but this is the first one that includes elegance in it's design. Definitely a lovely addition to any home with an older, distinguished kitty to feed.

    ReplyDelete
  50. What a pawesome dish! Mommy thinks maybe I won't be such a picky eater with a dish like this. I have very long whiskers.

    ReplyDelete
  51. We so need this dish. Whiskers are precious and delicate. They must be protected. This dish looks like it can comfortably feed several cats at a time. Great idea! Good luck everyone!

    ReplyDelete
  52. I don't think my cats are experiencing whisker stress, but I'm sure they'd love this feeder.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Mum posted for me on my eating dish set up. It isn't as fancy but does the same thing as your dish. Flat to let our whiskers be safe and raised for better eating posture. Have fun on your road trip gang.

  63. My handicapped girl and my boys went through a stage where they seemed to have zero interest in any food I bought, it was very stressful, they had a clean bill of health from the vet. I believe now it was whisker stress. I bought dishes that were similar but not nearly as gorgeous as this and eating habits have returned to normal. I love that this dish is also elevated to improve digestion and dining comfort! (Raine on RC buzzyngabe at yahoo dot com )

  67. Ooh, I would love that dish. Puts mine to shame (it is cheap! Recycled!)!

    ReplyDelete
  68. I've never noticed that they have had a problem.

    ReplyDelete
  69. I think she does because she seems to eat more when her dish is full and she doesn't have to put her face in the bowl.

    ReplyDelete
  70. I honestly don't know if my cats experiences whisker stress, but regardless this would be nice to have raised food dishes to make it easier for them to eat and better for digestion.

    ReplyDelete
  71. I don't think so but she doesn't eat from a deep bowl lezanac2@gmail.com

    ReplyDelete
  72. Probably not, since I use a wide food basin gravity feeder for them.

    ReplyDelete
  73. i dont think so, we usually feed them on paper plates for wet food and an extra large bowl for dry. but this is so cool! my kitties would love it

    ReplyDelete
  74. I dont know if my kittys have whisker stress, just now hearing about it.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Some of my cats have, usually when they're feeling poorly - ie, towards the end of their lives or when sick.

    ReplyDelete
  76. This is something I have never noticed with my cat.

    ReplyDelete
  77. I have really not noticed if my 4 cats do or not. I have not heard of it. I asked my daughter and she said she noticed her cat try to reach in the bowl and pull back and try again. I learned something today.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Yes I know she does because she leaves food in the bottom of the bowl and she is such a foodie she wouldn't leave anything in a flat dish

    ReplyDelete
  79. My Noonie does experience whisker stress! she lets me know in no uncertain terms her current dish/feeding setup is not to her liking. She is rather bossy :)

    ReplyDelete
  80. Now that my Moko is older, she's having more issues with spitting up food and such. I've been wanting this bowl for a long time, but now feel that it might be just what she needs. Now to find the extra money for it.
