Hi everyone Katie here. Welcome to the KT Corral.
MANY of you have been asking for photo documentation of the daily showdowns between me and Waffles Too. I can tell you're worried I'm letting him walk all over me. Worried that my impeccable manners are getting in the way of a good whap. Well if that's what you're thinking, think again.
Make no mistake, Waffles Too knows who's boss around here. His training is progressing nicely. Even if he grows up into a big ole tub of orange cat twice my svelte size, he KNOWS who's in charge.
The showdowns always play out the same way:
1) Waffles Too finds me and acts all nonchalant like he doesn't even know I'm here. |
2.1) In a feeble attempt to appear dominant, Waffles Too makes the first move. 2.2) Notice the blur of my right paw as I anticipate his play. |
3.1) Knowing he's no match for me, Waffles Too initiates the side drop-n-roll. 3.2) Notice how cool and calm I remain. Not even a single airplane ear. |
4.1) Submission. |
5) Y'all come back now, y'hear? |
We don't know about this. We think Waffles Too is trying to trick you into thinking he's giving up and then he'll pounce!
ReplyDeleteToo damn funny!!!...airplane ears ;)...You & Waffle Too's antics are to die for...I love you crazy cats!
ReplyDeleteYou know Katie - you catch more flies with honey....
ReplyDeleteKatie 1, Waffles 0
ReplyDeleteNice work Katie! We'll see what happens in the next round. You don't think he's letting you win...do you?
Wow, he is getting big already! You had better hope he does not realize that!
ReplyDeleteWhew. You have no idea how relieved I am to see this. Thank Ceiling Cat that little whippersnapper is learning who's the boss of him.
ReplyDeleteAnd he better not forget it.
Katie,
ReplyDeleteLet me fight your battles for you. har har har *evil laughs*
yours devotedly,
Brad
Sheriff Katie, you got style!
ReplyDeleteHmmm, we love your showdown, but don't know if Waffles is just acting or sincere. Keep both eyes open, Katie!
ReplyDeleteWe like gals that are large and in charge!
ReplyDeleteHi Katie, we're glad that Waffles Too is learning the rules of the roost. A good whap in the head for nothing at all always does wonders to reinforce learning and submission.
ReplyDeleteYou show him Katie. He knows who is boss. Have a marvelous Monday.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
Good work Katie! Do you see how BIG he's getting?!?!? But you will always have suPURRior brain power! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteGreat job making sure he knows who is the boss, Katie. He's getting so big, he's going to be harder to put he smack down on soon, so it's a good thing he knows where he stands now!
ReplyDeleteDear Katie, it's so nice to have Waffles to play with you, isn't it? You are gorgeous, and I love your hat!

I see you have Waffles Too firmly under control!
ReplyDeleteIt's good to see the sheriff is still in town, Katie.
ReplyDeleteOh you are being a wonderful big sister and playing with him. We are are very pleased. Our training of Tuiren is going well she is fitting in with us nicely.
ReplyDeleteYou show him, Katie! Once you let him know his place, it must be nice to have a pal to play with :-)
ReplyDeleteOink oink,

I never had any doubts that you were showing him the lay of the land. Now if only he would find his way to another land - MOL sorry I don't think Glogirl will allow
ReplyDeleteOk Daisy Duke, you won
ReplyDeleteBenny & Lily
You stand up for yourself Katie - Waffles is all hot air!
ReplyDeleteLuv Hannah and Lucy xx xx
Submission? I think that's downright worship!
ReplyDeleteThe submissive drop....or IS it??? :-)
ReplyDeleteHere's an excerpt from an article I just read:
"Why a cat would expose her belly depends on the immediate circumstances in which she finds herself. If she’s in a face-off with another cat, rolling over onto her side to expose her belly isn’t a sign of submission, but rather, the ultimate defensive reaction which communicates to the opponent that all weapons (teeth and all claws) will be engaged if a fight is to become physical." Hmmm.... Here's a link to the article: http://www.catbehaviorassociates.com/why-you-shouldnt-pet-your-cats-belly/
Love this! Autumn used to always do the drop and roll but Nicky would attack anyway. You still have those lady-like manners. I wanna see a good whap whap whap!. Hey, is W2 sticking his paw in the electrical socket. Heh!
ReplyDeleteBTW, love the comment above. The peeps KNOW they shouldn't pet my belly even if TW goes and pets P-Kitty's belly.
Way to stand your ground!
ReplyDeleteWaffles Too is getting so big, Katie! You will always be the Top Cat, nobody can take that billing away from you.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it fun to have him around though? I'm telling ya, two against two...it's a good thing! :)
(Don't ask Coco, she'll totally disagree).
There's a saying in kitty land"Hell hath no fury like a woman cat scorned!"don't worry Katie you'll always be the top cat in the Town House,xx Speedy
ReplyDeleteHa woo. "Airplane ears"! Is that like doing Malamute Ears? http://armyoffourdigest.blogspot.com/2010/08/making-progress.html
ReplyDeleteThat's what we call them.
Black and Whites rule!
Luv,
Dave
Hey beautiful, I just love you in that hat! It certainly is good you put Waffles II in his place and let him know right off just who rules the house. I do predict tho, that eventually you'll give in and play a little with him anyway - just a couple of playful paw bats.
ReplyDeleteYou are wise to train him while young...he looks like he could be a good match for you!
ReplyDeleteKatie, Looks like you have Waffles Too trained very well to give prior to any fisticuffs. Good job. Enjoy being #1 kitty!
ReplyDeleteMaxwell: Dood, seriously, what's with giving Katie jazz-hands all the time???
ReplyDeleteYou STILL need to watch out for the little pipsqueak! He might still keep on trying til he.... He WON'T win, right????
ReplyDeleteI wasn't the least bit worried about him running over you Katie!
ReplyDeleteNice paw action Katie, I do suggest you might want to use a bit more hook with your right...catch him right on those little whiskers, that has to hurt or at least leave a bruise...heh...heh
ReplyDeleteI see you have Waffle Too under control ( for the moment:)
ReplyDeleteXOXO
I believe you know what you are doing, Katie. I bet you picked out that oh-so-stunning hat all by yourself, too.
ReplyDeleteKatie, that's a great thing to see. We're so happy you have everything in hand, err, paw. Ateret wants Waffles to know he should skip the stupid stuff and just submit - it's faster and saves time.
ReplyDeleteWell done Katie. You have to keep the little upstart in his place.
ReplyDeleteLove the last picture. Loos so cute in a cowboy hat.
ReplyDeleteWe watched the trailer to the movie about the key. Sounds like a pawsome video. Thanks for telling us about it.
ReplyDeleteNice whap. Still, we would like to see a COMBINATION move of several whaps and a jab, perhaps. Wilbur tries that little side-slide-y move over to Skootch, but he then turns into the aggressor. BAD kittens!
ReplyDeleteOh boy, it's excitings, like a movie! :)
ReplyDeleteyoW! Katie, you are good! Way to cat-handle that little varmint. We couldn't help ourselves and were hissing for you :D
ReplyDeletePip, Smidgen, Minnie, Hollie
Excellent Katie! Mes knows that intimidation now works! Kozmo is 2 and a half times bigger than me, but he is still scared!
ReplyDeleteGood Work!
Kisses
Nellie
You go girl!
