Waffles Wednesday: The Life of the Mad Kitty Cocktail Party

Hi everybuddy, Waffles here.

It's only been a few days since my Mad Kitty Cocktail Party at the MeowWorld Conference, but EVERYONE is still talking about it! 

It was an exclusive, invitation-only party and a chance for the who's who of pet blogging and social media to taste the newest flavor from mike's HARDER and meet up with the REAL Mad Kitty. That's me.

The Invite

As soon as I arrived at the conference I started handing out coasters to all of my friends. I even gave them to a few DOGS! Glogirly wrote my room number on the back so everyone would know where to go.

The Pawparazzi
Cameras were clicking and flashes were flashing... the press couldn't get enough of the REAL Mad Kitty. Many showered me with all sorts of delectable treats and toys. They were pretty much star struck ...and in awe of my 15" tail.

The Uninvited Guest
Somebody arrived with a *plus one.* Excuse me, NO kittens allowed. Seriously, someone should have carded this kid at the door.




Mad Kitty Selfies!

EVERYONE posed with a can of my signature cocktail. And this is only about half of them! The rest were too busy asking for my pawtograph.

The party lasted for almost 2 hours.  I worked the crowd, winding my way through peoples' legs and chatting it up on top of my bed. Glogirly said she was super proud of me and that I was a purrfect host.

Our friends at mike's HARDER supplied all the Mad Kitty Cocktail we could drink. ...but they forgot to send a clean up crew.

WAFFLES:  Boss! LOOK!!! It's the very first can of Mad Kitty Cocktail!

KATIE:  Waffles, you KNOW you're way too young to drink that. And... you're a cat. There's that.

WAFFLES:  But my picture's on it and everything!

KATIE:  Don't remind me. Something tells me I'm going to be looking at your face every time Glogirly opens up the fridge for the next 20 years.

WAFFLES:  Well maybe by then I'll be old enough to drink my own drink.

Glogirly's always been a fan of mike's. She loves anything that's sweet & fizzy. Apple Firebomb is a sweet & spicy apple-cinnamon flavored adult beverage with a splash of heat. It's a purrfect fall flavor for those cool, crisp nights. Or days ..it's 5:00 pm somewhere, right?

Me and Glogirly just entered our design in their latest contest for a new Dragonfruit Flavored Mike's and we're SO excited about it! I had a special photo shoot for it and everything. Don't I look all dragon-y???

We think that a big part of the reason mike's® chose our winning Mad Kitty Cocktail design was because of all the social buzz YOU helped create. Ok, and because I look awesomely fierce and handsome. But did you know that our first can design had more comments than any of the other 217 can designs in the contest???

And if you can believe it...a few of those comments weren't very nice. As hard as it is for me to believe, I don't think many of the other artists have or even LIKE cats. Or maybe they're allergic. No wonder, because some of them think my name is Sniffles! SNIFFLES? What kind of name is THAT???

Hi everybuddy, Waffles here.

GUESS WHAT GUESS WHAT GUES WHAT?!?!?!?  We just got the news! The email went something like this:

"Dear Waffles,  (ok, they actually said, Dear Glogirly)  

CONGRATULATIONS!!! Your BRILLIANT can design for Mike's Harder has won!"

They called me BRILLIANT!!! Did you see that? Brilliant!!! I'm pretty sure that means I'm handsome AND smart.

Speech! Speech!
I want to thank the Academy– um, I mean all my friends and fans, who voted for Mad Kitty Cocktail! Thanks to YOU, your votes and especially your comments, Mike got the message. And now, not only will a CAT be on their next collectors edition can, but the cat on the can will be ME!!!

And as if having my face on the can wasn't awesome enough, we win a cash prize too! This means we'll be able to share and make a nice donation to our shelter kitty friends at Minnesota's Feline Rescue, Inc.

Orange Paws Crossed

WAFFLES:  Glogirly says good things happen when you cross your paws. It's kind of hard to cross them and eat at the same time though. Or use my litter box. Or touch the Boss. Um, WHY are my paws crossed again?

KATIE:  Well I suppose you want something, right?

WAFFLES:  OH yeah! The contest I'm in is almost over and I'm still in third place. It's that Mike's Hard Lemonade can contest thing. The voting ends in just a day. Lots of my friends have been voting and leaving nice comments for me on my Can Page.




WAFFLES:  But somebody left a comment and said my can was LAME. Can you believe it?

KATIE:  Well, don't look at me. You might be annoying. A little wet behind the ears. But you're not lame. And even if you were, I sure wouldn't take the time to write a comment TELLING you you are.

KATIE:  It's President's Day here in the United States. The day people save big money on mattresses and Mazdas. The day the banks shut down and the mail stops. Here in the Townhouse though, it's business as usual.

WAFFLES:  Hey Boss! Can I be your Chief of Stuff?

KATIE:  STAFF, Waffles. You're my Chief of STAFF. It's your job to keep my affairs in order.

WAFFLES:  You're having an AFFAIR???

KATIE:  NO, Waffles! My affairs–

WAFFLES:  BOSS! You're having more than one AFFAIR???

KATIE:  Jeez, Waffles. Calm down. My *affairs* are simply my day-to-days. You know, activities, commitments, appearances... Like my daily naps, my morning snack, my mid-afternoon episode of Bird TV.  Are you taking notes?

WAFFLES:  Um, notes??

KATIE:  Waffles, do you have a status report for me on the whereabouts of all the wand toys and catnip mice?

WAFFLES:  Um. What's a status report?

KATIE:  Waffles, I don't think you're taking your responsibilities very seriously.

WAFFLES:  I liked it better when I was your chief of stuff.

KATIE:  You're in my chair.

KATIE:  In honor of the Caturday Art Blog Hop, we've decided to take a step back in time, and across the pond, to one of our favorite television dramas, Downton Abbey.

WAFFLES:  Jeez, Boss. Are you sure this isn't Downton Crabby?

KATIE:  Forget it, Waffles. Let's get on with it. So a few months back there were some hilarious photos making the rounds online. Dogster, Catster, the Huffington Post... everyone was sharing photo comparisons of the Downton Abbey characters as cats and dogs. 

So today, we ask, "What if..."

WAFFLES:  Um, what's a valet??? Is that like a mallet?

KATIE:  I sure hope this means I don't have to clean my own litter box.

KATIE:  *Her Ladynip* ... Except for the goofy get-up, I could get used to this.

Hi everybuddy, Waffles here.

I'm taking over today's Caturday Art Hop post on account of a new contest me and Glogirly have entered. The Mike's Hard Lemonade people are going to sell a brand new flavor of their fizzy adult beverage this fall and they'll be launching it with four limited edition cans designed by ... well, anyone who wants to enter the contest!

The flavor is a super-spicy, hot cinnamon and apple. When Glogirly saw the contest she just KNEW there needed to be a CAT on the can. She even got to name it! Truth be told, Gloman came up with the name.

So what do you think? Wouldn't it be cool to see ME on lots and lots of Mad Kitty Cocktail cans???

Glogirly says I'm too young to drink. Well, I'm a cat too. There's that. But I'm going to tell the Mike's Hard Lemonade people that I'm available for purr-sonal appearances.
