Waffles and the Super Bowl Quarterback

WAFFLES:  Hey Boss, it's Monday morning and I want my quarter back. That Superbowl was a rip-off. There weren't even any CATS in the commercials.

KATIE:  Waffles, it's QUARTERBACK. Not quarter back.

WAFFLES:  That's what I said.  I want my quarter back. That's like a whole half of my allowance.

KATIE:  Allowance? Wait, what? Nevermind. Waffles, the quarterback is the guy that throws the football.

WAFFLES:  How about a dime? Can I at least get a dime back? A nickel? Don't they have some kind of return policy?

KATIE:  Waffles, for the last time! The quarterback doesn't have anything to do with money.

WAFFLES:  That's not what I heard. I heard he makes LOTS of money. He's probably got quarters coming out of his –

KATIE:  That's not how it works.

WAFFLES:  Well that's messed up.

KATIE:  Seriously, Waffles. What kind of sports fan are you? The quarterback throws the ball to the other players so they can score a touchdown.

WAFFLES:  Touch down? You mean like THIS?

KATIE:  WHOA, WHOA, WHOA!  Flag on the play!  Flag on the play!  Personal foul!!

WAFFLES:  Personal FOWL??? You mean like chicken?

Superbowl Sunday
Truth be told, we're pretty fair weather football fans. Ok, the weather has nothing to do with it. We just watch the Super Bowl for the commercials. Which by the way, would be WAY better if the commercial makers put cats in them.

Whether you love the game, love the commercials or just love the snacks, we hope you had a Superfun Sunday.

  3. We didn't have anything to do with the Super Bowl, this year or any year. Actually, my human was on a date with a nice guy (who I haven't met yet, but who has seen loads of photos of me!), who equally loathes football.

  5. Hubby watched the Snoozer Bowl, and we call watched the half time show. I will skin thru the recording and check out the commercial later. Roxie the cat and I dvr'd the Cat,Kitten and Puppy Bowls, but ended up watching the movie she recorded earlier. We had some snacks and was sitting on the couch, when all the sudden fireworks were going off in the field behind the houe. Someone was happy with the end of the game, but it scared the cats. I have a set of claw scratches on my legs. A nice night with good food, Italian sausage and pepper subs, loaded potato skins, veggie platter and for dessert cheesecake pie with fresh raspberries and whipped cream. Naturally, my little feline begged got a smidge of whipped cream!

  6. We watch the super bowl for the commercials, and we pretty disappointed. The only decent one was the Budweiser with the dog and Clydesdales in it.

  8. MOL ! We don't watch the super bowl (except the one in the kitchen), and it looks like Waffles knows as much as we do about American football ! Purrs

  9. We watched the Kitten Bowl. Z-girl isn't a football fan. Last time she had the SB on was when the Ravens (her hometown team) won. And she explained they are named after birds, so we went along with the story. Waffles, definitely get your quarter BACK.

  10. Not only the Kitten Bowl but this year there was a Cat Bowl, featuring teams of adult cats, some with Special Needs ! Plus the annual Puppy Bowl - so you don't have to watch the humans !

  11. Waffles, in the olden days, there were nickelbacks, dimebacks, AND quarterbacks! All has something to do with how far off the line of scrimmage the player is. The Hubby knows all that stuff!

  13. We didn't watch the kitten bowl, and didn't watch much of the game. We want our money back too, it wasn't a good game.

  14. My favorite Super Bowl commercial has LOTS of cats in it. I think it aired in the 90s, and it was advertising a data company. It featured...a cat drive. That's the best way I can describe it. Like a cattle drive, only cats instead of cattle. Absolutely hilarious. Look up 'herding cats commercial' on YouTube.

  15. We love watching the kitten bowl each year. We agree that there should be a Super Bowl cat commercial. Waffles you have to practice you quarterback skills. Thanks for the share. Have a wonderful day.
