Waffles and the Snack Cabinet - Two Years Later

Can you believe it's already been two years since we moved to the mountains? Two years ago we were sleeping on the floor waiting for our furniture to arrive. Two years ago we were building fires to keep warm and melting snow to flush the toilets when the power went out. And two years ago, Waffles was afraid he'd never find the snack cabinet in the new kitchen.

Flashback to two years ago -

WAFFLES:  I can't find anything in this new kitchen, Boss.

KATIE:  What do you mean? You can see the whole house from up there.

WAFFLES:  I mean I can't find the snack cabinet with the Cheetos and stuff. How am I going to raid the snack cabinet in the middle of the night if I don't know where the snack cabinet is

KATIE:  Maybe there's no snack cabinet. Did you ever think of that?

WAFFLES:  La la la la... I'm going to pretend you never said that, Boss.

About Today's Photos
When we moved into the mountain house, Waffles and Katie weren't the only ones that couldn't find a thing in the new kitchen.

Gloman claims that Glogirly moves everything around in-between his visits because he can't find a thing either.

Fortunately, now that we're into year two, Waffles knows EXACTLY where the snack cabinet is.

  3. Roxie wishes our cabinets had handles. Her door talent is limited to shutting herself in!!! She 💕 loved hearing Waffles meow!!!

  6. Way to go, Waff! We like to open our cabinets by grabbing the bottom and pulling, which means they thump-thump shut several times and alert our humans that we are going shopping in there again. You use the handle like humans do! What a smart boy!

  8. Waffles, I don't see anything in there that you like to eat. Were there Cheetos and chicken snacks in there that I couldn't see? You are a very clever boy.

  9. Waffles, I've lived in our house since 1991, and I still don't know where anything is in the kitchen! It's The Hubby's kitchen; I'm just a guest, so I spend lots of time 'guessing' where I might find what I'm looking for!

  10. We always say, if it's not accessible, you have to do it yourself!

  12. We asked our orange brofur Opie about how come Waffles is so deft with his paws, and Opie sez it's because he's orange. Orange Tabbies have extra dexterity in their joints that can manipulate stuff like opening draws and cupboards. We don't know if this is really true since Opie often makes stuff up... But we're applauding Waffles anyway.

  13. I don't have good ways to open cupboards here. So I can't get in them to find treats.
