Thank you SO much to all our friends who helped us get the vote out for me in AmazeCats Next Top Cat. I'm not moving on to the next round but I want to congratulate my friends Quasi and Smoky! They took the top two spots in my clowder. Glogirly, Waffles Too and I wish them luck in the next round!
Darn it, I wanted to win this book so I could get some tips on dealing with our Hammy kitten...
ReplyDeletei love to win one . i love to read the book it cute book
ReplyDeleteIt's quite obvious that Princeton is our chaotic kitten. We think since he is nearly two yrs old, this must be a state of mind!
ReplyDeleteI love Simon's Cat, and that kitten is hilarious! We don't have any kitten chaos around here, but I think if there were a kitten, Holly would feel the same way about him/her that Katie feels about Waffles Too.
ReplyDeleteIt's a good day in our house when a new Simon's Cat video comes out! I would love to enter to win & I would most CERTAINLY take Waffles off your hands, Katie! He's a cutie, hubba hubba!!!!

Simon's Cat never fails to make me laugh, because he SO gets cats and their quirks! The cat who wants to be fed and the cat who wants to be let in are my favorites!

ReplyDeleteMy chaotic kitten story is about the first cat I ever had. He went on a road trip with us and when left alone in our motel room one night when we were at dinner, he was naughty and got into our snacks and tried to get into his kibble container. We came back to find Twinkie packages chewed open with Twinkie bits mashed into the carpet and his plastic kibble container was covered in teeth & claw marks. He wasn't starving, he had been fed, but I think he was bored & tempted. Anyway, we found it hilarious and I still have that plastic container as a keepsake as he has been gone from our lives for 12 years now. RIP my Charlie cat!
ReplyDeleteWe are big fans and subscribers of Simon's cat too! Our Mommy has some of his books in her shopping cart in the jungle (we mean Amazon)! :)
ReplyDeleteI would like to win!
ReplyDeleteNubbin wiggles,
Oskar
I love Simon's Cat too. I have one of his older books and they make me smile.
ReplyDeleteI will share tomorrow.
I am sorry you did not advance Katie - we did vote for you!

ReplyDeleteHello, Katie,
ReplyDeleteYour "letter" struck me, because I just had a case with one of my kitties. He's four years old, thus we cannot just say "he's young"?... He was playing in front of the closet in which are stored our DVD's (there is a mirror in the centre and it looks he loves himself very much). And... he disappeared, after a while I heard little meows, I wondered where he was, looked behind the closet, no Tulah... Yes, he was inside, but before he managed to get out... I really feared I would have to call my husband back from his work and dismantle the closet...
Life would be so boring without our pets! :-)
Smoochies to both of you!
I want one of those books!
ReplyDeleteI SO wish you were moving into the next bracket, Katie - it would have been so much fun!
Thanks so much for this offering! My kitten tale (tail?) is about Pinky and Shadow, feral kittens I adopted at about 5 weeks of age. First I kept them in the bathroom until my older cats tolerated the idea that they were going to stay. Then, I put them in a large four foot high, by three foot wide cage in the living room so they could learn to interact with one another. With a cage this large it made it a bit crowded, so I pushed it up against the bookcase. No, they didn't pull any books off the shelves. But, they were very interested in a china cat figurine I had forgotten was on the shelf. As I was snapping pictures I saw Shadow eyeing the ceramic kitty, then Pinky joined him. Before my very eyes they had managed to swipe the thing right off the shelf. I have a picture of it falling in mid air with their paws outstretched... caught in the act!
ReplyDeleteMom's a book addict so we'd love to win this for her and be able to check it out ourselves when she's reading it (trying to at least-we like to get right up close-books are pretty comfy to lay on!) buzzyngabe(at)yahoo.com

ReplyDeleteWe don't have a kitten at the moment but would still love to read it. Have a good weekend!
ReplyDeleteWe just shared on Fb & Twitter!
ReplyDeleteYou should be a pro at spotting kitten chaos by now, Katie!
ReplyDeleteHa ha the kitty in the bread bin. LOL! Have a fabulous Friday.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
We have a psychotic cat in our home. It's our newest brofur, Otis. He'll be 2 in Aug. he is a whack job. He is HUGE (17 lbs) and doesn't realize how ginormous he is. He like to do the "flying squirrel" and land on top of us and pin us to the floor. his name should be Dennis the Menace...
ReplyDeleteWe would love to win one of these books. Our 8 year old Minchie still has a lot of kitten left in him! He's always getting into trouble.
ReplyDeleteWe love Simon's Cats! Brulee reminds us a lot of that little kitten, just playing while the older sister, Truffle watches and gets in trouble!
ReplyDeleteDaddy would love that book. Well we don't have a kitten anymore and NO we are not taking Waffles off your hands, you are stuck with him Katie, but when Scylla was a kitten she used to climb way up high in the oak tree and MEOW pitifully till youngest boy bean got the tall ladder and got her down. This game didn't end until one day youngest boy bean didn't feel like getting up (he was still asleep) and Mommy left her up there while she feed Charybdis and Socks. Scylla magically discovered how to get herself down.
ReplyDeleteWe has all the puppy chaos we can handle.
We would love that book! Our kitten chaos is caused by Raz - he loves to swat the blinds and wake Mom up in the middle of the night. He is also on PLAY mode 24/7!
ReplyDeleteThe Florida Furkids
Would love to Have Simon's new book. Kitten chaos? How much time do you have? I had one kitty who thought it was his job to take anything that belonged to me, clothes, shoes, and put them under the hall table. It was pretty funny watching him drag a shoe that was twice his size from my bedroom to the hall...drag, rest, drag, rest...Then push-push-push under the table - so funny!
ReplyDeleteI would be afraid my little sis Kitshka would ME into a bread box! Trust me Katie: don't let Waffles Too read the book!
ReplyDeletePurrs
We can't enter, but we certainly wish everyone who does the best of luck!
ReplyDeleteOooh the toaster oven...oooo...
ReplyDeleteI sure know about kitten chaos! Ask mom!!
Simon's Cat always elicits LOL and MOL around here. This morning the two torties, Calista Jo (our youngest at nine months) and Astrid (her senior by ten months) were chasing each other back and forth again and again from the deck through the kitchen and foyer to the dining room leaving wet pawprints throughout as it is raining today. If Calista was in front, she would always veer off around the kitchen island and Astrid would continue ahead oblivious to the whole thing. All of us hope our mommy can win a copy of the book. Purrs and hugs from the kitties at The Cat on My Head, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Josette
ReplyDeleteMy kitty 2yr old Tubby is a nutso kitty whom stays up all night and really starts getting into trouble about 3am. And mid morning he flys around the house. And he climbs anything he can think of. LOL. He has so much energy. And he is so sassy which I love. I would love to win Simon's Cat in Kitten Chaos. Thanks for the giveaway.

My 9 month old kitten, Randy, is a sweetheart but he's just gotten the courage to jump on the kitchen counter. He climbed into our stainless steel dish drainer and knocked it into the sink making a huge racket (and probably scaring himself half to death!) I hope he won't be doing that again. =^..^= Thanks for the chance to win Simon's new book!
ReplyDeletehow much room do we have in this little comment box? not much, huh? so I'll try to narrow it down. well, Sparky is now two, so no longer an official kitten, but the damage done by her and her beloved sister Smokey are still on display her in my sad little house. the leather couch, or what's left of it, is a topic of conversation and a cautionary tale to any friends we have over (Q: "oh dear. can you fix leather when it's all shredded like that?" A: "No"). Curtains are frayed. Several vintages vases are no more, expect for the few I was able to save while prying their heads out of. They both had a thing about sticking their noses into everything and then getting stuck. it was expensive and funny...except for the time Sparky got her head stuck in the watering can and almost drowned. or the time she got stuck in a plastic bag...behind the fridge...oh, I'm getting tired just remembering this, so I hope that's enough. Yea Random Generator! Send us the book!!! (thanks Glogirly for the fun give away!)
ReplyDeleteHi Katie, there appear to be lots of ideas on how to deal with annoying felines in that book. Getting poked by a younger one is not good. Even though we live in Canada, we have a US postal mailbox and we're only a hour from the border at most. But we'll take Waffles Too. He can play with the nice black kitty down the street that likes to rub up against me. He's really nice.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun book. But we are no kitty even though my Lilu thinks she is one
ReplyDeleteBenny & Lily
The Chaos doesn't end at kittenhood! Our The Baby was a rascal the minute she arrived up until this very minute. No drawer unsnooped, no doo-dad unlaunched...no bum unsniffed...
ReplyDeleteHahahahahahahaah! this post are so so funny!
ReplyDeleteHave a nice weekend!
I LOVE Simon's Cat! While Pooka kitty is no longer a kitten - he acts like one! Matter of a fact, I think he gets into MORE trouble NOW (he's 4) than he did when he was a kitten! He is a Tuxedo Terror :) He LOVE straws (drinking straws) and will steal any you might have if you don't watch out (he also knows the kitchen drawer where they are kept and knows/hears when it is open no matter where he's at in the house). He will then proudly carry it around the house, "bragging" about his "find/kill". He will also go put it in the water dish! Why that is unique is that he stole a plastic fork once and immediately went and put it in his food dish (the straw has never gone in the food dish)! We have 6 cats total, but he is a never ending source of laughter and chaos...and love! (meprevost at yahoo dot com)

ReplyDeleteWe would like to win too Katie! Oh, the book, not the Waffles!
ReplyDeleteThe book yes, Waffles Too - NO! I have enough chaos with the Ducky boy. He is just silly. Like playing with his treats. I just move in and eat them!
ReplyDeleteOkay, Katie, when Ernie came to live here he was about 7 months old...still considered a kitten....and he drove me nuts! Kinda like how Waffles treats you....wouldn't leave me alone, stole my favorite napping spots, tried to eat my foods and play with my favorite toys...a real pain in the you know what! But the sad part of it is...he's still like that!
ReplyDeleteWally
Mom said she wants to win Waffles...yeh right Mom. Lets see, the zaniest kitten was T-O-Y! He still on occasion will run up a doorway, walks on top of the railing and likes to sleep on top of our tall fridge. He goes to the Vet in a harness and leash because he refuses to go into a carrier but he behaves in the waiting room. =^Y^=
ReplyDeleteTW doesn't know how to read but we could look at the pictures I suppose. We look forward to each new Simon's Cat video. He's gonna be around here signing books but I think TW has a condo meeting that night.
ReplyDeleteMy ex-kitten Red sounds exactly like Simon's cat in the little youtube clips. In fact when I watch them he looks round to see who it is! Good Luck to whoever will be the US winner.
ReplyDeleteYou were robbed!!
ReplyDeleteWe want to win the book too. I could use some tips on living with a kitten...
Allie: WAIT. You've been suffering the tortures of the damned-- ah, I mean, of the Orange Terror Variety for FIVE whole MONTHS already? My how fun flies when you're doing time.
ReplyDeleteLet's see...that's...ONE book giveaway per month of kitten chaos in your home. Coincidence? I think not!
Oh Katie! Mes would LOVES to win Simon's Book (hes my hero!) Me has gots some of my bestest ideas from him.
ReplyDeleteMe does has a US Address!!!

Hi, Katie! We have nine cats in our house, can you believe it? Four of them are orange (!) including Fiona, who looks just like Waffles Too. Lt. Dan only has three legs. We have three all black kitties (Juno has only one eye and three legs), one tuxedo cat, and one calico. And we have a beagle, Clementine. The other day, Jethro, the tuxedo cat, helped me unpack the groceries but was too inquisitive with a plastic bag. He got it wedged under his arm and ran through the house in terror. The other cats were so frightened by his behavior that their tails got as huge as bottle brushes! Jethro was rescued from the bag, but was freaked out the rest of the evening.
ReplyDeleteOur momma of 8 of us really could use a laugh or too because she is in the hospital alot due to illnesses we miss her when she is gone but we have grandma and uncle who take care of us. Pleaze we want to win for her so she can get a laugh from Simons book. So pleaze pleaze we have our paws cross for her to win. Autumn (shy cat that momma saved by giving her fluids when she came to the rescue, Firecracker (we think she is like the orange one not named in your household),elvis (the king), casablanca, lucy, macaroni, molly (my true sister momma hand fed us and we got to stay)and me Maddie I am the queen.. btw Molly is black n white and we have no orangies but we do have a firecracker
ReplyDeletedid I forget we have a very neurotic dog who thinks he is boss just wait someday we will corner him lol
ReplyDeleteWhy don't you just jump right on waffles too and Splat!he wouldn't see it comming Katie,xSpeedy
ReplyDeleteKatie, kitten chaos for a long time here in the warehouse apartment. First, Valentina came in and followed me everywhere and washed my ears and would climb on me to give me kisses. Then, we got Manhattan who was 7 months old. She would sit and meow at the closet, or the kitchen fan, and liked to hide in the box spring. THEN Lulu arrived. She fashioned peep holes into expensive sheer window panels, would jump like a flying squirrel from the dresser to the bed,and early in the morning bang the window shade making a clanging noise. Vali started chewing wires at a young age and Lulu shreds paper...me, I'm a fan of plastic. Z-Girl says because all of us are under 5 years old we have lots of kitten left in us, but I think I'm the cat with sophistication (sure, I like a good game with the laser pointer) and the rest of them are lunatics. CRAZY. ~Coco Chanel
ReplyDeletePee S we just retweeted Glogirly's announcement of the Simon Give away!
ReplyDeleteSeriously, all we have to do is leave a comment about kitten chaos in our house? We'll give you kitten chaos in one word: Kizmet. Now, please pick our name because we must have this book!! Purrs from the Zee/Zoey gang!
ReplyDeleteLove Simon and would like to win a book. Thanks for the give away.

Simon's cat is almost as funny as you and Waffles Too :)
ReplyDeleteAudrey is 11 years old and she is as bad as a chaotic kitten - jumps onto the kitchen counter and surfs around every single mealtime, looking for chances to get some licks of people food. It is getting tiresome. We need Simon's cat and his hints!!!
ReplyDeleteFunny, Funny just want to read it
ReplyDeleteWe love Simon's Cat! Moosey is grown up now, but out of the blue will make us laugh with some kittenish behavior ... flipping around on the floor with his catnip toys, running through the living room for no apparent reason, and so forth. :)
ReplyDeleteSimon's Cat is always funny. And I feel your pain about little orange pain-in-the-butt brofurs. I got one of those, too.
ReplyDeleteWould you believe I have never had a kitten in my life??? Wanna come over cutie?
ReplyDeleteWish i could join. =(

ReplyDeleteWe love Simon's cat, only have 1 now, but have had experiences bringing a new kitten in with older kitties before, so can relate with Katie's trying times now :)
ReplyDeleteKeep up the good work, love reading about Katie and Waffles!
I know a cat named Silver who might like this book...
