Finally

Hi everyone, Katie here.

Toilet paper strewn about - check.
Tripping hazards Toys on steps - check.
Hairball at front door on nice rug - check.
Hide all the bodies - check.

I was ready for them. Glogirly & Gloman returned from their big road trip late last night. Against my better judgement, I decided to let them in. Oh there was lots of gushing from Glogirly. "I missed you SO much, Katie...I'm SO sorry we were gone SO long...I love you SO much Katie... blah-blah-stinkin-blah."

I played the part of adoring & forgiving cat convincingly. I've shown her affection she didn't think existed.

Fake.  Fake.  Fake.

Tomorrow she gets my REAL gift.  You WON'T want to miss this.

Staycation Day 9

Day 9 of my staycation was welcomed by postcard #2 from Glogirly. Apparently she has found a new *friend.* Someone who comes when she calls, fawns over her, and eats out of her hand.  That's just great.  If she gives that Alvin dude any of my salmon, there's going to be trouble.

Staycation Day 8

Well Glogirly FINALLY took time out from her busy yeah right schedule of touring the national parks with Gloman to send me a postcard. Not sure I can say it's the *thought* that counts.

Who exactly do you suppose these animals were sticking their tongues out at anyway? Certainly not ME. Gloman's the one with all the camera gear. Enough said.

Staycation Day 5

Hi everyone, Katie here.

Welcome back to my staycation. While Glogirly and Gloman are still laughing it up on their road trip, I'm here at the townhouse dodging cat sitter visits between what SHOULD be blissful nap sessions. For the next two weeks or 100 years...I'm not sure which... I'll be sharing my postcards to Glogirly and her postcards to me. That is if she ever bothers to send me anything.

DAY 5:

Close encounters of the cat sitter kind.  I believe I've made a few (hundred) references to the smelly cat sitter that is apparently charged with my care.  Many of you have asked what she smells like. Or even why she smells.  I believe she showers daily, so that is not the issue at paw. If only she smelled of sushi, then, just MAYBE, I could get past the constant intrusions. But noooooo.  She comes here smelling of CAT.   

Not just any cat.  HER cat.  Ewwwww.

Staycation Day 4 - The Petties!

Hi everyone, Katie here.

Welcome to Day 4 of my staycation. Still no Glogirly. No Gloman either. Only the smelly cat sitter and the doorbell-ringing UPS man. Today I want to talk about petties.

DAY 4:
Do you know what a Pettie is? Well it's much, much more than what Glogirly tries to do to me every chance she gets. It's Dogtime Media's biggest and most prestigious awards for excellence in pet blogging. Now don't go holding Dogtime's name against them...they just know that us cats are confident and don't need everything named after us like dogs do.



Nominations are NOW OPEN and we'd love for you to vote for us and your other blogging furriends in a "Pre-Pettie Contest" which will award $10,000 to a non-profit 501c3 shelter like our special friends at PAWS in Norwalk, CT and Blind Cat Rescue & Sanctuary of Saint Pauls, NC.  The $10,000 prize will be awarded on July 19 (Hey! that's Glogirly's birthday!)

Nominations will be accepted until June 29 and you can vote once a day until then at the Petties Nominations Center.  You can nominate your favorite pet blogs in a variety of categories AND you can nominate a non-profit 501c3 shelter or rescue group(s) of your choice.

Winning bloggers in each of the nominated categories will be awarded $1,000 to donate to the shelter of their choice and a cool trophy. Glogirly says there's some extra salmon in it for me too. Winners will be announced during an online ceremony in September.

You know me, I love to win. But I'd REALLY love for our shelter furiends to win.

Staycation Day 2

Welcome back to my staycation.  While Glogirly and Gloman are laughing it up on their road trip, I'm stuck at home with no one to look cute for except the smelly cat sitter.  For the next two weeks or 100 years...I'm not sure which... I'll be sharing my postcards to Glogirly and her postcards to me.

DAY 2:

You didn't come home last night. I brought my toy downstairs at the scheduled time and there was no one to play with but me and my lifeless toy. So, do you feel guilty yet?  Well you should. I'm going to eat ALL the food the smelly cat sitter gives me and then some more.  I know where you keep it. So there.

Meanwhile, I'm staycationing here at the townhouse.  Oh don't worry, I'm NOT alone.  There's a smelly cat sitter walking in on me every few seconds.  For the next two weeks, I'll be sharing my postcards to Glogirly. And her postcards to me, should she think to even send one.

DAY 1:
The moment the garage door shut and the two zoomed off into the sunset, I considered the toilet bar officially open for business.  I'll have a double.  Up. Neat.
