Bound for PetSafe's Paw Print Blogger Summit

Word in the Townhouse is the Cat Sitter will be paying us a visit soon. No, not to take care of the sniffly-nosed Glogirly. Next week, our girl and her box of kleenex are flying to the Smoky Mountains. Knoxville, Tennessee to be exact.

The nice people at PetSafe have invited Glogirly to attend their second annual Paw Print Blogger Summit at their corporate headquarters in Knoxville! They even invited ME, however I need to stay home to watch over the Townhouse. And Waffles.

You might not recognize PetSafe by name...but we KNOW you'll recognize some of their awesome products. In fact, one of our most favorite that we use every single day is made by PetSafe - our Drinkwell Pagoda Fountain. We had a giveaway a few months ago for this fountain and cats across the country were falling over themselves to enter.

PetSafe specializes in pet behavior, lifestyle and containment product solutions. They cater to both cats and dogs. ...but we're not going to hold the dog-thing against them.

They also make the Come With Me Kitty leash and harness - right up Waffles' alley. They do treat and food dispensers, litter boxes, Lickety Stick treats and of course TOYS.

It's going to be an exciting four days for Glogirly and a dozen other pet bloggers. There's a variety of presentations planned about product innovation, philanthropy and shelter programs, tours, a vet school visit, doggy training (gasp!) and more. I'm pretty sure I saw dinner and cocktails on the agenda more than once and a concert too.

Glogirly's invitation was a total surprise and she's thrilled to be able to take advantage of such a wonderful opportunity. The generous people at PetSafe have taken care of everything. In addition to her all-expense-paid trip, I hear she'll be coming home with STUFF. (!)

I wouldn't be surprised if there's another cool giveaway in our future!

Sunday Blues, Katie-Style

Hi everyone, Katie here.

Yesterday, Waffles had the blues... what with the Saturday Photohunt theme and all.

But today, I'VE got the blues – blue ottoman that is... and I couldn't be happier.

Those of you that have been following my life since Waffles invaded the Townhouse last November, know that everything most precious and dear to me has been viciously ripped from my grasp.  My food, my toys, my girl...

... most of all, my blue chair.

Hazel is a loyal friend and reader who follows us here and on Facebook. She's got four furries at home who will be enjoying their new toys very soon! 

Nala is queen and meows in multiple octaves. Her big secret is that she *barks*... like a doggie!

BooBoo is the teacher. He helps the kitties learn the cat ways and shows them love.

Twinkles washes Hazel's face everyday. (who needs expensive department-store cleansers?!)

Thor is a brand new rescue and just a teeny little boy.  We think he's got some growing to do before he fits into his name!

Drinks Are On Me: Pagoda Fountain Giveaway

As you know, I paid a visit to the VET yesterday. The good news is my healthy lifestyle has paid off. I've lost 10% of my body weight over the past 5 months and the VET says I'm mere ounces away from my optimum and oh-so-svelte self.

Part of my healthy lifestyle has included drinking more... water, that is. So today we're celebrating and the drinks are on me! Well, they're actually on the nice people at PetSafe, the manufacturer of my Drinkwell Pagoda Fountain.  And since today is World Cat Day...what better time meet up for a drink.




Glogirly bought my fountain earlier this year and later, had an opportunity to meet the PetSafe man at BlogPaws. She contacted him a few weeks ago and asked if he might want to give one of our GLOGIRLY readers a Pagoda Fountain of their very own!

Glogirly calls our fountain the Peacekeeper. It's the only place in the Townhouse where Waffles and I call it a truce. There's never any fighting or hissing when we belly up to the bar.

The fountain plugs into a standard electrical outlet and runs continuously, creating a very zen-like atmosphere with the sound of gentle, streaming water. Glogirly *claims* I'm kind of a skittish kitty, but from the first time she turned it on, the sound didn't scare me at all.

Glogirly cleans it once a week. That's what the fountain people recommend. It has very few pieces and is easy to take apart. She rinses the pump each time she cleans it too so that it doesn't get any hard water build up.

Belly Up To The Cat Bar

Last week our friends at Hauspanther (you know, the cool kitty site with all the hip and modern kitty gear) sent us an email about Drinkwell's brand new ceramic Pagoda Fountain. If I had a drink for every time I told Glogirly to get me a fountain...well, I'd have my own private Betty Ford suite.

But FINALLY, thanks to Hauspanther, she found just the right design.

Waffles Too immediately bellied up to the bar. It took him awhile to realize this was a DRINKING fountain, not a WADING fountain.  There were a few HBO words and a bunch of paper towels.

I approached with caution.  Had to watch my back for incoming fire. 

But guess what...We LOVE it!  No more tussles in the bathtub, fighting over the dribbling faucet. We can come and go as we please. And a certain *someone* can't sniff my tail and drink at the same time.  Glogirly says that if I drink more water I'll be healthier and it might even be easier for me to lose that last pound I'm working on.  

Still, I can think of about 7-8 pounds I'd like to shed.
