The Heat Is ON

Hi everyone, Katie here.

The Townhouse was thrown into crisis-mode over the weekend.  Or should I say the ordinarily climate-controlled meat cooler that we CALL the Townhouse was thrown into crisis-mode.

Air conditioner DOWN.

Air conditioner DOWN in the middle of a scorcher summer.

Air conditioner DOWN in the middle of a scorcher summer on a Saturday night.

You want to talk about HBO words???  The air conditioner repair plan people told Glogirly they couldn't schedule an appointment until July 16.  JULY 16.  Seriously. That's like a week and a year from now. We could all cook to death in the meantime.

Fortunately Gloman had the presence of mind to say adios to the old air conditioner repair plan people and hello to some new ones.  A nice man in a big green truck came yesterday. Twenty minutes and a MasterCard charge later, we were back in business.

I'm pretty sure Gloman hugged the air conditioner man. And Glogirly told him she loved him.

Please Vote For Us in The Petties!

We need your votes to help win $1000 for some very special shelter kitties. ...ok, and a pretty cool trophy too. Now thru July 31 you can vote once a day.

You'll recognize lots of our friends in the other categories so please give them some love too!  It's super easy and we promise it will only take a minute.

We'll remind you everyday, but we'll try to keep the begging to a minimum. And we promise to keep the fun and laughs coming. From all of us here at the Townhouse...THANK YOU!  We heart you.

  5. Good save Gloman! It's hotter than a three-balled tom cat around here with limited A/C but the ceiling fans are enough for the furries who love the heat.

  14. What is it with repair men - there's always an excuse and a sucking in of breath when they can't be bothered to try and help.

  19. Spozed to reach triple digits this week here in N Texas (and I'm not referring to polydactyl, either!). We've got 2 AC units, replaced one last year after wringing the plastic card for all it was worth...and hoping the other one lasts through this season. Glad your cool-icity is back n biz!

  20. Hooray for the new air conditioner people. When Mom was staying with her daughter last summer after their new baby was born, their air con broke down - it was terrible. Fortunately it was repaired the next day, but for a sleep deprived Mommy with a newborn it was truly the last straw. The temps were in the high 90s. Dad was visiting at the time and Mom slept over at the motel with him (no room in the condo for so many) but daughter husband and baby mistakenly toughed it out for the night, then came to the motel the next day.

We are voting daily. Except we don't know any of the dog nominees for those categories so are leaving them blank.

  35. We are glad you got your cold air box all cool again. Mom and Dad had to plunk down a gazillion squillion about a month ago on a brand new cold air box. We all meowed our approval as we are FL kitties and well we use our AC nearly year around.

  36. Craziness! Maybe you should have had Katie give them a good talking to. Glad it's fixed now.

  37. OMC! You guys could've all gone to a hotel and cooled off but it's best to get it fixed. A couple of weeks ago, TW noticed that our AC was on a LONG time and it hadn't cooled the room down. She made Pop call the repair guy and a couple of million green papers later, we had new coolant and cool air.

  38. That happened to us last year at this time! Declarations of love are not even too much!! Thanks Cod you're cool!

  47. Holy CAT! Not fun, not fun at all. Allie got overheated last summer and her nose turned bright pink, almost fuschia, and she began panting. A scary time was had by all.
Especially in this kind of heat. We'd hug the repairman too!
