Hi everyone, Katie here.
The Townhouse was thrown into crisis-mode over the weekend. Or should I say the ordinarily climate-controlled meat cooler that we CALL the Townhouse was thrown into crisis-mode.
Air conditioner DOWN.
Air conditioner DOWN in the middle of a scorcher summer.
Air conditioner DOWN in the middle of a scorcher summer on a Saturday night.
You want to talk about HBO words??? The air conditioner repair plan people told Glogirly they couldn't schedule an appointment until July 16. JULY 16. Seriously. That's like a week and a year from now. We could all cook to death in the meantime.
Fortunately Gloman had the presence of mind to say adios to the old air conditioner repair plan people and hello to some new ones. A nice man in a big green truck came yesterday. Twenty minutes and a MasterCard charge later, we were back in business.
I'm pretty sure Gloman hugged the air conditioner man. And Glogirly told him she loved him.
Please Vote For Us in The Petties!
We need your votes to help win $1000 for some very special shelter kitties. ...ok, and a pretty cool trophy too. Now thru July 31 you can vote once a day.
You'll recognize lots of our friends in the other categories so please give them some love too! It's super easy and we promise it will only take a minute.
We'll remind you everyday, but we'll try to keep the begging to a minimum. And we promise to keep the fun and laughs coming. From all of us here at the Townhouse...THANK YOU! We heart you.
Well I'm glad that the cool is back on too! Not that we have air conditioning or anything here... Sigh.
ReplyDeleteOoo Miss Katie... we're hearing some funky Ohio Players jam with that "hot" picture of you!
ReplyDeleteHarry, Dex and Tipp!
Oh boy!!! that was a nice save! Did you kitties give the air conditioner man a purr and a rub?
ReplyDeleteWhat do they say in the MasterCard commercial? Fresh and Cool kitties, Priceless? Oh yeah, that's it!
ReplyDeleteNot so priceless on Glogirly's wallet, I imagine.....
Happy Cat Family
Good save Gloman! It's hotter than a three-balled tom cat around here with limited A/C but the ceiling fans are enough for the furries who love the heat.
ReplyDeletea week and a year?! I nearly died laughing - that's so me!
ReplyDeletegah that sounds HOT! Come and lie in our fan space.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad your humans had the presence of mind to replace that AC guy. Sheesh! Kitties need to keep cool!
ReplyDeleteWe got our A/C peoples warranty plan which means they has to come the same day we calls, even weekends. So far we have been pretty happy with them. They came cleaned ours recently and the nice guy even likes cats. Not that he saw us of course.
ReplyDeleteGlad they sorted out the ac for you! Keep cool my pal
ReplyDeleteHurray for Gloman and Master Card! Happy to hear the problem is solved.
ReplyDeleteJuly 16! We think that firing the air conditioning repairman was a good move. It's good to hear that you're cool cats again.
ReplyDeleteWe don't have any air conditioning for our hots, but we do have a fan.
ReplyDeleteThe Paw Relations
What is it with repair men - there's always an excuse and a sucking in of breath when they can't be bothered to try and help.
ReplyDeleteLuv Hannah and Lucy xx xx
Thank goodness for Gloman, and those magic little plastic cards!
ReplyDeleteOMC THANK GOODNESS!!! I would have had to have jumped through the phone to STRANGLE whoever would be so dumb as to tell me it couldn't be fixed UNTIL JULY 16th?????? OMG!!!! I would DIE!
ReplyDeleteYAY for Gloman saving the day!
OMC! We're so glad your A/C is fixed now or Waffles woulda really been toast! :)
ReplyDeleteThank COD for the new air conditioner man. Y'all would have been puddles of fur if you had to wait until July 16 for cool air. Gloman saved the day. Loves to him! Purrs and hugs, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
ReplyDeleteSpozed to reach triple digits this week here in N Texas (and I'm not referring to polydactyl, either!). We've got 2 AC units, replaced one last year after wringing the plastic card for all it was worth...and hoping the other one lasts through this season. Glad your cool-icity is back n biz!
ReplyDeleteHooray for the new air conditioner people. When Mom was staying with her daughter last summer after their new baby was born, their air con broke down - it was terrible. Fortunately it was repaired the next day, but for a sleep deprived Mommy with a newborn it was truly the last straw. The temps were in the high 90s. Dad was visiting at the time and Mom slept over at the motel with him (no room in the condo for so many) but daughter husband and baby mistakenly toughed it out for the night, then came to the motel the next day.
ReplyDeleteWe are voting daily. Except we don't know any of the dog nominees for those categories so are leaving them blank.

ReplyDeleteI am glad you are cool again. We don't have air conditioning. I don't like it. It hurts my skin.
ReplyDeleteWe're glad your A/C got fixed!! We can't imagine having to wait until July 16! You would be cooked by then!
ReplyDeleteThe Florida Furkids
We are so happy your new AC man got the cool air on for you! I would be the one who melted--can't stand heat at all :(
ReplyDeleteThank Bast you got it fixed. I don't know what we'd do if our A/C broke. We'd roast to death while mom was in her nice, air conditioned office at work.
ReplyDeleteWe KNOW your pain all too well! So happy that Gloman kept a cool head on his shoulders and a packed credit card in his pocket!
ReplyDeleteChill out.
Oh, that is TERRIBLE!!! I'm so glad you were able to get it fixed. Going without A/C is horrid!
ReplyDeletePlay bows,
zim

ReplyDeleteLoved the picture of W2 and the thermometer. LOL
ReplyDeleteOh that would be waaaaaaay too long to wait!! Glad you're cool again.

We are sooo happy your a/c cooly thing is fixed! The main floor of our building was not cooled this weekend, and mommy sweated just getting her mail! Ew! So I am glad you all have your cool on, again. Now if you could just make Gloman and girl to STAY HOME and INSIDE. Humans! Always rushing off somewhere!
ReplyDeleteQUINN
I am glad you got your A/C fixed. Right now I am wishing we had it too.
ReplyDeleteYikes! Been there, done that, sweat on tee shirt!
ReplyDeleteWe are glad you got your cold air box all cool again. Mom and Dad had to plunk down a gazillion squillion about a month ago on a brand new cold air box. We all meowed our approval as we are FL kitties and well we use our AC nearly year around.
ReplyDeleteCraziness! Maybe you should have had Katie give them a good talking to. Glad it's fixed now.
ReplyDeleteOMC! You guys could've all gone to a hotel and cooled off but it's best to get it fixed. A couple of weeks ago, TW noticed that our AC was on a LONG time and it hadn't cooled the room down. She made Pop call the repair guy and a couple of million green papers later, we had new coolant and cool air.
ReplyDeleteThat happened to us last year at this time! Declarations of love are not even too much!! Thanks Cod you're cool!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you got it fixed. I had my air go down in the hot summer too. It's awful.
ReplyDeleteSue B
OMC, that sounds absolutely dreadful! We're so glad you got that fixed as soon as you did. We would've hugged that repairman, too!
ReplyDeleteOff to vote! :)
Yikes, no a/c in the hots..and on the weekend too? OMC, we is glad your Gloman gots a new a/c repairman, 'cuz we wouldn't want you too to get overheated!

LOL....HBO words! So glad that the cool is back on in the townhouse for humans and anipals alike!
ReplyDeleteGlad that Gloman had presence of mind to say ADIOS to the old air conditioner plan people :)
ReplyDeleteIt has been so ot here last weekif our air went kaflooie...we would all move to a hotel until repaired. It finally dropped for 106F to low 80s F...good job Gloman,,,keep that plastic near...paw pats, Savannah
ReplyDeleteKatie, we all know you are hot stuff!! Well you make me get all hot under the collar ;)
ReplyDeleteGlad it's sorted :)
xx
Holy CAT! Not fun, not fun at all. Allie got overheated last summer and her nose turned bright pink, almost fuschia, and she began panting. A scary time was had by all.
ReplyDeleteEspecially in this kind of heat. We'd hug the repairman too!
