Destination: V-E-T

Hi everyone, Katie here.

Seems the time has come once again for my *weigh-in* at the dreaded medical facility that shall remain nameless.  Of course Waffles thinks it's a regular party there. A vacation.

Last I remember, there were no drinks with little umbrellas, no kitty loungers lined up in the sunshine.

Just a giant scale.

I remain optimistic that although my trip will be nothing like Waffles' excursions to this same destination, I will reign victorious over the mighty scale. After all, I've been on a strict workout regime and diet ever since Orange Crush arrived nearly 8 months ago.  ...what with being chased all over the townhouse and having my food stolen right from under my nose. I'm pleased to report I'm as svelte as a ladycat a fraction of my age.

Still, he taunts me so. Just you wait, Waffles. One of these days you'll wake up to find your metabolism  has bit you in your big, fluffy you-know-what. THEN we'll see who's doing the chasing.

  4. Oh Katie,

You should steal the credit card and buy you own scale..

  5. A weigh in is not so bad! Of course it would be easier if you just had your own pink Katie scale!

Simon, one of the boys here, is also going to the VET tomorrow. His problem is the opposite of yours, and he's going in for an oral exam/dental to see if there's a hidden issue in his mouth that's causing his weight loss. It's NOT going to be pretty! The past year and a half have been really tough, and I think that we gain more warning dots on the file with each visit.

  14. I better not let my mom see this post. I go to the vet next week for my vaccine and last time I was there the vet said I was TOO FAT!
Mom thinks I haven't lost an ounce.
I don't want her to get another kitty, having a woofie is ENOUGH to put up with!
    Love, Cody

  15. Dear Katie,
This is Coco Chanel. On Friday, I was starved, then kidnapped and taken to the VET in a heat wave. No kidding, 100 degrees here in Gotham City metro area...THEN, I get there and it smells. Like tons of cats. I don't like that. I was subjected to an exam where the Dr. declared I weigh too much (uh, who are YOU?) and a blood test. Of course one of the guys wore those awful leather gloves.
After all of that, my mama left me there. They shaved my paw, I went to sleep and when I woke up I was missing three of my teeth.
I wouldn't let anyone touch me until ZGirl came to get me. Then I got into my carrier, rode in the car with my paw on her hand, and arrived in the warehouse apartment where Valentina proceeded to hiss at me for a day. I stayed nice and comfy with my mama, or in my kitty tent.
While I'm fine now, it's no walk in the park.
I hope that you at least leave with your teeth in tact.

Keep them on their toes, Katie!!!

  21. I hope everything goes well for you, Katie! I don't mind going to the vet school. I get to meet some cool people and see animals and stuff. I'm not into the "holding still" thing, but other than that, it's not too bad.

  25. You still have to go to weigh-ins? I thought last time, the scale revealed you were being UNDERfed and you should get more food. Heh heh I can't wait until W2 gets all fad and blubbery.

  26. We await anxiously the results of your weigh-in. Getting a kitten, and especially one as feisty and pesty as Waffles, certainly can result in a built-in diet and exercise program. Hope you get good news. Purrs and hugs, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

  27. When you're there... at the you-know-whatsit... come on back and visit me. I'm here waitin' for the peeps to pick me up. Still waitin'... Doctor said they'd be here in another half hour or so. I had a dental.
