Hi everyone, Katie here.
Welcome back! On Tuesday I showed you how to choose the best photos to make a simple animation. If you missed the lesson, just click HERE. Don't worry, it's SO easy, even a human can do it.
Today, I'm going to show you how to MAKE the animation with your two photos. (it's called a .GIF file)
EASY PEASEY
Here are the two photos I've chosen to use.
Now, just follow the step-by-step screens. Click to biggify if you need reading glasses.
Step 1: Go to makeagif.com and click 'Sign Up.' |
Step 2: Create an account. It's FREE. |
Step 3: Click 'Add Pictures' and select two photos from your computer to upload. |
Step 4: Watch as your photos load. |
Step 5: When you see your two photos have loaded, click 'Continue.' |
Step 6: Click to pick animation speed; the little square box will blink at each speed to help you choose.
Step 7: Click 'Create Your GIF'.
|
If you're not happy with any part of your animation, just start over with Step 3 "Add Pictures."
We've found the slower animation speeds are a little easier to look at and make for better animations.
DONE!
Me and my girl are standing by and are happy to provide technical support.
Just let us know if you need help!

We love your instructions and pointer. We have a program, does she use it? No...... Nutty
ReplyDeleteBenny & Lily
Now that is really cool. Maybe I will try it some day.
ReplyDeleteGuess what my pointer is?
ReplyDelete........
........
a drumstick!
No, not chick-hen, silly.
A REAL rockstar drumstick!
That is WAY easier than what my human does. Of course, she does everything the hard way.
ReplyDeleteMaybe I will try it some day :))
ReplyDeleteThank goodness you're standing by with technical support. If I can get my peep to do one of these... she's gonna need help. Not 'cause it's difficult or anything. Just 'cause she's a peep. A peep who knows didily-squat 'bout computers.
ReplyDeleteYou is such a smart GloCat! We will have to try this sometime soon!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the tutorial Katie, that looks super easy, we will try it soon!!!
ReplyDeleteWow - M said we'll have to try that sometime. We have so much to learn yet and just keep running out of time every day.
ReplyDeleteThanks Katie/Glowgrly!
ReplyDeleteMe is going to has to get Mommy to try this! If she ever stops doing all the things she does.
Kisses
Nellie
Am going to have to try this!!! Will bookmark page and hopefully the result will be appearing on a blog near you soon :))
ReplyDeleteThanks Katie ... Oh and you can give a nod to Glogirly too for her assistance ;)
That really is very cool Katie!
ReplyDeleteExcellent directions! We did it! You are great to be so generous with your knowledge. We have a few observations/questions.
ReplyDeleteOne, we blog in WordPress. We've posted the gif as a "draft" and it looks great. But when we wanted to "preview" the draft, the picture didn't move. We've noticed this phenomenon with other gifs. Sometimes they move, sometimes they don't. Any clue what's up?
Two, the site kept folding on us. We'd download, and the site would take one pic but not both, or it would freeze up on the other steps -- quite annoying. We stuck with it til the end because we love knowing how to do this -- but it took a way long time.
Aaaaanyways -- none of this detracts from how happy we are you shared! You guys are great!
Whoa! That was easy for me but I'm not sure TW got it. HAH! So YOU use a cheat program too. I never would've guessed. Tomorrow I'll expect to see these moving things on everyone's blog or I'll be disappointed.
ReplyDeleteWow, thanks for all those great instructions. That was great. We will have to give it a try. Take care.
ReplyDeleteWow... From now on, we are going to animate everything!! Even stuff that should not be animated, just because it is so cool!!! Thank you for sharing this information, Katie and Glogirly, it really was very sweet of you!!
ReplyDeleteYeowl we can't wait to get started.
ReplyDeleteUH OH .... Mom's got that weird look in her eyes. WE think she is gonna experiment with us.
Thanks GloGirl and Katie.

You are so awesome!
ReplyDeleteVery cool! We're gonna have our mom try that!!
ReplyDeleteYou missed your calling. Maybe you should have been a teacher. We will have to go through our pix and see what we can do this weekend. Thanks for sharing! We hope there are some other cute tricks you can teach us.
ReplyDeleteWow! At first I had to force my Human to read this (her eyes glazed over when she saw the title (and somehow we missed Part I) but once she read it, she thought, well, maybe we could do this. But it will probably have to wait till the end of the school year.
ReplyDeleteShe thinks you would be a good teacher, Katie.
thank you sweet Katie. xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteSo easy even a human can do it and she did! She is soooo technically challenged I didn't think she could follow instructions and we have a MAC too.
ReplyDeletexoxoxox Fanks you .xox

The Bean did it. Frankly, I didn't believe she could -- but now she has, I just don't see what the fuss is about. I'm really having trouble staying awake. Watch me: http://catself.wordpress.com/2012/04/29/a-fascinating-topic-2/
ReplyDeleteHey Deb -- what about publishing some links to everybody who followed your excellent guidance? I just had a look at Austin's, over at CATachresis, and about died. It is fabulous! Would love to see more!
ReplyDeleteHi! Just came over to your blog from Oskar's blog. Was curious about the tutorial on how to make a gif. It sounds so easy. Thanks so much for showing us how to do that computer magic. We can't wait to read more about your blog -- you sound so cool for a cat.
