Dear Glogirly,

Hi everyone, Katie here.

Excuse me for a moment while I address my girl.

Dear Glogirly,

You've only been gone one day and I can already see my reflection in my food dish. Not good. I'm going to have to employ my charms with Gloman in order to keep my dish full and my tummy satisfied. I'm coming when he calls, I'm sticking to your side of the bed. Short of wearing a dog-suit, I'm not quite sure what else I can do to win him over. Any advice you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Concerned,
Katie
(your cat)

Friends, I will keep you apprised of my situation.

  1. Oh Katie...our hearts are with you!! Our Mom went away for 10 days (10 very long unbearable days) not long ago and it was pure torture!! We had our Dad, but he just is NOT Mom!! We are sending you lots of purrs and courage to make it through this time without your Mom. Your pals, Lautrec and Tiny (Weezdabadcats)

  3. The thing about male humans, you cannot be subtle. Don't hint around or bother being polite. Demand more food in no uncertain terms! I poke my human when I want something from her. In spite of what you may have heard, poking is not bad manners if it's a cat doing it to a human. So you might try that tactic.

  4. Yikes! You can see the bottom of the food bowl? Oh, Katie, that's so scary. We're sending good vibes to you during this awful time!

  5. When we get near the bottom of the food bowl Tamir will howl as loud as he can when somebuddy comes in the kitchen...maybe that will work for you?

  6. Life is twice as hard for you. No Glogirl and no food. Have you tried bringing beer when he is watching sports on tv?

  7. Male 'rents - you cannot be subtle with them, they don't "read" us as well!

  10. Oh poor Katie. i'll share my kibble with you. Or, maybe you should just move in wiht me while Glogirly is gone. Yah - dat's a better plan.

  11. Poor Katie! Maybe you should just scream at him and don't stop until he fills your bowl!

  12. This is just no good at all Katie...doesn't he know that the bottom of the dish must never be seen?

  13. Katie, this is outrageous! An absent Mom and the insult of a half empty fuud bowl. Shocking. Do you have a lawyer?

Handy Tip: Dog loving men cannot resist a cat who deigns to fetch a toy that has been tossed about the floor. If you can swallow your pride and only indulge in this degrading game of fetch when no one else is watching, I am sure Gloman will ensure your dish remains full.

If you are unable to stoop this low (and I can't say I could do it) perhaps a hair ball yacked up prettily upon Gloman's pillow or in his slippers may mend his shoddy ways.

Best of luck Katie (you need it)

  14. Katie, we're with Sparkle on this one. You cannot be subtle with Gloman. Demand that your food bowl be kept filled and that he pay lots of attention to you!

  15. It's very important to have the Mom around. Usually, she's the only one who can do things properly.

  17. Oh Katie, you poor thing. Hope you can get through to the man person there at your house. That is a good picture of your face in the bottom of the bowl. That is so sad. Take care and I hope things get better for you.

  19. Seeing your reflection in your food dish is terrible! GloMan had BETTER redeem himself furry quick, otherwise we believe GloGirly will come home to just you! But we think you (secretly) would love that! MOL!

  20. We suggest you mew mew mew as cutely as you can to get Gloman's attention. Failing that, try some long-winded howling.
Good Luck! We miss our Mommy when she goes away, too. Not that we would EVER let on!

  21. HI Katie

I know...I know...I've been left with the Dad too, and it definitely wasn't anywhere near the same.

    *sigh*

    I feel for you.

  24. Oh Dear! The dreaded reflection in the bottom of the food bowl!

  25. Hmmmmm yes, I can see how this could become a problem. But remember Katie, all your friends have food and any of us would gladly share with you.

  26. Oh dear. Yes, it's not good at all when you can see yourself in the bottom of the bowl. Keep working on Gloman, Katie ... we know you can work your magic on him!

  27. Uh-oh, my Mom never lets any of my dishes get that empty. Well, she only puts a little at a time in my Stinky Goodness dishes, but they are never that empty. You should try what I do and make a complaining meow and rub up against his ankles when the food situation is not to your liking. It works for me.

  28. Uh oh. We feel for you. I know it is not fun to have your human away. We are glad you still have Gloman though. And your supeh mousie. They'll keep you entertained.

  29. Katie,
No matter how well Gloman takes care of you, when Glogirly returns from her trip, I think you should act like you haven't eaten for days. That is sure to keep him on his toes and will probably get you some extra treats from Glogirly too.

  30. Yes drastic actions are always in order and you have to speak to the ones or one in charge immediately. I don't know if there are self feeders for Salmon but they should invent one.
