The Wizard of Oz, Cat Edition #CaturdayMovies

WAFFLES:  Hey Boss? Are we off to see the wizard guy?

KATIE:  Only if you can follow the yellow brick road.

WAFFLES:  I don't know where that is. Should we stop and ask for directions?

KATIE:  Can't you just google-map it?

WAFFLES:  Can't you just click your heels?

KATIE:  Waffles, that only works in the movies.

BAGHERRA (right):  Better check for road construction and flying monkey delays or we'll never get there.

Weeeeeeeeee're... ♩
off to see the wizard,
the Wonderful Wizard of CATS.

We hear he is a wiz of a cat,
if ever a wiz there was.

If ever, oh ever a wiz there was,
the Wizard of Cats is one because,

Because, because, because, because, BECAUSE!!!!

WAFFLES:  Uh... because what?

P.S.  In case you're wondering where the Scarecrow is... he's off somewhere with Mrs. King. He would have been here, but he's only got half a brain.

Bagherra's photos by Maggie Swanson, Sundays at the Shelter
Today's Cameo Cat: Bagherra

Handsome Bagheera spent quite a bit of time laying low at the shelter the first few weeks after he was left at PAWS by his owners. But after a while he got used to the new sounds, smells, feline roommates, and people.

When he emerged from his carpeted cubby the shelter volunteers discovered he’s a shy but VERY friendly boy who craves attention, affection and love.
Bagheera has such interesting fur with subtle stripes on his legs and a white undercoat. He is just three years old and would be perfect in a quiet loving home with other cats.

Bagherra is waiting patiently for you at PAWS, Pet Animal Welfare Society in Norwalk, CT.

Yesterday was something very special.
Did you miss it?
Yesterday was National Feral Cat Day. Katie and Waffles had a very important conversation about feral cats, gratitude and helping others. We shared a fundraiser and giveaway that's very special to us.

If you have a few minutes, we'd love to share our story –

Breakfast At Waffles' #CaturdayMovies

WAFFLES:  Hey Boss! Did you know they made a movie about my breakfast?

KATIE:  Waffles, you do know the star of that movie was a GIRL, don't you? A very glamorous girl. Who made big sunglasses and diamonds all the rage.

WAFFLES:  All the what?

SOPHIE: So, where's the breakfast? It was that orange cat, wasn't it? Never trust a cat in sunglasses.

Today's Cameo Cat: Sophie

Sophie is a beautiful tabby girl with pretty orange accents. We think that makes her a "Torbie." Sweet, quiet and friendly, this beautiful girl is eight years old. Her cage card reads, "released by her owners." That just breaks our hearts.

We can't understand how after eight years, or eight hours for that matter, anyone could surrender their cat to a shelter. Our pets are part of our families. Adoption is for life. We can't imagine what Sophie must have thought happened.

We are hoping and praying that someone will come along who has room in their forever heart and their forever home for sweet Sophie.

Sophie is waiting patiently for you at PAWS, Pet Animal Welfare Society in Norwalk, CT.

Flying Waffles #SundaySelfies

WAFFLES:  I can FLY! I can FLY!

KATIE:  Waffles, you are just not right in the head.

WAFFLES:  Again! Again! Boss, you should try it! Everything looks so–

KATIE:  –upside down?  No thank you.

WAFFLES:  Weeeee! Fasten your seats belts and return your food dishes to their upright positions!

About Today's Photos
Waffles is really just a little kid in orange striped fur. One of his favorite things is to have Gloman hold him in upside down like in that top photo. He chortles and reaches his paws out. It reminds Gloman of Gabe when he was a little boy. Gloman would do the same thing and Gabe would giggle until he could barely breathe. "Again! Again!" he'd yell.

Whether he's on the top of the tallest cat tower, peeking out from under the sofa, or flying upside down in Gloman's arms... Waffles loves seeing the world from every angle.

Katie? She likes to keep her paws firmly on the floor.

Casablanca Cats #CaturdayMovies

WAFFLES:  Hey Boss, I think this is the beginning of a beautiful–

KATIE:  –case of mancat cooties! What are you doing, Waffles???

WAFFLES:  I'm doing my Humphrey Go-Cart impression.

KATIE:  *sigh*

WAFFLES:  Of all the milk joints in the world Boss, you walk into mine.

KATIE:  You took the words right out of my mouth, Waffles. Oh, and good luck with that lactose intolerance of yours.

WAFFLES:  Lack toes? One, two, three, four... I'm not missing any toes, Boss.

KATIE:  You meet all kinds here.

HALO (left):  Buy me a drink, handsome?

Today's Cameo Cat: Halo
Beautiful tabby Halo has had a hard knock life in her three short years. If you meet her, she’ll tell you all about it. She loves to talk! First there was life with a hoarder. Then there was a very bad flea infestation (don’t worry, her coat is coming back beautifully). Halo’s luck turned from bad to good when she was brought to PAWS.

Halo would love to be your one and only. She doesn't much like other cats... who can blame her considering all she's been through. Some of the cats at PAWS are caged because they really don't like other felines. Beautiful Halo is one of these. And who can blame her considering all she's been through.

When it's her time to come out of the cage, she leaps straight to the top of the cat tree where the fleece pad is soft and the view is nice. She's ready and waiting for you at PAWS, Pet Animal Welfare Society in Norwalk, CT.

An AmeriCAT in Paris #CaturdayMovies

WAFFLES:  Bone Jour, ladies. I'm practicing my French stuff today.

KATIE:  Waffles, you're touching me. No touching, remember?

WAFFLES:  But Boss, I'm practicing my French stuff. You know, romantic stuff. For the ladies.

KATIE:  Waffles, I never said you could practice on me. Besides, you do know you're not French, right?

WAFFLES:  But what about my hat?

KATIE:  A hat doesn't make you French, Waffles.

WAFFLES:  What about the wine? And the Cheetos?

KATIE:  You mean cheese?

WAFFLES: See? Cheese is romantic, right?

KATIE:  Waffles, you need to go practice this romantic stuff on someone else. Now say goodbye and leave.

WAFFLES:  We'll always have Paris, Boss.

KATIE:  Wrong movie, Waffles.

PARIS the Cat: Of all the cat joints in the world, I have to walk into THIS one.  What? Still the wrong movie???

Meow Like a Pirate Day with Cats of the Caribbean

WAFFLES:  Hey Boss! Who turned out me lights???

KATIE:  Do you suppose it's got something to do with that eye patch of yours?

WAFFLES:  Yeah but me ladies think I look hot in me eyepatch.

KATIE:  Anything for fashion.

WAFFLES:  Uh, Boss... speaking of fashion, I think your beard is crooked.

KATIE:  Waffles, if you're trying to impress the ladies, pirates or no pirates, it's best to steer clear of any beard comments.

WAFFLES:  What about beard beads? Can I tell you your beard beads crooked? Because they're crooked.

COOKIE:  I don't know about you, but the one with the big hat and beard beads kind of shivers me timbers.

Happy International Meow Like a Pirate Day!

Today's Cameo Cat

I Love Waffles' Chicken Assembly Line #TVTripCaturday

WAFFLES:  Faster, Boss! Faster!

KATIE:  Waffles, you're supposed to wrap the drumsticks, not eat them.

WAFFLES: Wrap them? How am I supposed to wrap them? I'm busy.

KATIE:  Maybe if you stop eating and start wrapping???

WAFFLES:  But what about quality control and stuff?

Quality Control Team
left to right:  Cali, Bell, Crawdad

CALI:  So where's all the drumsticks?

CRAWDAD: Employee #709857 is clearly not working out.

BELL:  You mean that orange Waffles-something cat?

CRAWDAD:  Chicken and Waffles. A dangerous combo.

BELL (middle): Sounds like a happy meal to me.

WAFFLES:  Did someone say Happy Meal???

Today's Cameo Cats
Today's Cameo Cats are Bell, Crawdad and Cali. Cali is an energetic two-year-old mom kitty that recently retired from the kitten producing biz. She's practically a kitten herself!

Crawdad is a handsome tuxie, just under two years old. He's gentle, friendly and gets along with everyone. ...and he's got just about the cutest pink nose we've seen.

Beautiful green-eyed Bell is a lovely four year old tortie. She's got a sweet disposition and not an ounce of tortie attitude.

All three of these sweet cats are fully vetted, ready to shower you with love and available for adoption at PAWS Pet Animal Welfare Society in Norwalk, CT.

KATIE:  Waffles, we only need one Dunk Dunk, ok?

WAFFLES:  But it's so fun to say, Boss!  Dunk Dunk!  Dunk Dunk!

KATIE: Waffles, we need to protect and serve. Not Dunk Dunk.

WAFFLES:  Wooo-Wooo! Dunk Dunk! Wooo-Wooo!

KATIE:  Waffles–

WAFFLES:  I'm protecting and serving, Boss! Just like you told me. Oh wait... I forgot to ask. Are we serving chicken?

Glogirly's Angels & Adoptions #TVTripCaturday

WAFFLES:  Hey Boss, I think our dinner might be overdone tonight, what with all the fireballs and explosions and stuff.

KATIE:  Waffles, are you not capable of thinking about anything other than food?

WAFLES:  Um, what kind of food?

KATIE:  *sigh*

WAFFLES:  Hello, Glogirly? Is that you? Did you know that our dinner exploded?

We're going to need more dinner. And wigs. Jack-O-Lynn Smith here needs a wig.

CHARLOTTE (right):  Charlotte. My name is Charlotte. And thanks, but no thanks on the wig. I'm good.

Today's Cameo Cat

Mr. Ed Didn't See THIS Coming #TVTripCaturday

♫♩
A cat is a cat, and that's a fact.

And no one can talk to a cat in fact.

That is, in fact unless the cat is the famous Mister Waff.
♫♩

SCRATCHY (left):  I'M not going to talk to him, are YOU going to talk to him?

KATIE:  Are you kidding? I'M not going to talk to him.

SCRATCHY (left):  Well is he just going to keep singing that song over and over?

KATIE:  Yeah, pretty much.

Today's Cameo Cat
Today's Cameo Cat is Scratchy. He's a 10 year old and VERY handsome boy. His shelter friends think he needs a new name. We think he kind of looks like a Fritzie or maybe a Scrappy.

He's incredibly friendly and loves kisses on his head. Scratch is fully vetted and just wants the simple things in life–  a forever home to call his own and someone to love.

Scratchy is available for adoption at PAWS.

This Just In! Scratchy is a GIRL!!! ...oops!

WAFFLES:  No... WHO's the Boss.

KATIE:  I said–  I'M the Boss.

WAFFLES:  Huh uuuh. WHO's the Boss.

KATIE:  Waffles, I'm not playing 'Who's on First' with you. Just forget about it.

WAFFLES: You mean Who's on first TOO?  I thought Who's the Boss.

SHIPPAN (right): Nevermind who's the boss? Who are these CATS???

Today's Cameo Cat
