Hi everyone, Katie here.
While the rest of the world mourns the loss of the Hostess Twinkie and it's cream filling, we're all celebrating Little Debbie. In fact we're thinking of starting a petition to rename the beloved snack cakes 'Little Glogirly.' Long live the Swiss Cake Rolls, Cod bless our Nutty Bars and mitts off our Honey Buns!
Oh Twinkies, we hardly knew ye.
RIP little trans-fat-filled sponge cakes.
* * *
Guess what!?! Marg is hosting an auction for our friends at Random Felines. Be sure to check out all the awesome items at Furriends Of The CB. Word is there's even something from GLOGIRLY DESIGN you can bid on!
Little Glogirlies... Sounds like a plan! purrs
ReplyDeleteTwo words: twinkie juice.
ReplyDeleteThat's the suspicious ingredient that allows them to have a shelf life of 7.2 years and a landfill half-life of 3,953,015 years.
Twinkie juice.
Oh, but our mom'll see your Honey Buns and raise you Ding Dongs any day of the week (did we mention she's just a little but addicted to chocolate...?).
She's thinking of getting a black armband over those little chocolate cupcakes with the white tinkie juice filling.
BIT!BIT! oh those freudian typos, MOL. And now she's rethinking the cupcake thing (Goes straight to the typo, yanno)
ReplyDeleteI'm not a huge fan of those snacks thankfully. I do like the oatmeal creme pies though mmmm. My boyfriend loves swiss cake rolls and nutty bars.
ReplyDeleteHmmm, maybe they should sell Waffles.....
ReplyDeleteOur Mommy can't believe the hoopla surrounding the Twinkie demise! Almost as much as a Waffle sighting. MOL!
ReplyDeleteOur mommy says she hasn't eaten a Twinkie in years, but she did want to try the chocolate ones...
ReplyDeletePurrs,
Carmine and Milita
They won't be making them anymore, but I'm positive there will be actual Twinkies around for a few hundred years.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to see Waffles' HEAD in profile, please! (All part of my investigation).
Twinkie, good-bye to you, Ding Dong's too
ReplyDeleteTastykake is where it's at. Tandykakes are an awesome snack. Try Krimpets in butterscotch and jelly, they're a treat for any belly. Of Philly and New Jersey fame, that's how Chris Christy came by his frame.
Yeah, that's terrible but the huMom still loves those Butterscotch Krimpets and those Peanutbutter Tandykakes. They'll always be the best dessert following a cheesesteak. If Hostess had gotten Katie and Waffles to do their advertisements maybe they'd still be going strong. Love today's post.
Purrs to you,
Mistletoe & Hitch
Mom never really liked Twinkies anyway. But the Hostess cupcakes she has always enjoyed.
ReplyDeleteNow is that the first picture of Waffles in anything other than a frontal pose?
Meh. None of this stuff appeals to my human. She's a downright snob when it comes to treats - she prefers the red velvet cupcakes from our local trendy eatery to anything off a store shelf.
ReplyDeleteMe? I just want some KFC.
We're not going to miss them either. Our mommy stays away from that stuff. But it's sad to see an American icon die ...
ReplyDeleteThe mom wasn't a Twinkie fan, but she loved the Suzy Qs. As a kid, she thought they named it after her. :)
ReplyDeleteThe mom just heard a report this morning that Twinkies may be saved!
Benny will mourn the death of the Twinkie. . .
ReplyDeleteThe peeps say Hostess is ghetto sweets. Give them Godiva or Krause when they want to get down with the sweets. Anyway, while in Pathmark, TW snatched up the only package of Hostess left on the shelves and they were her faves Suzy Q. OMC! No more Sno Balls with the elastic coating! Gotta love that lard filling in the Hostess cakes. And, yeah, TastyKakes have it all over them.
ReplyDeleteWe think the worlds at its mind
ReplyDeleteBenny & Lily

ReplyDeleteOoohhhhhh I need a minute... my knees just went weak..
Our Mom always wanted to try fried twinkies....guess she'll never have that chance now.
ReplyDeleteThe Florida Furkids

I don't think I've ever had a twinkie!! Austin is grossed out at the thought!! But we will take your word for it ;)
ReplyDeleteI have never tasted a Twinkie and neitehr has my mom-person and now you are telling us we never will be able to taste one either ??!!
ReplyDeleteyum yum yum~~
ReplyDeleteMind if I eat one? M says she loves them, but only has one about two times a year. But they are tasty. Of course she never shares them with me!
ReplyDeleteWeird things, twinkies. But I kind of like them

Well, Twinkie lovers need not despair (nor pay $300 on eBay, MOL!) Looks like one way or another, the Hostess brand will live on...Or we could just have some Waffles.
ReplyDeleteWe're with you - we love Little Debbie's. But, Mama loves Ding Dongs, crumb cakes, and their wheat bread.
