Today I'm giving you an animated glimpse into one of my most impressive talents.
I call it, 'Giving Them The Ears.' It's a technique I've worked hard. Daily practice is key.
Glogirly tries to pick me up? Give her The Ears.
Glogirly pets me while I'm sitting with Gloman? Give her The Ears.
Glogirly calls my name when I want to be left alone? Give her The Ears.
UPS man? Fed Ex man? Pizza Delivery man? Give em' all The Ears.
Messing With Glogirly
I love using my ears to mess with Glogirly.
In fact, I have her convinced that I prefer Gloman over her.
Scene: Living room.
Glogirly & Gloman seated on sofa watching CNN.
Katie sitting peacefully in blue chair across from sofa.
Gloman: "Hi Katie! Watcha doin'?"
Katie: Looks at Gloman. Ears pop up.
Glogirly: "Hi Katie! Watcha doin'?"
Katie: Glares at Glogirly. Gives her The Ears.
Gloman, ears up.
Glogirly, ears down.
Gloman, ears up.
Glogirly, ears down.
And so on.
Glogirly sighs and shakes her head.
Gloman laughs and shakes his head.
And so on.
Score 1 for Katie in another game of The Ears VS. Glogirly.
You have very expressive ears. What kind of ears did you give when you guessed where I was?!
ReplyDeleteHaHaMeow! Princeton is excellent at this. He can FOLD his ears and they haf tufts on the tip-top! He means business when he gives the ears!

ReplyDeleteIt's not a proper day around here unless my human gets The Ears from me!
ReplyDeleteWhen I put my ears down like that my Mommeh says "Uh oh, Daisy has her hat on!"
ReplyDeleteWe like working the ears too, Katie...they can say so much.

ReplyDeleteOh the EARS! The unkindest cut of all. Austin is so good at it too. Must be a tuxie thing. when my brother visits, Austin runs to greet him, tail up arched back all lovey dovey. When I return from being out, all I get, if I'm lucky, is a half open eye!

ReplyDeleteWhat a great post! We don't give anybody the ears..well, maybe except during time for ear drops or something, then Mom Julie gets the ears with a vengeance! Otherwise, we're good. We know which side our ears are buttered on!
ReplyDeleteThanks to you, Katie and Glogirly Debbie for your kinds words for Trapper. We miss him terribly. We were so blessed to have had him in our lives. xx

I too have perfected the fine art of ear communication. Usually I combine the ear messages with "THE LOOK"....almost closed to slits eyes kind of go with the ears down thing (for me anyway). Who says cats can't talk...??
ReplyDeleteKitty Hugs
Sammy
MOL! That sounds like such a fun game to play!
ReplyDeleteYou gave our human a good laugh, thanks, Katie! We give the human the ears too, but more often it's the "if looks could kill" expression. :-P

ReplyDeleteThat is terrific Katie on how you move your ears. Up and down, Up and down. Well done. Hope all of you have a great day.
ReplyDeleteAllie: oooh Katie! I feel like your my long-lost sister! I do the very same thing with my Dad - *he's* my exclusive human, not Mother. She's okay sometimes, on *my* terms, but really. I'm a "daddy's girl" all the way!
ReplyDeleteMom calls this airplane ears on us - some of us can make one ear move in one direction and the other in a different directions. Perhpas we need to video this???
ReplyDeleteCats of wildcat woods
