SureFunny Guest Blog

Hi everyone, Katie here.

The fine cats over at What's New Pussycat?, the UK blog sponsored by SureFlap, invited me to be a guest blogger for them.  Obviously I put Glogirly right on it.

If you're wondering what SureFlap is, it's that kitty pet door thing that opens only for pets with a matching microchip imbedded in them.  You can read all about it HERE on their blog.  I have to admit, I'm liking the idea of keeping intruders out.  I just have a few questions.
  1. Can it keep out the cat sitter, the UPS man and the neighbor that smells of DOG?
  2. What if I just want to be alone.  Can I keep out Glogirly and Gloman?
  3. How attracting desirable intruders?  Say, a squirrel or rabbit?

You can read my guest blog over at the What's New Pussycat? blog by clicking HERE.  I've written an account of a harrowing incident that occurred right here in the townhouse.  I wrote about it long ago, when I had about two furriends following my blog.  So I had my girl dust it off (literally) and send it to SureFlap.

IT'S CALLED -

Kitties, I must warn you.  It contains graphic images and language that may not be suitable for young kittens.

  2. Katie, what privations you had to suffer. My heart goes out to you!!! I mean how could Gloman laugh inappropriately like that. It should have been appropriate laughter at the very least *sniggers behind hand, appropriately*

    Very VERY funny post :D

Austin still won't use his catflap, though Tigger does, but he is getting too fat!!

  4. You only have one litter box in a multi-lvel townhouse? That's unethical! I have 2 and we only have 1100 sq ft.

  7. Iiieeee! Into you litter box!!!
Regarding the Sure Flap, we suggest you embed chips into Glogirly & Gloman so you can program when you want the flap to keep them in ans when you want to deny entrance. The world then is in your own little paw!

  15. Hi Katie, nice to meet you. First off we want to apologize for our human who is laughing hysterically after reading about your ordeal. We kitties under your dilemma completely and hope the trauma and subsequent nightmares about the incident have passed. We also assume the offending shower caddy has been removed.

We like the idea of the Sure Flap. On question #3, do you suppose we could get extra chips to imbed in mice?

  17. We are so sorry for laughing, Katie. That was just about the funniest cat and litter box adventure we've ever read. We are thankful you weren't in the litter box when the caddy came crashing down, though.

  22. I feel so privileged to be here!!!
Thank you so so very much for your visit!! Thank you for your follow to!!!! We have just one old very very old very very LOVED cat. Her name is Happy and for the 14 and a half years she has lived with us she has been very happy. She just showed up one day and said she was going to live with us and of course she was invited in. We took her to the vets and the vet said she was 5 to 7 years old and she was spayed but that she had had a bunch of kittens in her day! So that makes her 19 to 21 years old and she is still happy with her decision!!!!

  23. This takes cat flaps to another level of safety but still too risky for most Americans. Makes for a funny story though...
