WAFFLES:  Hey Boss! What are you looking at?

KATIE:  I'm not really looking. I'm just thinking.

WAFFLES:  What are you thinking about? Chicken?

KATIE:  No, Waffles. There's more to life than just chicken, you know.

WAFFLES:  Turkey? Tuna? 

KATIE:  NO, Waffles. We're just very lucky. 

WAFFLES:  You've GOT to be talking about chicken!

KATIE:  We're the lucky cats, Waffles. Somehow, we were chosen. With me it was Gloman. And with you it was Glogirly. They chose us. They didn't even know us, but they loved us from the very first moment they saw us. We're the lucky cats, Waffles. We have a safe home where there's always breakfast and dinner and treats and toys. We have a family. 

WAFFLES:  Doesn't everycat have that?

KATIE:  No Waffles. Not even close.

WAFFLES:  What can we do? We're just a couple of cats. Pretty small cats. How can we ever do anything big enough to help all those cats?

KATIE:  Well, small is ok. Because lots of smalls can make something BIG.

Shelter Cats WIN & Waffles Needs a Math Lesson

KATIE:  Ok, Waffles... we need to figure out the results of our Happy Birthday Comment-A-Thon so that we know how many green papers to give to the shelter cats at Feline Rescue. I've got all the math calculations laid out here. I just want to check my work. Do you have the calculator ready?

WAFFLES:  Yeah, Boss. Ready.

KATIE:  Good. Now don't screw this up. It's important.

WAFFLES:  Important, Boss. Got it. Important.

KATIE:  So if  x + y = z,  and  1 + 2 = 3,

WAFFLES:  Boss, I got this.

KATIE:  I don't know, Waffles.... are you sure???  I don't want any fuzzy math.

WAFFLES:  I GOT this, Boss!

KATIE:  Okay, if you say so.

WAFFLES:  500 CHICKENS!  

KATIE:  Not CHICKENS, Waffles! DOLLARS!  

WAFFLES:  500 dollars???

KATIE:  That's right Waffles, $500.00.  Glogirly had a surprise up her sleeve. You see, she wanted to share some of the prize money that we won in the mike's® HARDER design contest recently. So we're taking our comment-a-thon donation and adding a little something extra.  

WAFFLES:  COOL! I like this kind of math!  

KATIE:  If it weren't for our awesome friends and readers, we would have never won that contest.

WAFFLES:  But what about the chicken? Can we still give the shelter cats some chicken?

KATIE:  Ok, Waffles. I think we can round up a case or two of chicken cat food. We'll make sure the shelter kitties know it's from you.

WAFFLES:  BOSS! That's not nice! I'm not a mor–

KATIE:  Settle down, Waffles. An oxymoron is just a figure of speech. You know, where you take two words that look like they'd be contradictory and stick them together in a sentence. For example, "That's a FINE MESS you've gotten yourself into."

WAFFLES:  What do you mean?  I didn't make a mess. Yet. Today.

KATIE:  And Badcat. That's an oxymoron too.

WAFFLES:  Oh yeah, because cats are good, right? Ok, I think I got this. So the oxymorman–

KATIE:  You mean oxymoron.

WAFFLES:  So Glogirly's birthday is an oxymoron on account of her name is GloGIRLY, but she's really OLD.

KATIE:  Waffles, that's the kind of oxymoron that's REALLY going to get you into that fine mess I was telling you about. Why don't we just wish Glogirly a Happy Birthday before it's too late.

WAFFLES:  You mean before she's even OLDER?
