The Carpet's Always Greener on the Other Side of the Door #SundaySelfies

KATIE:  Waffles, did YOU shut this door? Tell me you didn't shut this door. Because if you DID shut this door, how do we know if anyone will ever know we're in here?

WAFFLES:  Glogirly! The Boss is freaking out again.

KATIE:  I'm NOT freaking out, Waffles. I am merely expressing my dissatisfaction over the closing of the DOOR.

WAFFLES:  But Boss, when you're on the other side of the door, you want to be on this side of the door and when you're on this side of the door you want to be on the other side of the door.

KATIE:  And your point is? Waffles, this is basic common cat sense. Doors are meant to be open. At. All. Times.

About Today's Photos
It's true, Katie is more than a little concerned over the closing of the doors lately. Many of our friends and readers were shocked over our Behind Closed Door post last week and the apparent role reversal of Katie and Waffles. Given Waffles' known obsession with locking himself in bathrooms and bedrooms, you'd expect him to be the one pawing at the door and playing the boingy thing.

But ever since the construction and repairs started up in the Townhouse, it's Katie who most wants to be part of the action. The same room she sleeps in at night and naps in during the day becomes a virtual prison once the door shuts.

Meanwhile, door shut or open, Waffles is perfectly content to lay around in bed. Good thing he hasn't figured out how to call for room service.

  1. That is so funny. Although the Farm cats are the same way about a closed door. Sherpa will just hop on the half wall and then up on the big wall and look over to see what's going on....yurtlife

  2. Room service...yeah that could be bad, especially when y'all are on a road trip. We do feel your pain, Katie. That is why Mom spends the entire day opening and closing the door to the catio. We are never on the side we want! And we are too lazy to go upstairs and come in the cat door. MOL. Thanks for being faithful supporters of our blog hop. 9. Aw Katie your belly is so cute! Callie doesn't seem to mind closed doors too much... unless she gets stuck in a room somehow for longer than she wants to be in there.

  11. My cat Cornelius is the same way. He will sit at a closed door and meow and meow until I open it.

  16. Katie, I'm with you...the only good door is an open one. Though I've been known to shut my self in a few rooms more than once. ~Ernie

  17. This is so funny. Our previous dog used to go into the bathroom and close the door behind him. Sometimes he would then take a nap. We used to joke that he was giving himself a time out from the cats.
