Flirting with my Wand Toy #TuxieTuesday

KATIE:  Why hello my little Neko fly. It's been a long time.

KATIE:  You've had quite a love affair with a certain orange cat.

KATIE:  Don't you think it's about time you went a little tuxie???

KATIE:  It's going to take me a long time to get the taste of orange off this thing.

KATIE:  A LONG time.

WAFFLES:  Wait. What? Orange???

About Today's Photos

Today's photos are very special to us. It was just an ordinary Sunday, day before yesterday. Waffles was begging Glogirly to play with his Neko fly and Katie was lounging in a sun spot. When all of a sudden, Katie joined in and started playing with the wand toy too. She was jumping, twirling and her favorite... grabbing at the toy through the staircase railing.

So what made all this so special?

Ever since we started treating Katie for IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disorder) and feeding her a whole food diet, she's become so much more relaxed, affectionate and even playful. It's wonderful to see her feeling so good. And what's more, Waffles is learning respect. When it comes to play, that is. He's holding back, watching Katie when it's her turn, until he gets a signal that it's his turn.  Oh, he wants to dive in and steal the toy, but he's been showing remarkable restraint. ... most of the time.

Do your cats take turns when playing? Or is it every kitty for themselves? ; )

  4. Katie, you were doing the head tilt! I love that you are feeling so much better - and that Waffles is more well-behaved. Too bad Binga can't take some lessons.

  5. Summer is right, you're totally working it with the head tilt, Katie. Ashton uses that move to out-cute the rest of us. It's great to hear you're feeling so much better. Around here, it's everykitty for themselves at playtime, which usually means Ashton retreats and Newton takes over. It must be an orange cat thing.

  9. Ichiro has always let me play but I think it's because I start in when he gets tired. It would never work to let me play first!

  10. Little Violet is very playful and she usually jumps in, even when I'm trying to play with Hansi. But when he does play look out! He shoots through the cat tunnel like a torpedo -- you better get out of the way!

  14. I am so glad Katie is feeling so much better. With one young whippsnapper (Annabelle) and three old geezers you can guess the level of play is 1 to 3! MOL

  17. There are cats that take turns?!?!?! Huh, I wouldn't know what that looks like since none of my 4 know how to share anything except the water bowl. Even that can get a little dicey. :)

PS - LOVE the head tilt, Katie. I'm so glad you are feeling so much better.

  25. Good to hear Katie is feeling better! It's hard to believe Waffles is capable of sharing...but that's wonderful.

My youngest, Saku (he's six) is the ultimate pest and has no boundaries. The other two, Sami and Sasha will wait their turn ...and keep waiting until Saku tires of the game.

  28. I would get some of that whole food of MomL could find it. I don't have IBS but my diet might change my anxiety when TKS is near. Katie, can you teach me the Head Tilt?

  29. So happy Katie is more playful, we must never lose the kitten inside. Waffles is grate at channeling his inner kitten.

  30. Such great news to read that Katie is feeling more like herself and playing with her wand toy in her favorite ways...pawsome! In the Warehouse apartment, it's everyone for themselves when the wand or Red Dot make appearances. Coco only plays with the dot and she gets annoyed if anyone else chase the same dot she is chasing. It makes for a crazy play time!
