Scratcher Wars

KATIE:  Great. A Townhouse FULL of scratchers and there's STILL not enough scratchers. I see trouble.

WAFFLES:  Hey Boss? Are you using this scratcher?

KATIE:  Seriously? What does it look like? Of COURSE I'm using this scratcher.

WAFFLES:  Because you're not really scratching. You're just sitting.

KATIE:  Waffles, it's a scratcher/lounger. Just like the scratcher/lounger upstairs. Just like the scratcher/lounger downstairs. Just like the scratcher/lounger a few feet away from where you're standing RIGHT NOW. Four scratcher/loungers. We have four.

WAFFLES:  But I like this one.

KATIE:  Waffles, it's exactly the same as all the other ones.

WAFFLES:  No it's not. I like this one.

KATIE:  Ok, Waffles. How is this scratcher different from all the others?

WAFFLES:  I don't know. I just like this one.

KATIE:  Does this have anything to do with the fact that I'M sitting on this scratcher?

WAFFLES:  Um. No?

KATIE:  This townhouse is not big enough. Not for me and Waffles. Not for any more scratchers.

  2. It's always the scratcher/kitteh tree/litterbox you're using. You have my deepest sympathies, Katie. -

  4. Funny enough, we are all pretty good about sharing loungers and beds and scratchers. Just not so much with treats.

  5. Uh oh! Waffles, you need to "suddenly" discover the fantastic qualities of a different scratcher. Right. Now. ;)

  6. Our Ben does this too Katie but he will shove his siblings out of what he wants to take over. I just ordered this scratcher! Funny coincidence. But I had to return the Sleepypod today. None of the kitties wanted anything to do with it. I had to pay twice duty fees! Argh!! Ah well. Have a great day on your scratchers guys!

  12. Men, whether human or cat, just don't make sense. Four identical scratchers seems to be quite sufficient, but we know if you move to another one, Waffles will then want that one. Katie, you are a saint to put up with all of Waffle's foolishness. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

  19. The best scratcher is always the one that someone else has.

  20. The grass is always greener and the scratcher is always more appealing when someone else is using it.

  23. Katie, you need to teach that orange tabby a thing or two!

  24. Yeah, Derby and I went through that too. When I had something, he wanted it and then it worked the other way too. That's Life!

  25. That looks like TW in the gym. Two treadmills but she can only use the one that’s occupied.
